Lookie, y’all! The R2B: Return to Base poster that has been on display for the past three weeks at our AMC Colonial 18 in Atlanta/Lawrenceville! The AMC general manager was very kind in packaging it up for Cloud USA and emailing us when it was ready for pick-up, and we thank him from the bottom of our hearts.
(Fresh from the display case/light box outside of the AMC theater.)
This thing is HUGE-normous, as you can see. I am 5′ 8″ tall; the poster goes from my lower lip all the way to below my knees. I can’t wait to hold it up to Terri with her short self—she’s going to flippin’ disappear. LOL!
This is definitely going to be a fixture at Cloudbursts and Rain get-togethers in the ATL from this day forward.
And just so you know, JiHoon dear, when we see you, you will be autographing this puppy. Right on? Right on. 😀 ^@@^

@Stephe, Terri and Gee, IMHO I don’t believe for one second that the distribution company is just gonna send like….what “two” posters with a movie that’s going to 10 or more locations. I call BS on that. I think every last damned movie that gets shipped to where ever it gets shipped to gets “documentation/ads/posters” sent with it. It’s my belief (my opinion only) that management at these individual theaters DECIDE what posters to display and which ones not to display based on how wide of an audience the movie is projected to garner. That in and of itself is unpredictable. What of the people who just happen to be riding by the theater and decide to drop in and see what’s playing that day. If there’s a poster there, they may decide….”Hmm, baby wanna see that movie tonight?” Can’t ask to see a movie that you don’t know is playing there, can you? That’s if you’re just driving by. That’s like ordering a product from some company and then receiving the product without any invoice/catalog/proof of purchase inside the box along with the product. Just doesn’t happen. Even random free samples you get in the mail comes with documentation to….”buy my product in the future” type stuff.
So, I think that excuse is theater manager BS. I could be wrong, but it just doesn’t sound right to me. I don’t want to go any deeper than it just being a management decision based on possible ticket sales. My guess is that the Dallas theater management didn’t expect R2B to be nearly as popular as it was, but when people kept coming despite there being no displays they probably decided well we don’t need to display anything. They keep coming anyway.

You think the movie show in Dallas not having a RB2 poster blew your mind, I was downright in shock. I call two different mangers to ask about anything they had for this movie. Bothsaid it was up to the distribution company as to where advertisement products would be sent. I thought that was a dump ass decision. Who ladies r incharge of these things? I m happy for your catch. Super great poster. Can’t wait to see it in person when I make it down there for our next get together. Love yall!

Wow, Gee, thanks for doing that, and thanks for the info. Yeah, somebody was talking some straight up B.S. because why would CJ NOT want to advertise its own movie and GET PAID for it being somewhere? If people don’t know a movie is at a place, you don’t get paid. Like CJ would sabotage itself and lose money?

When I picked up the poster, I also had a conversation with one of our Lawrenceville AMC managers about the relationship they have with CJ E&M as THE theater in Atlanta for movies out of Korea that have major buzz. It’s been going on for around two years now, as I understand it, and he seemed very optimistic, with that being the case, why would you not help a theater you have a relationship with advertise your wares? 응? 왜요????
(Sorry, I was getting so mad that yeah, I drifted into Korean LMAO! That would be pronounced eung? waeyo???? Huh? Why????)

We really do hope Rain will be kind enough to sign the poster at some point. Maybe at a fan meeting over here someday? (Just throwing that idea out into the matrix, so someone somewhere can snatch it up and run with it. Ha ha.)
