[supplement] Road Trip for Rain: On the hunt for R2B Return to Base in Atlanta.
— Cloud cover by: Stephe, Managing Editor ^@@^
» My previous On the hunt for R2B in Atlanta post, from August 18, is HERE.
August 21: The objects of today’s mini-trip were tickets and posters. Voilà. And a side note: Major publication The Chosun Daily News Atlanta ran the R2B poster and article on its front page again today. *applause*
North American R2B movie posters (with the theater and opening date on them) can be found both inside and outside of some establishments, in multiple Atlanta suburbs with large Asian populations. This was inside the Super H-Mart in Gwinnett, and outside of a favorite shopping center near Norcross. (Yes, I wanted to steal one. Really badly. But there were waaay too many witnesses, so I didn’t. Drats.)
The AMC Colonial 18, however, is a very diverse theater (when it comes to movie-goers and staff) in a very diverse area. All of the big-name Hollywood movies are playing there. Which is really cool.
I don’t remember it ever raining so much in my town. 🙂
Oh, and the ramen! I was in Super H-Mart, trying not to stick out so much like a sore thumb (haha!), and trying to choose what type of ramen I wanted from a HUGE WALL of the stuff, when another shopper (the nicest Asian lady ever) walked right up to me, pointed to a brand and said, “This is spicy. This is seafood. These noodles are thick, and these noodles are thin.” Bless her heart for trying to help a poor stranger! ♥
After we looked over most of the brands together and we both had what we wanted in hand, she waved goodbye and we went our separate ways.
Moments like those are what life is all about. 🙂

Ladies,
We are giving away TWO tickets to tonight’s 7:00 PM show of R2B: Return to Base, here in Atlanta.
All you have to do to be a contender for these tickets is reply to my contest tweet on Twitter. I tweeted it an hour or so ago.
Rules: You must be able to attend tonight’s 7:00 PM show at the AMC Colonial 18, in Lawrenceville, because the tickets are only good for that viewing. (If you don’t show up by 6:30 PM to claim your ticket, then we will give your ticket away to someone else. So, please be on time if you do happen to win.)
So, if you’re in Atlanta and want to see R2B: Return to Base FREE, here’s your chance!

Aww that lady you found in the H Mart was so sweet! Is awesome when you’re in a situation like that, were you feel lost, uncomfortable in a place and then comes someone and makes you feel like a human being. Best thing ever! 😀

That’s just it, Mari… she treated me like I was a human being with feelings. It really warmed my heart, especially these days when it’s dangerous to walk up to strangers. Gives me hope for the world. 😀

Wow Stephe!! It must have been some serious RAIN-vibration goin’ on yesterday because…I kid you not, I was up in Gwinnett county, shopping at Costco and a Costco representative said that I should go to H-mart( mind you, I’m sorta new to Ga., so I had never heard of or been to H-mart..) to pick up a specific item I was looking for. So, I proceeded to go to H-mart, BUT detoured and went to Whole Foods in the Johns Creek area. But what is funny is I would’ve ran into YOU, and RAIN’s R2B posters at about that same time! about 8:30pm, right?? I would have probably met you and would have seen you looking at my boyfriend’s(RAIN..lol!) poster!

Wow, seriously, DNETTA? Yeah, it was sometime after eight! Haha. 😉
And see, it would have been a win=win because one of us could have caused a distraction while the other ripped off a poster. *note to self for next time* LOL!

Hey Stephe,
Actually, before I sent you that message, that was my initial thought. I was saying to myself, ” Stephe, I could’ve been your backup person, to get some of those posters!”
Stephe, that would have been “Plan B.”
Yeah, Team-RAIN is in the house!

I am taking the fact that you will be going again as a “2 thumbs up” for the movie and well worth the 4 1/2 hour drive I just did!

Wow, Maliaka! I wish we’d been able to meet up for the movie, to give you some Rain stuff. You deserve to take a bunch of it home with you for braving that drive. Bravo! 😀

Hi, Dnetta,
Sorry we missed you. We had a lot of fun.
Sadly, the first showing that we went to wasn’t very successful. The second show, like Stephe mentioned, there were about 30 people there. A few whole families, even.
If you’re going to go see it, you’d better see it quick. I don’t think it will be in the theater after Thursday, unless the numbers pick up.

I am so envious of you right now. Was going to catch the movie on my way home from Wisconsin. But will be unable to now. R2B doesn’t open till Aug 30 in Chicago. 😦
