[#6] From Stephe’s desk: My fantasy Rain playlist for the U.S. continued.

When I’m rolling in my Jag Hyundai and listening to my very favorite songs, these are the sounds from my playlist—whether he were to do an occasional cover or match the vibe—that I think would have Rain lighting up our airwaves like a Christmas tree. (JiHoon, are you listening?)

What’s on your fantasy Rain playlist, dear fans? Why?

» Numbers 20 through 25 on my fantasy Rain playlist are HERE.

#26. Al B. Sure! – Oooh This Love is So… Courtesy of FineSexyDesire @YT) Ooooh, oooh-ooh.

#27. Jon B. – Before It’s Gone. (Courtesy of kingwill86@YT) Oh lawd. Oh. Gotta get love before it’s gone.

#28. Al Green – Let’s Stay Together. (Courtesy of maoriSHooRTiie @YT) Okay, picture this, baby boy: Just for a special set of stage shows, you start this puppy off good and proper, and about halfway through have the Reverend Al suddenly come out of the wings for an impromptu duo.  I swear, I’d be the first one bowing down. LOL! If President Obama and Maroon 5 can hit it, you sure as hell can too, with those pipes.

#29. Boz Scaggs – Look What You’ve Done To Me. (Courtesy of TheTroubleBoys @YT) Kill it. Just kill it.

#30. Marvin Gaye – After The Dance. (Courtesy of StrataEast1 @YT) Oh-emm-geeeeeee. Another one for the tambourine! That girl, sho’ is fine, looking good on the Soul Train… hahaha! I love this song, and it would be so sexy in that Rain voice!

The proof, as they say, is in the pudding: “Slowly”, the B-side to Rain’s first Japanese single “Sad Tango” (2006). Making love in Japanese. Close the window, no one will hear us. Don’t be afraid. Feel with your fingertips. My body’s so hot, it’s coming in waves. Yes. Stop. Yes. Release. Keep going. Keep talking to me. @__@ This on our airwaves in English would quadruple the population and then some. This at a concert, in Japanese as it is, would pretty much kill me and every fan on the spot. Trust. (courtesy of GabytaAsiadicta)

  2. Thank you my dear for these fantasy playlist posts, because I get to “re-discover” some great, great music. I also get to travel down memory lane. (SMILES) There are truly some incredibly talented people in this world. Hopefully, Bi and other younger artists can help “resurrect” some careers, while extending and promoting their own. For example, the way Carlos Santana teamed up with younger artists like Rob Thomas. A whole new generation discovered this talented artist from the 70s because of that.

  4. I really love how Al B. and Rain both regularly go from sensually low to sensually high in just one note. That’s what got me on this track, for real…

    • For sure! Al B.’s voice was/is so unique. Not many men can go from a high range to a low range without sounding crazy. They are definitely kindred spirits in that regard.

Philip Bailey is another man with a “sick” (as is crazy smooth) falsetto, as well. I’m posting just cause I think it’s an awesome song and others may enjoy it too.

    • I don’t know if these will make you tingle, But the memories came flooding back. This is when Jermaine was the heartthrob of the group. Can you see these words coming out of Bi’s mouth?

Also, the second song by Jermaine was a sexy one too, with the lovely Iman in the video.

Hey Stephe/Terri—-on July 10, 2013 can CloudUSA have a blog post called………..wait for it…..omo…….DADDY’S HOME? “so excited”

Can’t you just see him saying that, then doing that little stand-still-wink thing when he’s “teasing” the audience. Guuuurrl, that man might not make it back stage. “Daddy’s Home….you miss me baby?”

        • woohoo…..that was the SONG! I saw New Edition on June 29th at the Verizon theater in Grand Prairie and El DeBarge was their opening act……of course when he sang THAT song, the whole “grown and sexy” audience sang along with him! His voice is still beautiful……..”I’ll say something good to you, you’ve always wanted to hear”……..yessssssssss sir

      • OMGoodness, BiAlamode—–you are trying to hurt a gurl with this one! (I have this CD) I saw New Edition on June 29th and El DeBarge was with them. Of course, when he sang this one we ALL were singing with him……….his voice is STILL beautiful!

        • I hurt MYSELF posting these songs! I know El has gone through a rough patch as of late, but I’ve always loved his silky falsetto. He and his late brother Bobby DeBarge had almost identical singing voices. El had a duet with Faith Evans I believe on his newest CD, which I really liked. Really glad to see him come back. I get tired of “old school” get pushed aside for young bloods all the time.

New Edition I haven’t seen in concert since I was a teen. I remember vividly. Me and my best girlfriend went to see them at the Arena Theatre in Houston. We were dressed like twins in these neon pink sweatshirts with big bold “CHOOSE LIFE” on the front ala George Michael (*hahahahaha!!…..at the memory*). Mr. Telephone Man was plenty popular by that time and Bobby damn near took over the show. He was SO cocky.

          Like

          • FYI—–Bobby is the same…LOL…still cocky after all these years……..But if I tell you he hit “My Perogative” hard, you’d better believe it! I love Faith Evans’ voice and it is really great paired with El on this song.

            • Heheheh, that’s on an upcoming Playlist, by the way. I think Rain would have hellafun busting a move with a “perogative, I can do what the hell I want” type of jam aimed at his Hateraders. LOL!

  8. Now, for the party song that ends the concert…..Maybe, maybe not…..I just think it’s a cool song. I can’t find a video on YT to play. The song is “So Whatcha Gonna Do” by Martha Wash. Another singer who never got her props. Pandora has a snippet you can listen too. This song is funky and fun. The track would be fun to do his end the concert “thing”………..

  9. Also, since this song is originally done by his musical mentor the late MJ with his brothers The Jackson Five. I think Bi would do a great job with this song. Of course, sung in his range. I like Mariah’s updated version though.

This one is beautiful and sexy and another he could either sing from a man’s perspective OR just do a sexy dance sequence in concert or on video. Just smoldering-ly sexy…..Goodness! I’mma have to call my husband in a minute…..WHEW! (SMILES)

  10. I’d also like to see Bi duet some more. That sexiness needs to “play off” of female energy on stage. Since he and other Asian singers like to sing Luther songs, I think this duet Luther did with Beyonce would be great for him. (*Side note* I like a more mellow Beyonce sometimes, she’s a great duet-er when she sings like this….IMHO. Not everybody’s a fan of hers, but I am)

Bey with Stevie…….another great one for Bi. Hey, Bee and Bi….hmm. I like it. (SMILES)

  11. Umm Stephe, making love in Japanese, Spanish, Italian, German, English…..I don’t care What language. Bi and making love in the same sentence go hand in hand baby girl! Like chocolate covered strawberries and whip cream. Believe that! (SMILES)

Since Al is “representing”…….I like this one. It would produce the same effect visually on a sexy video. Lord, if a man sang this to you with the same angst. The underwear would be his……(*just saying*)….(SMILES)

I’m in a “old school” kinda mood this morning. I think Bi could bring the same feeling to an updated version of this classic. As he demonstrated last week on the radio, he can sing these types of songs

I have this CD by Melanie Fiona and I LOVE it. This song reminds me of Bi….SO much. I hope somebody does me the honor of making a video of Bi with this song. I think this is the type of song where Bi is the love interest in a sexy singer’s video. He’s got that sexy BokGu, bad boy vibe going on and she just can’t resist, just gotta have him. (SMILES)
