Please see the compiled information below, originally in Korean, posted on The Cloud by the 8th Cloud Exec Board today, concerning Rain’s upcoming military activities. Japanese and English versions were also included. We thank them for the information. And yes, of course we’ll support him with as many letters as we can when we get his address.
Looks like, as of the time of this posting, he’s already moved to his boot camp unit in Yoncheongun.

[Oct-14-2011] <Notice from rain-cloud>The result of Rain’s unit disposition & his upcoming scheduled activities.
Hi, we’re 8th term Cloud executive board.
Marking his third day (the 14th) of being called into boot camp, his unit disposition results are in.
The followings are extracts from newspaper articles.
* Rain has been deployed in unit Key (열쇠부대) belonging to 5th Division of 6th Corps located in Kyunkido region’s Yoncheongun.
His expected schedule
1) the 14th : He’ll move to his unit after the release ceremony about 1:00 pm after lunch.
2) He’ll receive his military base education in the Training Batallion inside his unit “Key” belonging to 5th Division for 8 weeks from the 17th.
3) His military service location will lastly be confirmed after the random computer classification based on below regimental level, about September 12. {*Stephe’s NOTE: I do believe this should read DECEMBER 12. ^@@^}
4) He’ll serve in the army in his final place of military until he is separated from the army.
5) He’ll retire from the army on 10 July (Wed) 2013.
Details of his final military place address will be noticed soon.

Question, Lets say when he is done with his MS duty and everything, he is release ok, but what would happened if North Korea goes into war with South Korea does that mean JiHoon would have to go back and fight with them?

yes this something to think about far as what we can see, even though Jihoon is station so close to the boarder line I just pray that North Korea does not start anything.

This afternoon, Rain moved to his unit (the 5th Infantry Division ‘KEY’ (5보병사단 ‘열쇠부대’) of the VI Corps, of the Third Republic of Korea Army (TROKA) (3야전군) for his basic training. This unit is located in Yoncheon-gun.
He will undergo his basic military training there, in their training battalion. Basic training lasts 8 weeks (from October 17). After his basic training, his regular unit will be selected randomly by computer, just like his basic training location was. So, we don’t know where he will be after basic training yet.
Soldiers are not allowed any privileges during enlistment or basic training. Their personal belongings are even taken away from them and sent home to their families (including his cell phone and even his wallet), and they are issued only the bare necessities. Something very similar happens even in the U.S. Army. During his 8 weeks of basic training, Rain will not be able to communicate with the outside world at all. So, the only updates we MIGHT get will be those from the ROK Army itself, just like the pictures we received recently of Rain’s (and his fellow recruits’) assignment ceremony. So, I wouldn’t expect anything anytime soon, dear.
Please don’t worry. Rain will be just FINE. Honestly, they do feed their troops well and they do make them rest. But let me warn you, Rain will be undergoing a LOT of physical training. So, DO expect him to lose some weight. But don’t let this alarm you. It will just be because he will be losing fat and building muscle. Like when he did his Ninja Assassin training.

oh thank god the food is just great for rain but the training part >_< i felt like he went back to Ninja Assassin training typecast again loosing fat and built muscle again !!!!!!!!! oh rain but i do think he can handle this position coz he have learn a lot in NA so rain will be focus on his duty .about him of not seeing rain doing everyday or not update i going to sad and worries i just saying if ONLY if their no update but am pretty sure their will be post r on media or somewhere coz i do think even cloud far out from him he still have his humble and will do a good job on it coz we all wanted him back after July 10 2013 i just crossing my finger that rain to be strong and praying for his wealth and health and everything that he undergoing his training

OMG!! this was very not expected new at all 1.55 , u joke me here O_O i am so worries about rain u know how N. Korean attack S. Norean and they alway attempted to star shit* their first oh man i don’t he this the president seem to be helping N :Korean now i am SO WORRIES about how is was for on his training not to mention that about his physical of that too
physically tough and mentally exhausting training right away? Must be traumatizing! gosh r killing them in a SPOT what?????? knowing their food are less eat and share and their so many thing happen in their i just hope they are nor push rain into any of this hardship and i am very worries how he can do all training and physical i just hope he be good condition and i DO would love too see them updating him everyday so i can breath in and out for sak!!
also i am praying for his routine work are to be safe i saw one the SOLIDER pict holding a gun that one scare the hell out me O_O oh gosh!! 😦 i just don’t like this staring to have wire thinking yet my hear is aching again

I saw that info a while ago. Yes, is tough but that’s the less of my worries now. The place Rain’s going to do his boot camp, that’s what have my nerves on edge. Eight weeks near the border. Unbelievable!

