Congrats to Rain for doing so well in South Korean ads this past year. He works hard for his pay and certainly deserves every single penny, and never fails to take care of those who are dependent on him doing a good job.

In places such as China and Thailand, Rain has even more advertising endorsements than some of their native people… Yes, he has branched out even further into world CF star status, with more of that to come, surely. With him already endorsing prestigious world companies Cartier and MCM (it gets no more luxurious than that) and big wigs Mentholatum China’s Men Skincare line and the CJ Group empire, etc., it’s only a matter of time before Rain is in commercial films and advertisements across every continent.

Which Stars make the most money from CFs?

Which stars make the most money from endorsements?

Recently, the top 7 male and female CF (commercial film) stars were revealed based on how many different products they had endorsed from June 2010 to May 2011. However, based on profits during a one year contract period, it appears that Lee Young Ae tops the money list with around $1.1 million USD earned as a CF model. Popular idol group Big Bang followed her up on the list with approximately $1 million USD from advertising products such as cell phones and beer.

‘World Star’ Rain and actress Go Hyun Jung are close behind the boys with $920,000 USD each. In places such as China and Thailand, Rain has even more advertising endorsements than some of their native people and despite being forty-years-old, Go Hyun Jung is still beautiful and creates a lovely atmosphere for her luxury make-up and coffee CFs.

Idol groups 2PM and JYJ each have earned about $740,000 USD. 2PM’s agency said, “Even though the boys are currently resting from activities, they’re still busy with advertising promotions and filming schedules. When an advertisement calls for both strong and manly charisma, everyone wants 2PM.”

‘Sexy diva’ Lee Hyori and the recently discharged Jo In Sung have also earned around $740,000 USD. While Jo In-Sung was in the army, many top stars were busy appropriating his CF contracts. After gaining a lot of popularity through the drama ‘Secret Garden’, Hyun Bin had received about $640,000 USD as a model and over $3.7 million USD from advertising before he enlisted in the army. Lee Seung Gi made between $460,000 and $550,000 USD.

A person who works in the advertisement industry explained, “A CF star’s payment is decided based on the person’s image and popularity.” Considering the top names mentioned in this article, this comes as no surprise. While some of them didn’t make the list for endorsing the most products in a year, they made this list for earning the most money.

  1. Actually I have thought of Rain making his own line of perfume, cosmetic and cologne products since he opened up sixtofive towards end of 2008. I’ve suggested it through Rain blogs but probably Rain thought that since he already endorsed these products and the likes before, he didn’t want to compete with them. Actually Rain is a walking advertisements of different signature items from famous companies like D&G, Chemise LaCoste , Gucci, LV and of course Cartier and the latest one Zara. These companies are making money out of Rain. I think they should at least compensate Rain for free advertising. Just saying…

If Ji Hoon is a spokesperson for Cartier, which is worldwide, and he has been the most influential person in the media/world for the third time I think, why we don’t get to see those advertisements in the US???? We need more of him- it’s not enough with our voice or the movies he made in the US. We want more- we’re not as lucky as South Koreans to have him…HE’S A FASHION ICON, GOOD ACTOR, SINGER AND A HELL OF A PERFORMER, big brands like Cartier such as Versace, Gucci, Guess, D&G, Movado and others are brands that have watchs, bags, men’s clothing and sunglasses, they’d be lucky to have a model like him. And for sure with more exposure, the more likely to have fans buy whatever they’re announcing just because Ji Hoon is in the advertisement. They need to stop using Madonna (even though she’s very good) and all of this Hollywood actresses and start showing a hot man like him with their stuff. If I was a famous designer, I would pay anything to have him on my campaign!!!!!
    If there’s a designer reading this, I would make a perfume inspired by him… Just an idea and have him promote it all over the world. If Justin Bieber can do it, why can’t Ji Hoon?????
