Terri and I have checked our calendars, and we are available for a Cloudburst on either Saturday, March 16 or Saturday, March 23.
We are going to be meeting at our favorite Korean restaurant, The Woo Nam Jeong Stone Bowl House, at 5953 Buford Hwy NE, Atlanta, GA 30340. The time will be 7:00 PM. Please let us know which day works for you all who can make it. We already have one vote for 3/16.

Catching up with all the recent posts. Have a great time all that are going. It sounds like it will be a lot of fun and it is a great feeling to get to know and talk to others who share the same feelings about an artist
Recently my connection flight was in ATL and I thought to myself if only I had planned it so there was more time in between flights I would have found a way to meet you even for just a few minutes. I am sure there will be a future opportunity.

Aigoo, I can’t make it. I spoke to Gee today and she was asking if I was going to be able to come to the Cloud gathering. The weekend of the 16th is a reunion weekend for a couple of my friends from college coming from California to visit! But, if they cancel between now and then—I’ll be burning up I-20 East coming your way!

We will be meeting on March 16, at The Stone Bowl House, in Doraville, on Buford Highway. See the post above for the exact street address.
The time will be 7:00 PM.
Stephe may arrive a little earlier than that, but I work on Saturdays near the airport, which is on the southside of town. And I get off at about 6:00 PM. So, I doubt I will be early, but I’ll get there as quickly as I can.

It’s great to hear that you will be able to join us. It sounds like the 16th is a good day for most people, so I think we are going to shoot for the 16th.

It would be nice to be able to hold a larger event in the future, though, but in the meantime, it will just be nice to meet some more of Rain’s Atlanta/Georgia/Southeastern U.S. Clouds.

No, this is a different restaurant than last time. The hotels aren’t quite as close to the restaurant as before, but the restaurant is not hard to find.

there is a Comfort Inn & Conference Center Northeast, that is right off of Buford Hwy on Clearview Avenue, and there is also a TownePlace Suites Atlanta that is on Bay Circle in the suburb of Norcross, and both of these hotels are “right up the road a piece” from the restaurant, only a street or so away. The Comfort Inn in particular seems reasonably priced… Check them out and let me know if you need a few more choices…
I’ve never stayed at these hotels myself, but I’ve been in the area at a lot, so I’m thinking they’re okay.

I’ve never stayed there before, but I’m in the area a lot (my Korean meetup group meets down the street from that hotel). It’s right off the highway (I-285) in a quiet area with trees, and as far as I know, the area isn’t a bad one. I think Comfort Inns are comfy and simple. The really nice thing here is that you go out of the hotel onto Clearview Ave, turn right onto Buford Hwy, drive under the highway, and the restaurant will be down the road a piece on your right.
The hotel is about 20 minutes from me by expressway, without traffic… if I can, I’ll take a ride down there tomorrow and check it out.

If the 16th is the day, then I’m making every effort to be there. Can you recommend a hotel close to the restaurant? Haven’t decided if I’m driving or flying but either way, I want to be close to the restaurant.

There are quite a few hotels in the area. No really good ones very close to the restaurant though. The hotels aren’t that far away, but they aren’t right next door either.
Do you have any preference with regard to brand? Let me know.

Maybe you should see if some of our California Cloud USA members might want to get together for a meet-up sometime? We have Cloudburst groups all over the country, but they are pretty inactive still. Hopefully, one day they will become much more active for Rain’s sake.
Check out our Cloudburst thread over on the forum: http://cloudusa.lefora.com/forum/category/cloudusa-forum-topics-cloud-usa-cloudbursts/ and see if there is a Cloudburst you might like to be involved in. We have two in California so far, in San Francisco and Los Angeles. If neither of those cities in California are near enough to you, then maybe you could start one of your own? Just let me know if you’d like to do that.
In fact, if any of you anywhere would like to start your own Cloudburst and start rounding up Clouds to hang out with, Stephe and I totally encourage you to do that. The point of our Cloudbursts is not to make work for anyone. The point of them is to get us all to start meeting other Clouds where we live, so we won’t feel so “lonely” in our Rain fandom offline.
Stephe and I truly believe that there are a LOT more Clouds out there than we think there are. The problem is they don’t know how or where to find each other. But if we start meeting face-to-face all over the country and telling other people about Rain, and getting the word out about Rain, then one day, maybe there will be so many of us that we could actually start planning bigger meet-up events.
Right now we may be very small groups scattered across the U.S. But one day, if we all keep working to add members to those tiny little groups, then eventually, whenever we do all come together at a Rain concert or event here in the U.S., we might make a pretty big splash.
At least that’s our dream, anyway.
