  1. Spoilers* Spoilers*

    I miss you ended and I was glad it wasn’t as tragic as I thought it would be! Yesss!! The aditional episode was great cuz they got the chance to end it well. I was sad with Joon’s crazyness, that was tragic indeed. My ending for him would be to die on Soo Yeun’s arms and that she gave him the kiss he always wanted. That would have being a great ending for him! I cried when Jung Woo called Soo Yeon’s mother to give her thanks for taking care of him and called her mother instead of lover. That scene was precious! 😀

    • Mari,

      I was just happy that it wasn’t as tragic as I thought it was going to be. Especially with Harry. I sure did think he was going to die, and as crazy as that character was, I still felt bad for him. After all he went through, it was no wonder he was insane. So, I thought the ending was appropriate in that regard. They locked him away where he couldn’t hurt anyone else, and Soo Yeon and Jung Woo will keep trying to bring him back because Soo Yeon really loves him in the way you love family. His death would have been terribly tragic for her, don’t you think?

      Anyway, I was satisfied. It was a great drama.

      Terri :-}

    • Yeah, I too thought the ending was very appropriate and not at all as tragic as I thought it would be. So for the “happy ending” enthusiast that I am, I was quite satisfied.

      Mari, I have to say that I’m glad Harry didn’t die in Soo Yeon’s arms ending with a kiss. Even though Harry did suffer as a child and lost his mother also, he still chose to do unspeakable, manipulative evil things to people. Jung Woo and Soo Yeon had awful things done to them too but they always tried to do right by people, even in the midst of their pain. In my mind, one should not be rewarded for doing evil things even if that person did suffer equally. So, I think it’s good that ultimately Harry went “off the deep end” and at least he still has family willing to welcome him back (if he comes back). Which is way more than he deserves. Just my opinion though. *SMILES*………………………

      • BiA,

        I totally agree. Harry should stay locked up forever. But since Jung Woo and Soo Yeon are such good people, it made sense that they would stay by his side.

        A great writer. I’m going to have to watch more of her dramas. I’ve heard Stairway to Heaven was excellent too.

        Terri :-}

        Like

        • Stairway to Heaven huh? I’ll have to put that one on my list too. *SMILES*……………

          Like

          • Well, yeah, I didn’t want Harry to die but I didn’t want him to end crazy either! I mean, yes he will be locked up forever but he can’t understand why or take it as a punishment for his sins cuz he’s in Lala land! I said that cuz Harry wanted a kiss from Soo Yeon so desperately and wanted to matter to her. That’s why he tried to commit suicide, to get her attention. Taking into account the people he killed, no, he didn’t deserved a happy ending but he suffered all his life too. I think he deserved to go with a kiss from Soo Yeon! She got family and Jung Woo to take care of her so it would have being hard but at the end she would’ve being alright. To me is soo sad that a handsome, proud, brilliant, young man like Harry who suffered so much ended crazy. But other than that, it was an amazing drama and a great ride. 😀

            Like

            • Well, Mari,

              I don’t know. Knowing obsessive people like I do (don’t ask), a kiss would have just fed into his delusion. And that would have been a very bad thing.

              Yeah, it’s a terrible thing when we watch characters like Harry suffer so much. It’s a real shame that happens to a lot of real people, even. Still, real people suffer every day and most of them don’t become serial killers.

              Like someone said (BiAlamode, I think). Soo Yeon and Jung Woo were also innocent and also suffered terribly, but they didn’t go around killing people to get what they wanted. So, I’m having a little trouble feeling totally sympathetic for the Harry character myself.

              Then again, maybe there’s some baggage there that I’m dealing with, that causes me to feel that way.

              Terri :-}

              Like

              • Yeah, I think because Harry was so ruthless and manipulative and continued to be throughout the series, it made it hard to be sympathetic toward him in the end. I really wanted to be sympathetic toward him actually, but at every turn he always did one more evil thing and one more and one more.

                Also, I kinda have to agree with Terri when she said his obsession with Soo Yeon would have intensified had she kissed him. He would have really wanted to keep her then. If you noticed, when they showed the viewer what Harry “saw” in his “loony bin” mind were all the memories of happy times with Soo Yeon. It’s like that’s where his mind is stuck. So if she had kissed him, he would never have left that mental world. But they did leave it with him having Jung Woo and Soo Yeon to be there for him, so it wasn’t totally bad for him.

                Well even so, Harry was a cutie……a psycho cutie, but a cutie! *SMILES*…….

                Like

                • I agree. I really REALLY wanted to be sympathetic to Harry, but his actions…shiver.

                  But yeah. Yoo Seung-Ho did a superb job with his role. I have always enjoyed his acting and what a juicy role this was for him. I’m sure he was pleased.

