That was then:
One year ago today, our hearts were ripped out as we watched Jung JiHoon disappear through the gate of the Uijeongbu 306 Reserve Station to begin his mandatory two-year military duty to his country.
And though he was committed to doing the right thing and serving as a responsible South Korean man, his heart was ripped out as he left his family, his friends, his fans, his career, everything he’d ever known, and became the property of the ROK Armed Forces.

Hi, everyone..I have about one hour before enlisting in the Army. I’ll be back after doing what is expected of me. Thanks to your support for the past decade, I’ve been able to accomplish so much. Here we are on October 11, 2012 with a handsome corporal, accomplished super-soldier, and military DJ that we can be proud of. Only nine months to go before we’re back in a downpour! Congratulations, Jung JiHoon/Rain, on one full year of military service, and a pretty stellar year at that.
You tackled the military the way you’ve always tackled life… and won. ^@@^

Wow, one year already! At this time last year we were crying our eyes out while watching thru our computers our beloved JiHoon saying goodbye to get in the military. Sighhh I cried like it was my son or a member of my family and to this day I miss him a lot. I can’t wait for these nine months to go fast so we can have our Baby Boo back and give him a welcome he’ll remember forever. 😀

Marisara, I thought I was the only one who had a soggy laptop that day! It was soooooo sad when I saw his face looking puffy around the eyes, as if he had been crying before his arrival at the base. By the end of the broadcast, my eyes were all red and swollen too……OMO
