Rain discusses his training for upcoming movie, “Soar: Close To The Sun”
On October 7th, Rain took part in his last formal event before his scheduled enlistment in the army. Held at the culture hall at the New World Mall, Rain and his co-stars attended the production conference for his upcoming movie, “Soar: Close to the Sun“.
Rain plays the role of a combat pilot named ‘Jung Taehoon’, a role which requires intensive training to pull off. He had to go through several different tests to ensure the believability of his acting. He joked, “For the seven months during filming, it felt like I was going through actual military training. You can consider the intensity as going through seven extra months of mandatory army service.”
Fortunately, Rain’s stamina and strength helped him pull through the test. Real pilots must go through and pass a 6G gravity test, but Rain endured the test up to 9G. “During the test, my head snapped back and I fainted but I woke up and passed.” Fellow actor Yoon Jun Sang stated, “Normally, when heads snap back, people just faint right away, but Jihoon would get right back up. It was quite the feat.”
Yoon continued, “He’s a great dongseng, and I’m sad to have to see him go off to the army. He’s strong and dependable, as if he’s already been through the army, and I’m glad that he’s receiving so much love for his enlistment. He’s not a world star to us but just a comfortable younger brother.”

Rain is such a hardworking, strong and determined person. I have always been so impressed and proud of him. Even though I am so impressed and proud of him it scares me a little that he is like this. I hope he does take care of himself during his MS. I will always have him in my heart and prayers. I will be hear waiting for his return.

Wow, I have to commend Rain for not being afraid to get his feet wet. I mean it doesn’t surprise me that he would give his all in preparing for this role/movie.

that was very SHOCK and impressive of him Rain endured the test up to 9G. “During the test, my head snapped back and I fainted but I woke up and passed.he is very strong person just like how he never give up his work i am envy him for the fact he keep his co-cast happy and director love him even more ….! his co-case very like rain and share rain army and receiving so much love for his enlistment….yeah fan will be for rain we agin goes nowhere … i know that rain will give his best even though he tried on his feet on tanning duty 2 years will FLYS……… FIGHTING

Oh God!! Rain don’t know how to give up! I swear, one of this day he’s gonna kill me from fear for him! I already have my saints’ ears ringing with prayers for him. I think they are gonna strike me from heaven just to shout me up! But no matter, baby boy needs all our prayers cuz he’s fearless! Jeez, i think my blood pressure went crazy just reading this! He’s gonna get a smack in his behind from mama when he comes back! 😉

Awww my poor baby fainted during the 6G gravity test but he woke up and passed (((smiles)))…Way to go Rain..I will miss you so much dear but will be right here waiting on you get back, stay strong, healthy and bless also you have my love and support..AJA AJA FIGHTING!! 😀
