[article] Rain bringing “My Girl” to BEST Singapore?

At first I thought it disturbing that the concert organizer and Singapore press were making a HUGE deal about “My Girl” as if it were brand new and Rain hadn’t done it a million times already, in a million cities. But then the realization struck that yes, it IS new to Singapore if he’s never done it THERE before. If, as they say, he’s never touched a Singapore fan on stage, for whatever reason, ever. Which is entirely possible if he hasn’t been there since 2007—”My Girl” first hit the air off the Rainism album in 2008, right? It only seems like he’s been doing it longer.

And so, hyping the fans up in this manner makes a lot more sense. I get it.

LOL at the Boy, can the guy eat. You’re darned skippy he can. He has to, because he burns it right off on stage. Rain expends way too much energy to piddle around with his food. The Man needs something substantial in his body to survive and stay out of the hospital!

“Half-naked water dance” must = “Nan.” *chuckle*

VERY interesting how the message behind each BEST concert is being directly determined by the country it’s held in. How thoughtful is that? *applause, applause*

It’s being reported here that our Superman will be arriving at a private airport. If this is true… how unfortunate for our Singapore Cloud sisters. Aww. 😦

Do enjoy this article out of Singapore, fans.

Korean Star Rain will pick one lucky S’pore fan

FOR the first time in Singapore, Rain is going to hug one of his fans here on stage – repeatedly. The Korean superstar will pick the lucky fan from the mosh pit, which can hold up to 1,000 concert goers.

And that lucky person could be one of The New Paper readers.

From today to Friday, you just need to present the day’s copy of TNP at any Sistic outlet to enjoy an exclusive 10 per cent discount on mosh-pit tickets.

The free-standing tickets are priced at $288 (the most expensive category).

Said a spokesman for concert organiser Faith & D Entertainment: “The lucky fan will be picked by Rain himself.

“He will be surveying the mosh pit and will select whoever he wants to bring up on stage. So I advise his fans to do what they can to try and catch his attention.

“Apart from serenading to her, likely with My Lady, he may present her with gifts as well.”

Rain will perform at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on May 22 as part of his The Best 2011 Rain Asia Tour.

The concert organiser has confirmed that he will add the segment where he hugs a fan “many, many times”.

At his last concert here, in 2007, the singer didn’t have any physical contact with his fans. Tickets then went for as high as $888.

Request for breakfasts

And it appears that Rain plans to build up energy for that the hugging – he has already placed orders for his breakfasts here.

Boy, can the guy eat.

For breakfast alone, he has ordered a whopping seven items, most of them healthy stuff.

His choices include an American breakfast, skimmed milk, orange juice, assorted fruits, toast, fried rice and a Korean-style soup.

The Faith & D spokesman declined to reveal which hotel he will be staying in.

Fans will also have a hard time trying to catch a glimpse of him at the airport.

Rain will fly in from Germany on May 21 after his gig there to Changi Airport’s private JetQuay CIP Terminal. He will use the same terminal when he leaves Singapore on May 23.

Rain’s 21/2 hour show, which costs more than $1.5 million to produce, will include his famous “half-naked water dance”.

The concert will be themed around saving the environment.

Rain, who wants to be a spokesman for the environment, promotes a different green message in each country he performs.

Each message is based on input from concert organisers in those countries; Faith & D suggested water conservation and recycling themes for Singapore.

The singer picked desertification (protection of deserts) for China and the planting of trees to prevent flooding for Thailand.

For Singapore, Rain will preach about the importance of water conservation.

The 2 and 1/2-minute scene of falling rain on stage will see almost 1,000 litres of water being used.

But, in line with Rain’s message, the production team will collect and recycle that water for plant-watering.

Said the Faith & D spokesman: “Although the working relationship that we have with his management is a very enjoyable one, it’s extremely tough to get in touch with Rain as he’s a very busy jet-setter.

“One minute he’s in Korea and the next he’s in America. He’s like Superman.”

  3. He had an American breakfast huh? Healthy indeed, because a true American breakfast (In My Eyes) is SO unhealthy (or at least a true “Southern” American breakfast)….just like I like it. We’re talking Hot cakes/waffles, bacon/sausage, biscuits, grits maybe some scrambled eggs. With some hot butter and maple syrup “slathered” on! What you talking ’bout! (This is the breakfast in my dreams). (SMILES)

However, I can’t eat like this, but……..OH THE MEMORIES!