                  Speaking of which I have heard he is about to enlist in the military. After all of this folderol with Rain, I’m not happy about that one. But he is more of an actor than an idol. So, maybe he will be able to complete his military service without much of a fuss. We will see. Sigh.

                  Terri :-}

                  Like

                  • Yeah, I will miss Yoo Seung Ho, he’s an amazing actor. So much so that Harry became a “loved bad guy”!! Even Sandara Park from 2NE1 mentioned that she was watching the drama cuz she loved Harry! Lol!! I saw his work in Arang and the Magistrate, he did a good job in that drama as well. Regarding his enlistment, yeah, he should do his duty out of the entertainment division. I think most of the performers in line to enter the military will want to do their duty without any extra drama for being entertainment soldiers! Rain’s witch hunt was so extreme that it’s crystal clear that it’s not the way to go! There’s to much resentment and doubts about entertainment soldiers and they don’t need that bs, it’s better to be away, do the thing and be over with it quietly.

                    Like

                    • Well,

                      On the one hand, I’m thinking Rain might be regretting that decision, but then on the other, entertaining the troops is a lot closer to doing what he loves than digging foxholes and doing guard duty.

                      So, I dunno. It’s six in one hand, half a dozen in the other. If you know what I’m saying.

                      Me, I would go for the entertainment soldier side myself. If I were an entertainer, of course. Just sayin’.

  2. I took a break from k-dramas today and decided to watch a Korean film instead. I just finished watching “71 Into The Fire” starring TOP. OMG….this was an amazingly awesome film. I gotta say TOP was the reason I was interested, but you soon forget about his celebrity and become immersed in watching the film for its historical significance.

    I tell you the more I watch these films I understand more and more about Korean culture. It was such a tragic story, but one of national pride for the South Koreans. If you haven’t seen this film, I highly recommend it. The full film is on YT (at the moment) so hurry.

    Search for “71 Into The Fire [2010] [Subtitled].” The channel it’s on is (SrLusoFono) – ID.

  3. I was finally able to return to A Gentleman’s Dignity this week—-started watching it late last year. A grown-up story giving a peek into the lives of four male friends who have been together from high school days and are moving into their 4th decade of life. I’m happy to see a story about people who are past their teenage and early 20’s, as quite a few K-dramas are based on. I enjoy the younger dramas, but this one hits a little closer to home….LOL

  4. I just started “School 2013.” I want to see what this one is all about. I thought it would be silly (comedic only), but I think it’s going to be a little more on the dramatic side of Korean high school life. So far, it seems to be showing both the student and the teacher perspectives.

  5. I miss you is getting sooo good, I don’t know what to do with myself till the next episode!! Kekekeke I’m really gonna miss this drama when it ends!! Park Yoo Chun can’t be more adorable!! OMG I’m enjoying this drama soo much and is mostly because of his adorable, dorky, passionate characterization of Jung Woo! It’s not only his unyielding love for So Yeon, it’s also his love for her mom, his relationship with his funny partner at the police station even his relationship with the cleaning lady! Also, as good as Yoo Chun is, Yoo Seung Ho is doing a marvelous job as Harry! Besides his obvious handsomeness, his character has so many layers and I love how he’s unfolding them. The scenes with his mom, his breakdowns and this darkeness that is slowing showing up in him is intriguing. I can’t wait for the next two episodes cuz they’re going to be intense!! 😀

    • **** SPOILER ALERT *****

      You’re absolutely right Mari, I’m loving I Miss You. You hit the nail on the head about Harry. He is definitely multi-faceted. From my perspective, he’s truly evil and manipulative but at the same time you still “feel” for the wounded little boy inside him, even though it’s becoming easier not too. However, I don’t see it ending well for him. His all or nothing mentality, is only setting things up for his demise. He’s somebody that would have to be put out of his misery. He’s not a “pick up the pieces” kind of guy…..not ultimately. He became successful only for the sake of revenge, not to go on with life and live peacefully.

      Also, I’m thinking Harry and Jung Woo may possibly be brothers. You don’t really know about Jung Woo’s mother and his sister keeps saying you look like the aunt (Harry’s Mom). How much you want to bet that Tae Hoon is the father to both of them? It may be a stretch, but you never know.

      Like

      • Yes I was thinking the same about they being brothers!! Kekekeke boy that will be a good turn in the drama!! Also, I agree with you about Harry ending bad. He’s turning into a monster! I feel for him cuz as you said, he’s a wounded boy who lost his childhood and gain a disability cuz of his mom’s greed. Every time Jung Woo runs after Soo Yeung my heart goes to Harry cuz he’s young and handsome but can’t follow her! Aww but his jealousy is going to be his death, I can feel it already! Soo Yeung is gonna be devastated yet again and Jung Woo will have to be patient with her. 🙂

        Like

        • Exactly! However, I still can’t predict how this will end for the three of them. Somehow, I don’t see Jung Woo and Soo Yeong being together forever. I think Harry might make good on his promise….”if I can’t have her then kill her.” If he and Jung Woo end up being brothers….OMG, he’ll really want to keep her out of his hands then.

