[article excerpt] Rain complimented by world famous conductor Chung MyungWhun.

Just check out Mr. Chung’s Wiki page… his credentials are incredible. (As a classical music babe, I first ran across Maestro Chung when he was directing the Philharmonic in France. He’s done Mahler, and Debussy… OMG. He’s now principle conductor of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra.) And who does this man mention when it comes to hard work, drive, and talent?

RAIN.

This is saying something. I mean WOW.

Rain is mentioned in an interview with ‘Chung Myung-whun’ who is one of the most famous conductors in the world

[Excerpt]

Q : Do you happen to know Korea’s trot music and most famous National singer?

A : Chung Myung-whun:
“I’m computer-illiterate. I don’t even want to use it. I’m not interested in how the world works. I read only one English newspaper every day, I like to read the sports and comics.

My day-to-day life is very simple, so my music, family, and my children, have only been a huge part of my life for over 30 years. That’s it.

What is the trot? I don’t know the famous ‘national singer’ at all.

However, I know singer Rain.

His relentless practice and persistence is somewhere to the right of classic music. Becoming the best of all does not happen just by itself.”

  4. I enjoy listening to classical music myself, and my sister has been playing the piano just about her whole life, so I understand the dedication and hard work necessary to excel in that field. Mr. Chung’s comment is very high praise indeed. I agree with BiA that Rain’s work ethic is certainly something that other people notice, even if they aren’t familiar with his music or dramas. Its hard not to admire him for it.

  5. I thought it was pretty cool that he considers himself computer illiterate and only has time for family and close friends, but he knows BI!! He admires that drive and push for excellence. Bi garners respect and admiration from people who are the pinnacle in their fields and it’s a Wide Variety of people who have come to know Bi through his hard work and determination alone. They don’t care about his hits just his journey to get there has impressed many. Never count Bi out…..he is SO going to be HUGE in movies over here.