Ok Lotus, what specific link did you see the information regarding Bi’s training post? I have Googled every which way til Sunday and I’m finding the information about the DMZ being 155 mile stretch of land between N. and S. Korea. I see nothing Bi’s batallion information above with respect to it’s location and the DMZ. I get majorly frustrated when I can’t find what I’m looking for.
I do get that there have been some “skirmishes” at the border as recent as 2010. I will echo what has been said and that if Bi is training close to the border, he is Only training, doesn’t mean he’ll be stationed there permanently. I’m going to assume that S. Korean soldiers are trained there on a routine basis and I would go on to assume that N. Korean soldiers are more than aware when it’s routine training they see in the binoculars as opposed to a full on assault. Therefore letting them go about the business of training, without any provocation.

BiA I have a copy of the map but I don’t know how to post it here, if you download google earth you can see the location and just where it is from the cease fire zone(border). And as far as the rest I’ll leave it up to y’all to draw your own conclusions as for me I have had a massive headache since I found out.
But I will say this if things get real heated hopefully they will move JiHoon because lets face it he did help put their @sses in the money green zone.

Don’t need to be sorry, I mean, sooner or later we were going to know about this. Yes, I know the President is doing major moves to protect SKorea but we don’t know how N. Korea is gonna react to that Free Trade Agreement they are proposing and I think that putting more pressure to NKorea so they stop their nuclear program is not a good idea now. As you said, we need to pray a lot. Damn, of all the places that computer program could choose for Rain, why a place near the frigging border? Is unbelivable!! 😦

wow it is very comforting to see him okay. I thought we’d b totally shut off from him and he’d have some mean ass instructors being hard on him because who he is. NOPE (well at least as far as i can see) The other soliders seem to be smitten by him and for them to be releasing all his info AND letting all that press in to take pics is crazi. i bet jihoon was like “damn can i live a somewhat normal life in the freakin army? damn!” lol

OMG that’s just what I needed to help me with my insomnia! Geezz One of the reasons I started writing was that I usually don’t sleep well. Now, after Lotus comment I started to dig info and I found in Yonjap News that ROK is beefing up the guard in their border cuz N. Korea is making weird moves. Now I am really really worried! Lord, I can believe it!!

We’re sorry Babe, I know nothing about Korean locations. I have said since day one to put positive energy out there for Bi. Personally, I will be praying myself cause that’s what I do. I just pray that N. Korea remains calm for the next 22 mos., that’s my fervent wish. I need to go research the situation more.

ITA with everybody especially Marisara, it does give me comfort seeing him and knowing that he’s fine and he dealing with what’s going on, I’m sure there’s a fair amount of culture shock for him adapting to a new routine. Selfishly, I welcome these updates and the knowledge even though I can’t be there for him as I’d like to be, but that’s just me, I guess, anyways, it is comforting and eases his loss and I’m going to gobble up as many pics as I can so I tell the Cloud to bring it on!

I know is odd but I’m not complaining!! I wanna know EVERYTHING about his schedule!! The more I see him; the more I relax soo I think that is the same for all his fans!! I can easily picture this scenario in my mind:
General Y getting to his home, enter wife and two girls running and screaming. “daddy please please please where’s Rain going we wanna know now pleeeeaaasseee!!! General say “You know I can say. Gimme a proper greeting and go to your room” girls do as they are told and go. General kiss his wife and say. “what’s for dinner” wife say with a smirk on her face. “unless you tell me where’s my baby Rain going, there’s no kimchi or any action tonight so start talking NOW!!

Ceci, I don’t think it’s odd at all. I don’t recall of ever seeing any U.S. soldiers schedule being posted anywhere, ever. It’s just done differently here. We keep that sort of thing private. I haven’t decided if it’s a good or a bad thing yet. I think he’ll be hounded by the press more than the fans though.
The ROK might want Bi to serve as quickly as possible, because I’m sure the past couple days alone has been a major disruption to regular army operations. They’ll be like we need to hurry up and get this Pretty Boy on out of here.
