What a cute headline! Well, this Today Online article is going to create comments galore. Heheh.
Please note, Rain has been “wanting to get married fast” since 2008. *checking the calendar* 😉 All he’s really saying here, honestly, is that when he was younger, if he’d come upon The One, he would have been inclined to take his time before heading to the wedding hall; however in this phase of his life, when he does meet The One, he’ll be a lot quicker about it and whisk her off to the chapel by bullet train. 🙂
Now, notice how here, in this article, he’s supposedly thanking the Singapore fans for his stint in TIME. Which pretty much means that either Rain smartly compliments the portion of his fan base where he’s located at the moment, OR the Singapore media chose to translate his words in that manner. (The old Lost in Translation syndrome.) Either way, it’s marketing, Rain knows that ALL of his fans’ cumulative efforts are making the difference for him, and so for me this is no big deal. Again—he’s talking up Asia, and he should. It’s his primary entertainment home, and he’s about to leave it, a daunting process for them and for him. Aww.
Oh, look. He’s talking about his enlistment, to the Media. Like he usually does when he has the time, AP. And he’s directly quoted (you taking notes?).
Just because it says here that currently his new album will be focused at the Asian market doesn’t mean it doesn’t have some English on it. And some of those songs could very well be used to finally wedge his way in over here… maybe. Rain has consumer data and numbers inside the entertainment world that we just don’t have out here; as much as we want an English album from him, until such a release would not fall flat and go belly up, he does not need to risk it. It only takes ONE flop to kill you, and there are people who are just waiting for him to fail. We know this, right? So. I trust him to know when to go English. (That’s not to say I won’t be crying silently in some corner somewhere, waiting. Huhuhu!)

Looking for his sunshine: Korean superstar Rain wants to be tied down – pronto
RAIN – that’s the Korean pop star, not the early arrival of the monsoon season – brought his The Best 2011 Rain Asia Tour to Singapore on Saturday, and gave one lucky lady something to smile about.
The K-Pop superstar, whose real name is Jung Ji-Hoon, showed up right on time at Saturday’s press conference at Marina Bay Sands, despite having flown into at Changi Airport’s private JetQuay CIP Terminal from Dresden, Germany, only earlier that morning. He had been performing at the Dresden Music Festival at the invitation of renowned German cellist, Jan Volger.
“Hi, guys. Good to see you,” said Rain in slightly jagged English when he walked into the ballroom wearing a crisp, white V-neck T-shirt, paired with a grey blazer, grey pants and grey patent loafers. Then, with the help of an interpreter, he said how glad he was to be back in Singapore for the second time.
“I missed Singapore (chilli) crabs and my fans very much,” said the relaxed 28-year-old singer-actor-model at the 19-minute press conference.
Eclipsing the scale of his first concert here in 2007, Rain brought along 200 costume pieces and an entourage of more than 100 people for his S$1.5-million gig at the Indoor Stadium.
In a span of nine years, Rain has gone from backup dancer to a K-pop heavyweight, and has twice been named by Time magazine as one of its most influential people.
“To be listed as Time’s most influential people is all due to the fans, especially fans from Singapore, who voted for me,” he said. “This has enabled me to meet a lot of people such as Sting and Bruno Mars, and have helped me to work harder.”
Rain has been hailed as the leading light of the K-pop wave in Asia with five Korean albums, a Japanese studio LP and a successful film and television career.
But he isn’t about to rest on his laurels anytime soon, with both a new album and movie in the pipeline – despite his fast-approaching enlistment into the army this year.
“Currently, the album is focused at the Asian market and the blockbuster movie contains an Asian aircraft, comedy and romance,” said the entertainer, who recently made his foray into Hollywood with Speed Racer and Ninja Assassin. “I hope all of you will love it.”
“(A lot has happened) over the past 10 years and this enlistment will give me the opportunity to think,” he said, pensively. “It also means a lot to me to serve the nation.”
Also having plenty to think – or endlessly replay in her mind, more accurately – is the lucky fan Rain picked out from the crowd and brought on stage for the singer to serenade his song My Lady to.
The ecstatic lady might be interested to know her idol is currently single and available – and in a hurry to change that.
“I want to marry fast. I still have not found a partner who can fulfill my wish but I want to get married fast,” he said. “I believe in fate and if I’m bound to someone, fate will resolve that.”

I personally would love to have Rain put out an english album. However, if he never does I will still continue to love and support him. I love how he sounds when he speaks and sings in english. But since I fell in love with his voice with him speaking and singing in Korean. I will be fine if he never puts one out. I understand that he has to do what is right for his career. If continueing his career in the US means doing movies only, I say bring it on. I just want to have Rain anyway I can. Let it be in movies, through music, or both. I want to continue to enjoy Rain for a long time and more.

