Well, you heard the Man. He’s all about letters, cookies, and candy right now. Oh, and chocolate (because for the moment he can afford the calories, he burns them right off LOL). By “other things”, he must be talking about toiletries and necessities and such, all the things that the military and his family and friends are already providing for him. Hopefully he’s not speaking of… ahem… unmentionables? Just what have you ladies been sending him? LOL! 😛

Remember in our Open Thread post this week, when we advised that the last thing he needs right now is boxes and boxes of gifts and items? Well, here he is telling you that himself. If you think about it, where exactly do you expect him to store anything?

JiHoon’s life has been extremely simplified by his military duties, so let’s all help him keep it simple, okay? Good deal.

Let us de-construct this address exactly in the order it has been given in Hangul, so that we’re all a little more in the know. I have done my best with a very common form of Romanization here as well as the way I’ve learned to spell in Hangul in class, although there are sometimes exceptions depending on who is doing the English spelling, and the “u” sounds in Hangul are sometimes interchangeable. Example: Jung JiHoon (present time), Jeong JiHun (FanClub days).

경기도 (Gyeonggi-do / Gyeonggi Province) 연천군 (Yeoncheon-gun / Yeoncheon County) 청산면 (Cheongsan-myeon / Cheongsan Township) 궁평리 (Gungpyeong-ri / Gungpyeong Village) 사서함 106-12호 (Mailbox No. 106-12) 8210부대 신병교육대대 (8210 Recruit Training Center Battalion) 12중대 (12th Company) 이병 정지훈 (Private Jung JiHoon) 우편번호 486-851 (Zip code 486-851) South Korea.

I hope this makes what you’re looking at a little easier to understand. Please don’t put my de-construction on your envelopes, though! Use the address from Rain’s official site below, which is almost the exact same as in our recent post. The only difference is that here Rain is identified as 이병 정지훈 (Private Jung JiHoon), and in our previous post he is identified as 이등병 정지훈 조교님 (Private Jung JiHoon Assistant Instructor). Ibyeong (이병) and Ideungbyeong (이등병) are both pretty much the same thing, a private with one stripe.

Either way, they most certainly know who he is. So feel comfortable using either address. He’s loving his letters.

(It is said too many other things could be difficult to store properly or to be handled)

ehm…so u can actually send a package to him via the P.O. box/military unit address? or is it better to send those bulky (bigger than letter/card, boxed) stuffs to Rainy Ent? Thanks. 🙂

  I would send anything larger than a card or letter to Rainy Ent. And if I sent him sweets or chocolates at the military unit, I’d make it a tiny box, sampler size possibly, so that the military didn’t turn it away. Just to be safe.

Uhm… I’m a New Zealander, doesn’t read Korean, nor write. If I write the address in English, will it do? Does he take souvenirs (I’m not talking about the quote ones hehehe)?

Please dont laugh but I am not the brightest person in the world cause i’ve read this thread like 10 times and I am still confused on what address to put on the envelope.(I know you can say it KELLY BUNDY) but I really dont know. Do you have to write all that down? Please can somebody help me. I would like to send a letter of support and some other things too,(I am referring to candy) nothing else but seriously I need some assistance.

i will just add rain in my box everywhere i goes make me fell confident and the sweet right next to me eekkeek well u see it nice to know they give him such a sweet of rain oh gotta love the clouds who know rain and what the men want ahahahahahah 🙂

My brother was like that too when he was in the AirForce,he didn’t care about much,but was so into sweets,candies especially hehehe… Hopefully Clouds have been sending him alot of sweets hehehe….

Hey, you know how it is. People are “hard-headed” and don’t like to listen when they’re told Not to do something. “Well MY Box, is the ‘extra special’ box so I KNOW he’ll want mine.” (HA!)

Those of us who are former military or have significant others in that are former military or who currently serve….Know the deal. We know there is absolutely no real personal space to speak of in a barrack situation. You have just enough room for yourself and a few changes of clothes/uniforms and a few toiletries and that’s it.

Bi is trying to say it in the nicest way possible, but he may have to go (Martin/Shanay-Nay or Homie Da Clown) on people. (*Kekekekekekeke*)