          Can’t wait for next week!!! *SMILES*……………………

  6. I recently started to watch The Princess’s Man with Park Shi Hoo and Moon Chae Won. You might have watched it already. There are 24 episodes and I am on episode 9 and the storyline is really getting me hooked. My first drama with PSH and I am really liking him and I also liked MCW in Innocent Man, they have good chemistry together. I love the historical dramas. I do tend to like melodramas and romance stories the most.
    All the Korean actors that I have seen or come to know of so far are gorgeous and have beautiful smiles.

Great storyline, interesting characters—no one was just a cardboard cutout, they actually gave you their backstory to help you understand their motivation and emotional path. Above all, a true love story that lets the couple rise above their circumstances. That Lee Byung Hun is sumthin’ else!

    • Yes he is and I’m definitely a fan of his now….without a doubt! IRIS was awesome. This drama reminded me of the American TV series “24” with a little bit of “Alias” and “Nikita” thrown in for good measure. I agree with you it is the most impressive K-drama I’ve seen so far as well.

The love story is romantic, believable and sexy (they REALLY kiss) but I am hoping it is not a “set-up”…ugh. That T.O.P is COLD-BLOODED (Rick James/Dave Chappell voice)……he is a smooth hitman. Lee Byung Hun is one of my fav actors, especially after I saw Masquerade. I might have to add this one to my Korean DVD collection.

        Yes and our young boo TOP got that cold-blooded persona down pat! Snap that neck and THEN sip some wine…..damn! Now that’s beyond cold. *SMILES* As MJ would say……”you’ve been struck by a Smooth Criminal.”

After all, his mother was “taken away” from him too as a child. I do know I can’t stand Han Jung Woo’s father he is one ruthless s.o.b. Still after 14 years.

      Oh, oh and about the murder of Soo Yeon’s rapist…..the plot thickens!! (*goosebumps*) Can’t wait til next week’s installment. In the meantime, I’m killing time with IRIS and it’s damned good too. There actually some “real” kisses in this one. TOP and Lee Byung Hun….Oh Mercy Me!!!

  11. “I miss you” is getting soo awesome!! For starters, I love Yoo Chun, his work in this drama is WAY better than in others, his scenes with the girl’s mom are wonderful, I enjoy their playfulness so much! As a mom, my heart warms up everytime Yoo Chun says “girlfriend” to the girl’s mom. To me they look natural, adorable and totally cute! He’s adding so many angles to his character and his crying scenes, the frustration, the pain you can feel it all. Then the plot is getting complicated, I like those twist and turns in a drama were I can’t figure out what the hell is coming! Also, Henry is another character that warms my heart, his gentleness, suffering and caring ways make him a great oponent to Yoo Chun. Eun Hye is doing great, she’s an amazing actress, believable, she guides you thru this character’s hard life with ease. I can’t wait to see this week episodes! 😀

  12. Began watching “I Miss You” this week…………..didn’t know it was going to be soooooooo tearjerking………..so many factors that could destroy a persons’ spirit are in this drama, but all three main characters are strong and appear to move forward while reliving the pain of the past. BiAlamode, Micky is cute and charming in the lead role (as if you didn’t know…LOL) Even though the storyline is intriguing, it’s a bit heavy for me emotionally—my choice in K-dramas is normally romantic comedies. I think that is why is keep avoiding Bi’s A Love to Kill per the reviews and spoilers on other sites. BTW, the young actors on the show do a tremendous job of conveying the individual suffering of each character.

    Like

    • @BiThatWay, yes Micky is a cutie….no doubt. *SMILES* I do understand how you feel about the “heaviness” of the drama. Sometimes all the crying is a bit much. I too like romantic comedies and probably watch more of them as far as K-dramas go, but I can’t say I prefer them. I just like a piece that is well acted, be it dramatic or comedic. I tried to watch “My Girlfriend is a Gumiho” because I liked Lee Seung Gi in “King 2 Hearts” and No Min Woo in “Full House Take 2” but Gumiho was just too silly to me.

      What I do prefer, always, over anything else is a happy/positive ending. Doesn’t matter if it’s a drama or comedy (that’s my tv watching weakness….SMILES). Endings that leave me hanging or keep me guessing I Hate. I don’t like the kind where it leaves the viewer to contemplate how the story ended. From a writing perspective, I get that some writers want the viewer to decide for themselves, so I understand. Maybe that is how some stories should end. Oh well. *SMILES*

      Oh and please don’t shy away from ALTK. Yes, it is “dark” but this drama will show you Bi’s true acting range. He’s great in the fluffy stuff, but this drama shows that he can be an actor with some Grit. In Ninja Assassin he gave us a taste of that grit. However, ALTK shows that deep emotional grit that wins people Oscars. I think Bi has the potential to “go there.”

