Rain Is Going Into The Military And We Will Miss Him In Luxury Suiting Real Bad
Oh, wwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahh. I, along with a bajillion Rain fans, are extra-special sadfaced that the superstar South Korean heartthrob, actor and Stephen Colbert dance-off rival has finally been conscripted for his mandatory 2-year bid in the army.
While part of me is a bit starry-eyed at the prospect of HARDCORE military training and its effect on what is already a siiiiiiick ripped physique (your boy has 0.0002% body fat in Ninja Assassin), I can’t even deal to think that his hair will be all Jarhead short even if I’m totally mixing idioms because I think that only applies to Navy dudes (UGH, whatever, it’s like sports, ALL THE SAME) and that I won’t get to see him dance (haha, just thought of that awesome Youtube of those dudes pop-locking in the Korean demilitarized zone) BUT even more is that we won’t get to see him in beautiful suits for all his various fashion editorials.
I mean, REMEMBER THIS?

South Korean Pop Star Rain Starts Military Service
Singer must complete two-year stint in Korean army.
Like Elvis Presley before him, South Korean pop star Rain has left his life as a celebrity behind, for now, to begin his military service. On Tuesday, the 29-year-old began his two-year stint in the Korean army.
The service is mandatory for all men to complete before the age of 35, and Rain, real name Jung Ji-hoon, headed to a Seoul-area army base as fans sent their heartthrob off. He wrapped up a string of live performances over the weekend, and in a recent blog post on his website, he said that he wished he had completed his military service earlier in his life.
He added that he felt it was “too late” to be joining now but that “I will try harder to fulfill my duty more sincerely.” As a sign of his popularity in Korea, approximately 20,000 people showed up to his final performance on Sunday before his military service kicked off this week. The Wall Street Journal reports that hundreds of fans arrived at his send-off, where he was sporting short hair.
Time.com reports that at the send-off, he told his loyal and emotional fans, “Thank you for the 10 years of love.”
While he is a Justin Bieber-like superstar in his home country, he remains better known to American pop culture aficionados as the star of 2009’s “Ninja Assassin,” as well 2008’s “Speed Racer.” He even won an MTV Movie Award for his part in “Ninja Assassin.”
In a 2009 interview with MTV News, Rain did tease that he wanted to eventually pursue an English-language music career. “I don’t sing in my film, and I don’t have plans yet for an English album, but I will,” he said. “Please wait for me.”

I felt so bad coz Rain didn't tweet before he leaves T_T aww..!
I wonder whether he's able to keep the phone but it was the twitter that brought Rain closer to me,,,
Even now whenever my phone beeps I just go crazy thinking that it's Rain tweeting! ah? nope? not this time! but hopefully Rain will tweet pretty soon..

you know what i actually posted that somewhere (cant remember wat site though) that wouldnt it be awesome if we voted him number 1 AGAIN for Time Mag while hes in the army. i thnk that would give him the best feeling in the world. seriously. it bring joy and tears to him to know that he has that much support and clout while being away. LETS DO IT AGAIN CLOUDS!

I’m sorry to say that Rain will probably not be able to tweet for a while, especially through basic training. During basic, the military takes all of their civilian possessions and they only have military clothes and equipment so that there are NO distractions from the outside. It’s really important that recruits get trained properly. Distractions are dangerous. All the other celebs’ fans are going through the same thing… Hyun Bin and Heechul and others didn’t tweet through basic that we can see, and I think we are all just as strong as other fans. We are strong when it comes to JiHoon, right? Yep!
I’m sorry you’re feeling so sad. Sending you big hugs. Hang in there. Rain needs you.

Rain goes into the military and 50 gajillion U.S. based news sources print articles about him. I’m glad he’s getting press but color me annoyed anyway. Where was all this info when he was around doing stuff? Arrghhh.

justin was still in a soggy diaper when Rain was doing sold out shows and myriad endorsements. NOT even on the same level in my opinion. its jus bcuz beibers in america so u know they like to hype everything he does by 100. BUT WHATEVER when rain comes back out he’ll make bielibers shake at the knees. NO WORRIES!
