[from Rain] “I’ve been enjoying reading your letters. Thank you.”

*squeeeeeee!* Except for one thing. We owe you a smack upside your head, Hoony, for deciding to write WHEN WE WERE ON THE ROAD, halfway back to Atlanta from NYC. Seriously, dude?? *balling up a knuckle sandwich*

Kidding! ♥ 😀

  4. Where can I send Rain a letter or card to? I’d love to let him know that my husband and I are wishing the best for him and support him 120%. I miss him very, very much but am thrilled he has written to all of us letting us know how he’s doing.

    • Hi, loridee. 🙂

We’ve added links to that information to the brand new Open Thread post for this week, at the top of the blog. Happy writing!

  5. Reading this gives me a goose bumps. Imagine a very popular person, not only in his country but all over the world, would have time writing for his fans. No wonder he is in this position right now. He knows how to give credits to his fans, pays the debt-of-gratitude and at least look back from where he started. I regret that I just knew you lately, but still grateful that it is not too late to know you more. I love you Rain! You’re Simply the best! I want to know how would I be able to add articles on this blog. I am thinking, maybe not now, but in the future, I can contribute, at least, too. Thank you!

    • Mayette,

      Welcome to Cloud USA! We are always delighted to see “new” clouds forming in Rain’s World. Isn’t he the greatest? :-}

If you have an idea for an article that you’d like to write for us, please submit a query to letitrain@cloudusa.org. Fan accounts, original photos (meaning you are the source and hold the copyright), news tips (from wherever) and all other material (even from past Rain events) may also be sent to letitrain@cloudusa.org.

  6. When I read his letter yesterday I was all excited that I emailed Terri and Stephe to let them know..(not sure of they got it though)..anyway I’m happy that he is doing great and getting along with everyone and still has that great sense of humor of his, I did get a little sad that he said that he is hungry and cold but I know that will pass with him being strong and all, so I cant wait to hear from him again. JiHoony!!! AJA AJA FIGHTING!!

  7. I just worry about the “hungry” he can stand to be cold and tired but I’m not too happy that he isn’t getting enough to eat. Is this part of training? Do they have to starve to show they can fight? My husband says in US military training and otherwise the soldier always has enough food. I think we should be prepared to see some weight loss next time we see him. Did anyone see Hyun Bin after basic? He had lost a lot of weight. I think he looks better now. A little while ago he was at a marathon and I could see he had gained it back. But I’m not down with reducing calories during basic. No way.

  8. Awww my heart did a flip in my chest when I saw Rain’s letter!! I didn’t expected he would write to us AT ALL during this time. I mean, this is time he don’t have, he could’ve used it to write to his own family or friends or even to take a nap or a breathe from training. The fact that he takes this time to write to us is precious to me! I feel honored, cherished and honestly, speachless. He’s amazing!! You can feel his honesty in the letter, like is written to a friend! Every time he says “don’t worry about me” I go “yeah, right baby!!” and really want to smack him!! Ughhh!!! Like I can do that so easily!! He kills me when he says that! Also, when he says that he’s hungry, cold and exhausted at times; well there’s nothing there that I didn’t expected but really, if he says it, that makes me wonder how bad it is. I can only pray for him so he can have the strenght to keep going. Is good to know that our letters are cheering him up and making him feel better. At least he don’t feel alone in there! We have to keep writing to him, keeping his spirit up. May God bless him and keep him healthy thru this hard time!

    • I can’t believe they let him write to us during boot camp!! 😀 Perhaps it’s because his Clouds ARE his family, in a way…aw. ❤ Rules are meant to be broken sometimes.

      • Yes!! I do believe that we are like family to him; that he cares for us and that’s something that I will treasure in my heart always. I must say thanks to the ROK military cuz they seems to understand the love we feel for each other!! That is important for him to keep contact with his fans and let him do this. Gawd but he leaves me in awe yet again!!

    • I think the cold/hungry part, could possibly be a part of the actual training process. What if you’re on a mission out in the wilderness with no way to get food or get to sufficient clothing from the elements and “the enemy” is nipping at your heels…..What would you do soldier?? You see? They gotta put them in simulated situations like that to make sure they can mentally survive. Just like on Survivor Island…..kinda. (SMILES)

I told him in one of my letters that I was only going to write him fun silly stuff to make him smile. So you know me, whatever comes out of my crazy brain. OK…..not THAT bad! (SMILES)

      • Bi alamode- That makes sense. They may have to get by on less during a mission. I hope that is all it is. However he puts out 110 percent all the time so his need for calories is probably a lot higher than a typical recruit. He is strong, mentally, so I’m sure he will get through it. Then later he can rebuild what he lost.

        • @Ladylaz,

No doubt. He’s tough. He can handle it, it’s 19/20 year old “babies” they really have to toughen up. (SMILES)

You know it’s funny, I think most people (myself included) probably can survive on much less calories than we actually take in. Your body just gets used to all that extra. If I could manage to back away from Pecan Pie and Cheesecake and Bread (*Numm, numm, numm*) that’s half my battle right there. (SMILES) Let’s not even talk about Tres Leches….OH! I have lost my natural mind over some Tres Leches!! My husband doesn’t like it, but the first time I ate it was like having “dessert orgasm”…..Good Mercy! (SMILES)

    • It’s really exciting because this is what he used to do all the time, back in the day when JYPE had the Joyplace website, and when they first set up the Cloud site. He actually had time to correspond back then, unlike the past few years. Now in the military looks like he has the time again! YAY!
