2008 KBS Music Festival – an account by one of the staff

This was an account written by a staff who was present at the 2008 KBS Music Festival. I dedicate this to private first class Jung Jihoon who will be travelling to Vietnam for his first military performance.
Singer Rain prepared a very spectacular stage. I dare say amongst all the performance, his stage was the greatest.
Of course the others all performed good music which fascinated many guests. But they seemed to lack to some extent the strength, the pose and the power like impact which could embrace the total audience.
I wasn’t really trying to compare music, ability or dance. Rather I got the feeling from the way the audience showed their excitement.
Without doubt Rain’s stage was the highest. Everyone was excited. All were mesmerised.
When he started his characteristic performance, when even only his silhouette was seen under the stage light, many female around me were already totally thrilled.
But the most important thing was his stage manner. When he finished his song, he bowed politely to the audience and gave them his thumbs up.
It was a satisfaction of his own hard work, a response to the loud cheers of the audience.
It was also a response to his fans, a kind of hidden communication.
Seeing that his was satisfied, the audience was touched even more, and applauded even louder.
And when senior singer Li Moon Sae had the final stage, Rain knew well his own adornment role.
When the show was over he immediately approached the jazz team who worked hard behind the scene, said hello and shook hands with them. He also greeted senior singers Li Moon Sae and Kim Gong Mou respectfully and shook hands.
Moreover, when his juniors came over to give him their greetings, he greeted back even more politely and shook hands with them. Every gesture on stage demonstrated his virtues – humble, good mannered.
At the very end, he bowed to the audience again and waved his hands.
Each and every one of his gestures was an issue itself. He had reached the position where he could totally control the hearts of thousands.
But there was no arrogance or losing his postures. He worked hard just for his own perfection, and this made him a respectable person.

Endless effort, endless humility, endless modesty

I´ve seen this performance. Incredible! The perfection that is this man! He looks … “exquisite” is the word.
Thanks CloudUSA for bringing this up once again.
Oh, by the way, I never let the chance pass to say that I very much miss the “Magic Stick” line sometimes LOL!
