i would love to see a romantic movie with rain included of course but thinking and using my brain i haven’t seen a romantic scene of a hollywood movie including a kiss, an asian and a northamerican girl. Now correct me if i’m wrong, Can someone of my fellow clouds refresh my memory?

I don’t know how romantic a scene you’re talking, but there was a young Asian (Korean) don’t know his name that had some romantic scenes in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movies. He was Amber Tamblyn’s boyfriend in those movies. Also, Jet Li played a cop who was framed by his futuristic self in the movie The One. His character was married to an American woman who played a doctor in that movie. They had some romantic interaction (not necessarily full on love scenes) in that movie.
This is why some “new blood” needs to be able to start running things in Hollywood. Cause if you look at most movies it’s only one group that “gets any” on the regular in Hollywood…….the rest of us must be nuns and priests……………..(*Just saying*)

Oh Hell Yeah, I KNOW what you mean, but like you I can’t think of ANY movie or TV series where an Asian man had passionate love scenes like that with non-Asian women. Not a one.

Oh and I don’t know what the project is, but if it has ANYTHING to do with a movie. Well let’s just say Richard Gere knows a little sumptin’, sumptin’ about love scenes. American Gigolo and Breathless, two little itty bitty films that might have “stirred” the senses once upon a time. (*Kekekekekeke*)

ROFL!!!!! Yeah, Mr. Richard is a bad boy, yes siree and knows how to make women swoon but it sounds to me that this maybe an action/drama film. I don’t know it could be somethin around espionage/Korea-USA relationship or just a drama about North/South Korea political relationship or maybe somethin else entirely. USA father/ asian son conflict or maybe a philantropic theme. We know that Mr. Richard also knows a thing or two about politics and philantrophy. With these two working together ANYTHING can happen. Oh man, I am thrilled cuz it sounds like a serious acting opportunity for Rain.

Richard has a love for Asian culture…..he was “thick as thieves” with the Dali Lama a while back and got his self into a little trouble kissing an Indian (Eastern) woman on TV too, but that aside…….Hi-5’s to Bi! yes, the man is EPIC in his decisions. yeah, i’ve been keeping up with Mr. Gere myself and know about all that you said concerning him, plus i watch anything he acts in and can’t think of a bad film. i think what i really like about Rain’s choice this time is that he decided on someone who has immersed their self in the Asian cultural. i mean really has a good grasp on it. Richard has a loyal following himself globally. i’m praying for the door to be burst wide open for both of them. Richard is seasoned and well versed to the ins and outs of Hollywood and Bollywood and i’ve always felt that he is an honest and sincere person. kudos to him and congrats. to Rain.

See someone THOUGHT they would slow him down, cause the writing is on the wall for Bi. The man’s ambition and talent has outgrown Korean entertainment, it simply has. He wants to grow beyond it and he shouldn’t have to stifle himself to please his countrymen. I think Richard Gere is an excellent choice for the reasons you stated as well. I have seen a lot of Richard Gere’s movies and love them, even his latest he just did with Diane Lane. I also love Bollywood films too, so all of this is right up my alley. I will reiterate what I called Bi before…..he’s a Bad Motor Scooter. He’s not wasting his time talking to B-rated people…..oh no, this Korean “brotha” is taking meetings with the “Big Dogs.”

hummmm..i agree that his ambition and talent has expanded outside of his country, but my view of him maybe feeling stiffled, i don’t really feel that. what i feel is that with this guy, any and everything he does with his life is always based on his loyalty to his mother and his family’s pride and honor . to me Rain or rather Jung JiHoon carries a heavy weight of responsibility not only for his family but for his country as well and because of this he cautiously calculates his every move.
what stays in the back of my mind is that never ,ever will Rain leave his country behind in pursuit of his career. that regardless of what he does or where he does it, he will always make it known that he is a S. Korean and that they are just as talented as anyone else in the world and are more than qualified to compete on a global level with anyone else, anywhere. for me this is an unspoken message but i think this is what drives Rain along with the fact this is what he loves to do. (just my little opinion)

I hear you. Maybe he doesn’t feel stifled, but carrying the “weight” of one’s ethnic culture can be enough to make the knees buckle at times. If anyone knows what that’s like AA’s do or at least we used to. However, if anybody can navigate the road between pride in one’s nationality and personal self-fulfillment, I’m sure Bi can.

Omg Cloud fam! I just saw this and almost fell out at work!!! I’m sooo excited for him, I can’t even say how much. He said he’d focus on Hollywood when he got out of the military and it seems like that might b coming true. Yes, it’s a lot about who knows who in Hollywood. And I certainly can imagine Susan Sarandon recommending him for just about anything. She appeared to be quite taken with Rain in her Speed Racer interviews.

On a side note, Rain looks exhausted but happy and Mr. Richard Gere looks like he just hit the jackpot!! Tell me is not me with my bias perspective. To Rain that is. Kekeke not that I don’t love Mr. Richard cuz I love the man, one of my faves cuz he is a triple hitter like Rain; he sings, acts and dance.

That’s what it looks like to me. They both look pretty content to me. I do wish he would have given a little more info though. Like what “type” of deal, etc.
Let’s all keep an eye out for the news to hit the boards. If they have truly already agreed to a deal, then exactly what that deal is shouldn’t take too long to be discovered (I hope). Someone, somewhere should be reporting soon that Rain and Gere are slated for something, somewhere, eh? Especially if it’s something for Hollywood he’s going to be working on.
Or, you know, Gere has a philanthropic foundation too. For Tibet. He could be doing something for that, but I seriously doubt it, because he used the word “deal.” I think his wording would have been a little different, don’t you. And yes. I’ve always been a Gere fan. Extremely talented man. And a huge philanthropist, which I totally appreciate.

Hey – but remember Toronto, ON is considered Hollywood North so they just might want to come up and work with us Friendly Canadians. Bonus we’re cheaper too. LOL
Regardless, I will keep good thoughts in my head and fingers crossed that in three years time this happens. Do I see a romantic comedy in the future maybe? Can’t see an action film with Mr. Greer he’s a little pat that.