The thing is that Exo performed Mirotic like it was TVXQ with five members and HoMin was completely ignored. Why SM did that? To make a statement that any of their groups can replace each other? I notice that the audience was confused cuz they expected TVXQ to sing Mirotic! Also, when Shinee finally make their entrance, the audience went nuts cuz obviously nobody can sing Lucifer like them! To me it was another mess of SM that was totally outshined by YG groups. Big Bang and Psy rocked the house and were awesome, loved their performances. Regarding Mblaq, at least they were nominated, that was great. The competition this year was HUGE so I think they did well. 😀

  16. Hi, With watching Innocent Man and still watching I Miss You and also King 2 Hearts, my list of favorite Korean actors and actresses or couples keeps getting longer and longer although I can’t seem to take Rain from the number 1 spot. I truly miss him on screen and can’t wait until he is out of the Army to hear which direction he goes first, will it be a movie, a drama, new music, or lots of concerts or all 4 at the same time, inquiring minds want to know???????? I have to continue to have patience even after July as it could still take awhile after that as those sort of things do not happen overnight . Whatever he decides to do I hope he also includes a nice vacation some place where he can have lots of fun (USA!!!!!)

    I have been tempted to drive down to NYC next weekend as they will be showing new korean movie Werewolf Boy with actor Song Joong-ki from Innocent Man . So far I have only done that to go watch Rain’s movie R2B and its playing at the same exact theatre , I wish the theatre was a bit closer than the 3 hour drive. NYC is magical especially around this time of the year with the Christmas tree , the lights and shopping….

    I don’t usually watch a lot of TV but I cannot remember last time I watched american TV shows because of the K-dramas as they are so addictive. Each story and character draws you in so deeply even the evil characters and it is really hard to stop watching after an episode or two, as you just want to keep watching but then real life kicks in.

    Thanks for sharing what you watch, so far I have truly liked all the dramas that have been suggested.

Kerry plays Olivia Pope and she’s like “the cleaner” of any and all things scandalous with the Washington, DC political “landscape” as the backdrop. It’s a very high paced show, hits on a LOT of taboos, not to mention Kerry’s character is the mistress the President of the United States and they have MAD chemistry. The President “loves him some Olivia Pope.” I’d give it a look-see.

    Well I just caught up with “I Miss You” and “Full House Take 2” so I’m hoping that I Miss You gives me the same rush as The King 2 Hearts, but I don’t know. I Miss You seems more introspective, although it doesn’t have the same ‘goosebump’ moments (just yet) as The King 2 Hearts, it definitely keeps you intrigued. Can’t wait to find out how everybody’s life ties in together in the end, because they are definitely all tied in together.

    Now that I’ve had time to sit back and take in Full House 2 again, I really Do like it….BUT I keep waiting to feel real chemistry between Lee Tae Ik and Man Ok and as cute as they are together I just don’t feel the chemistry. The chemistry she has is really with Kang-Hwi, I feel it more so when they are together. I know their characters won’t get together in the end but….I don’t know, it’s how I see them at the moment.

      I’m in love with “I miss you”, specially now with the new turn of the story! The fact that Soo Yeon turned into a “femme fatale”, torturing and tempting Jung Woo was totally unexpected!! I thought she was going to stay humble, shy and aloof!! Good for her!! Lol!! Poor Jung Woo, he was stunned when she went to the station, with that mini dress that showed her beautiful legs!! Also, I’m enjoying her relationship with Harry, he’s adorable brilliant, and with his bad leg, vulnerable so you know that getting back the love of Soo Yeon it’s not going to be easy for Jung Woo.

      Full House2 it’s getting better, now that Man Ok knows about Kang Hwi’s blindness you know she’s gonna be with him and Tae Ik is gonna be jelous to no end! Also, her grampa is back, I knew he was going to be hard on them! Lol!! Regarding the chemistry, well it’s too early to tell but yes, I feel that Man Ok and Kang Hwi have some, he’s a good actor and have sex appeal. But No Min Woo can get hot too, believe me! Lol!! It’s just that the grumpy part of him is showing more now, but wait a bit, he can be sexy as hell! 😀

      King2 hearts’ end was great, I thought it was gonna be tragic and during the wedding I expected a bomb or something like that but it was beautiful. I cried with the princess while she was watching the video, OMG that was soo sad!! But really, It was an amazing drama till the end and Lee Seung Gi was awesome as the prince. He’s sexy, adorable and charming to no end.
