As is being stated in this article, as far as we know, neither Rain nor any other celeb-soldier has seen any change in their duties because of Kim JongIl’s death, so try not to worry, everyone. (Believe us, we know how hard that is to do, not worry. We’re all human and it is tough.) And even though there have been frightening hostilities on the Korean peninsula in 2010 and 2011, there has also been conversation and attempts toward aid and peace. So all is not lost. There is hope, and plenty of it.
Please pray hard for all the soldiers who are not celebrities and are on the front lines right now. Their families must be terrified.

North Korea situation causes fans to worry about celebrities in the army
With the news of Kim Jong Il‘s death, South Koreans have been voicing their anxiety and speculations of what the future may hold. Naturally, concern for soldiers on active duty have been raised, especially from the numerous fandoms that have their favorite celebrities in the army.
Celebrities currently serving active military duty include Rain, Hyun Bin, Jung Tae Woo, Im Joo Hwan, Wheesung, T-Max‘s Kim Joon, Lee Jun Ki, Lee Dong Gun, Kim Ji Suk, Park Hyo Shin, Kim Heechul, Hwanhee, and Untouchable. With all active soldiers put on red alert, it’s likely that these celebrity soldiers will also put on alert as well.
A source from The National Defense Public Relations Department stated, “With the news of Kim Jong Il’s death, the public relations department (in which the celebrity soldiers serve) have cancelled some of their events… However, [the celebrity soldiers] are carrying out the duties they have been assigned.”
The celebrities serving in the public relations department are Lee Jun Ki, Park Hyo Shin, and Lee Dong Gun.
Hip-hop duo Untouchable, who are currently serving in the military band, are scheduled for 100 days of vacation. However with the sudden news of the North Korean dictator’s death, it is not yet clear whether the two will be able to take their vacation.
Untouchable’s agency stated, “The two members of Untouchable are supposed to come out for their first break at the end of this year, but in case [they aren’t able to], we are a little worried for them. We just hope that they will perform their duties with good health.”
Currently, there are no celebrity soldiers who are serving on the front line. Although Hyun Bin was originally stationed as a combat soldier, he’s been serving in the public relations department since November.
Rain, who is currently serving as an assistant instructor, is also carrying out his normal duties and has not seen much change so far. Wheesung has also been appointed as an assistant instructor and is currently undergoing additional training.
T-Max’ Kim Joon and Paran’s Ryan, who entered service in September, are currently serving as a conscripted police officer and a member of the Air Force band, respectively.

I haven’t been able to get a full nights sleep since the announcement. I just pray for all of the men who are serving right now. I pray that the North Korean’s Presidents son will not follow in his fathers footsteps and bring peace.

this is sad to read but i know and i TRUST RAIN very well on his behalf and how he do his hardship and duty i am very clam about rain gosh rain have see and learn so much been threw a lot difficult life and how hard for him to get where he today so i am NOT worries about coz i believe what his INSTANCE is .
regardless what happen in North Korean i just hope they are aware what happen esp what happen and how their family effect by their LOVE ONE death is i know i well be have crying river if this is one my LOVE ONE but i know … yes u are so right about the family of those are in front line more terrified and concern i just hope they can continue what they do i am PRAYING for Rain safe and no matter what is happen i know he will pass this solution around him an all i saying is we hope this can this will go well just reading am so chi already… 😦

I’m just waiting and see what’s gonna happen when the funeral ends and the military people begin to make moves. South Korea is doing what they should do and I’m sure the US is making moves to prepare for whatever it comes. Regarding Rain, well, it was good to know that he’s doing his job without changes. On the other hand, I’m sure Rain must be really worried about his family, fellow soldiers, friends, his country and their future. There’s nothing worse than waiting, specially when there’s nothing you can do about it. I can only imagine how awful it must be for South Korea.

I can honestly say I’ve been scared for Korea, not just Rain, because North Korea seems like they’re trying to start something when there’s no reason too, however, with that said, I too will remain calm and hope and pray that nothing happens to “anyone” not just to the celebrities, my fear for Rain’s military service/obligation was a concern long before he entered when I learned it was something he had to do and I even prayed he’d find a way out of it, but as was stated, it is what it is and we can only hope that things go well for everyone involved and for both countries. #waitingforJihoonJung071013

So far, I’m calm. There’s nothing that anyone can do at the moment and as cold as it may sound…..it is what it is. However, you are so right the family members of the other young soldiers on the front lines are terrified no doubt. Hopefully, North Korea will mourn and go on as usual without anything “extra.” This is why I said from the beginning keep positive energy out there for Bi (the others as well), because these are the times when it needs to come to fore.
