[ETA Update from Rain] From Stephe’s desk: Please keep JiHoon uplifted with cards and letters.

{*Edited to Add 10/7: Rain’s statement on the air during his Speeding Instinct military radio show on Saturday:

(English Translation: 화니)

[KCM] : Many fans worry about your health. What is the state of your health?

[Rain] : Good. (laughs) I’ve felt pain in my back since {my dancing overtaxed} my strength in my childhood. From time to time as the need arose, I was able to be treated before and after my concerts during my activities as a singer. But I find it difficult to combine my military service with my hectic performance schedule while serving in the army. I think I had a relapse and was taken to the hospital due to my busy schedules. According to some articles I read, I was as good as dead. (laughs) Now I’m in a good condition, and there is nothing to worry about {with} this ailment. I’ll carry out my duty.

So. Calm down out there, and get to writing! 🙂 ^@@^}

ORIGINAL POST 10/6

An upsetting photo indeed, from Rain’s most recent Consolatory Train performance. But there is something we must all remember. We must.

Rain has been going through this for years after each of his many performances, we just haven’t seen pictures of that until now. His back pain is manageable, started a long time ago, and is sometimes helped by movement. His military training and duties aren’t easy, but he’s powering through it, so we have to keep him lifted up and help him. He’s really depending on us to do that. He has so much more to accomplish, and an even brighter future waiting for him around the corner. He’s just got to stay on his path and get there!

Please stay positive, keep him uplifted in your minds and in your hearts, keep your online Cloud letters and handwritten letters to Rain going strong, and know that NOTHING is going to keep him from his destiny. Baby Boy is okay.

Thanks to vivianbi_taec for sharing her pic with everyone.

Hugs all,
Stephe ^@@^

  5. Thanks for sharing, I didnt know he had back pain. I am not surprised because the way he dances and moves to perfection for two hours and goes to the floor during performances will ultimately cause injury. Rain please dnt injure yourself, I want to look at you for the rest of my life. Take care of yourself cause I want to see you in movies as well as on stage, and you are in my thoughts and prayers everyday. By the way, your rear end looks scrumpious.

    • Hi, Ssara. To our knowledge, you should write the address in English so that it can be mailed out from here (the U.S.). They have postal employees who read English over there.

  9. Thank you for sharing the message from Rain. I really appreciate that he continues to look after his health. Of course, I knew he was okay, but I was worried, because between his military duties, and the back to back military concerts, that it would be too much. So, when I heard that he was in pain in hospital, I was not surprised. We all know that Rain has had problems with his back for years, but then, many dancers do. I am glad to see that he is pacing himself a bit better now, as no one wants him to hurt himself. We are all proud of you Ji-hoon, and love you with all our heart. Stay healthy and happy and come home safe to us …we are here for you …always!!! ❤

  10. Oh this man… Sigh. I’m keeping him in my thoughts, as always, and sending him strength by my incredible psychic powers. Lol… Seriously though, I hope the military is taking good care of our guy. Side eyeing them from afar and all that.

  11. If he can feel it ‘only’ after performing 2 songs… his concerts usually last more than 2 hours… There’ll be another performance 10/8

I keep Baby in my prayers and hope this bad time goes away fast. Sighhh Almost a year has passed so he’s halfway there. I can’t wait to see him out of the military!

  15. That picture speaks for itself. My prayers are always with Rain, which I never stopped doing, because what he has is a chronic disease. My prayers are to have strength, not just physical but spiritual. That strength that constantly shows us and makes us be proud of him. Our support and encouragement should be constant, full of love and positivity…. Thanks for this post ♥

  18. I’m reposting this in the hopes that it brings some comfort:
I’ve actually read that for back pain, depending on the cause, you have to stay active and keep your core and back muscles strong. If he stops it can actually make his condition worse and cause him even more pain. Also the flexibility he gets from dancing, stretching, etc. is very important as well.
If it’s manageable it’s a good thing. As long as he rests when needed he’ll be okay.

    • @Maddie, I’m a back pain sufferer too. Yes, you’re right, core strength is very important and I know His core is a helluva lot stronger than mine. But stretching is a part of my morning routine before work. It can be managed and I’m sure he will continue to follow doctor’s orders and keep himself in the best condition he possibly can.
