We are really happy to hear that there is a campaign going on by HanKyung.com in South Korea for suicide prevention. The numbers in past years have been climbing there when it comes to citizens and celebrities alike. In our humble opinions, the situation has become dire.
JiHoon has a lot of inner strength. Seeing him lend some of that strength to this worthy campaign is a good thing.
Please NOTE: Rain doesn’t seem to be directly quoted here when it comes to the last question about his military service. Rather, that part looks summarized in the original Hankook article and could be attributed to the writer, we don’t know. Therefore, there is nothing new in that regard. He has not released his enlistment date. Whether he is or is not going sometime in October hasn’t yet been determined and is not known.

Q : What do you think about suicide?
Rain : Not to mention, it is bad thing… All of us can be in unbearable situations, but I think that desperate choices should never be taken.
Q : What kinds of efforts do you think we should go through to stop the suicide that has recently come to the fore as a serious social issue these days?
Rain : I think we need to show more concern for the troubled people. Such a thing often happens in an extreme circumstance, so it’s important that we try to spend much time speaking with them and talk it out.
Q : What do you try to do positively when your feelings are too much for you to handle?
Rain : By sharing my stories with the good people around me, I can ease my difficulties. We have shared both joys and sorrows since my debut, so I’ve been drawing strength from them.

My goodness what an odd question, what do you think he thinks? What would anybody think? It’s a tragic, tragic thing. Emotional distress is a serious thing and never to be taken lightly. My hope….no my prayer is that ANYONE suffering from mental/emotional issues…please seek help. Find the courage to approach and confide in someone and when you do, dig a little deeper and find the extra courage it would take to allow that person to help you.