I think this statment is so romantic. I believe Rain is probably a really romantic person. I too hope he finds the one. A women who is beautiful inside and outside. Also, someone who is intelligent, great personality , and supportive. Someone who will love him for him and not the fame. I hope fate brings him this special real women.

I think Rain is gonna do an english album one day, he can do it, he is a risk taker and I believe he’s plan is to start with movies and then continue with his singing career in the USA. He is gonna practice his english for two years and he will rock Hollywood with his charming personality. Of course I can be wrong but a woman can dream, right? ^.^

His songs are beautiful with hints of R&B, smooth jazz and hip hop. Therefore, it doesn’t matter if the song is in Korean; sometimes even if you don’t understand the lyrics, once you hear the melody, you have an idea what the song is about. I love his voice first of all; he could belt out a song in those 3 categories I mentioned. And the melody of his songs are really beautiful and appropriate for the type of songs. They are musically engineered and cannot be behind anywhere in the music world.

Nice article… I’m not one of the ones hoping for an english album. He still has a ways to go with his english AND I looove to listen to him sing in Korean. He definitely shouldn’t rush into that at all. I agree with Bia. He should make his moves here with a movie. He has the acting chops and the looks and could definitely make great strides with that. I just can’t wait to hear what he has in store for us.

Stephe, I have only one thing to say…….I agree with you.
Well, two things. Personally, I’m not wishing hard for an English album, never did. As has been stated, he still struggles with English and I AM NOT CALLING HIM OLD, but he’s not a Teeny Bop anymore (Real Talk), so it would not be easy anyway. Not that he can’t work wonders, no doubt if anybody can he can. However, I have always felt movies would be his entree to here. I could be wrong, time will tell, but when his next U.S. movie drops……I’ll be in the house.

I totally agree n understand where ur coming from but i have been one to really b anticipating an english albumm from him.
yes though he is “seasoned” and not a teeny bopper i feel that he just has sooooo much sex appeal, age wont even matter. like usher for example he still has hecka chicks wanting him and his every move is anticpated. i just have a feelilng that wen rain gets over here everything will be shifted. every woman black white hispanic native american asian…..ANY OF THEM will all of a sudden have a buring desire n lust for a man named Rain.
he is just so charismatic n charming. these ladies wont be expecting it and many men and media ppl will be viciously mean about it but the day is soon to come where the sexiest man on the planet will be an asian man. PERIOD!
he just needs to be surrounded by english to really be able to grasp it. its all about emmersion. he should make all his ppl talk in english even though not that well so that he can better his speech. it would also help them too.

Im cuban and i can definately tell you that Rain is the sexiest man ALIVE usher doesnt stand a chance against this man AT ALL lol i heard love story in english, he sings beautiful in english now so i agree with you and also oh man i have gotten rain some new fans 😀 about 5 and theyre spreading the rain bug ;D im happy to get people obsessed with him its amazing how they all fell in love with different things about this man. They include:
1. His smile
2. His hot dance moves.
3. His epic music
4. His voice
5. Hia personality.
6. His acting skills.
7. His sexiness
8. His humor.
9. His modesty
10. His influence.
11. His atitude
12. The fact that he works hard at everything he does
13. And the fact that he never gives up.

lol yes usher is a penny compared to Rain TRUST ME! yes when he sings in english it is quite lovely. love story is one of his best songs in english quite frankly. he just really needs a tutor that will MAKE HIM speak english all day everyday. hopefully while he is serving his MS he can hav a tutor daily for those 2 years. we here in america pronounce everys single syllable in a word versus in korean i have learned that it could be a 12 letter word and they only pronounce like 3 syllables of it. he just has to really grasp that concept and he will be GRINDING AND SINGING LOVE STORY IN ENGLISH IN CONCERT!!! LOL
also all those u listed are wonderful. i just really wonder why he hasnt been able to find “the one”. he has been literally all over the entire world. i know its probably a problem with chicks only wanting fame n fortune and i kno the other thing is him being sooooo dedicated to his career that he has pushed all that other stuff to the side. its totally understandable and im right there with him. finding the right person is HARD AS HELL. its also hard to find someone that is on the same “level” as you. that meaning either finacially or a maturity level.
i think we all want somebody who can bring something to the table. i think beyonces song “upgrade you” is an amazing example.

HMMMM, i think this could be rains main concern. someone that can not take away but add to. AND please dont think im talking about money wise. im pretty sure he doesnt care about that. just a woman that can assist him in being a better person (like giving constructive critisism about his performances or caring for him when hes sick or when hes feeling discouraged about something being the one to pick his spirits back up) along with him assisting her in being a better person.
