The Dresden Music Festival officially opened in Germany today, the 18th. And sponsor MCM is visibly excited about the Pop/Classic pairing of Rain and Jan Vogler on stage.
Rain is so darned creative that I, for one, can’t wait to see what they do! Could it be that he might, at one point, even play a classical instrument? Woah…!

Dresden Music Festival
This year marks the 34th Dresden Music Festival. The festival opened today with a concert of Sachsische Staatskapelle at the Semperoper and will end on June 5th. Every May, Dresden becomes the Classical Music capital of the world for two and a half weeks during which internationally celebrated musicians perform in front of large audiences in all the important theatres and concert halls of a city famed for its culture.
This year, MCM is proud to be an official sponsor of the event.
The 2011 Dresden Music Festival focuses on the cultural values that guide people, on the philosophies of life, and the connections between Asia and Europe. The Festival tries to build a bridge to the Far East, touching some of the cultures along the Silk Road on the way. Asia’s cultural ambassadors, such as Cloud Gate or Rain are important, since they tell stories from the rich past and the fascinating future of Asia even when they interpret Western music. The conjunction of modern pop Asian artists and classical European musicians is what makes the festival such a special event this time around.
