Kim HoSang, Yoo SungHyun, Kim KyoMin, Lee SangJin, Jo Frank (Franky), and Jung JiHoon (who would one day be known as 비[Bi], and still later on as Rain) on the cover of FänClub’s second album, around 1998-ish.
Their first album was FänClub Motive Vol. 1… I listened to the Motive album last night (with “In Search of a Dream” as its #2 track). The whole thing was very Teddy Riley-style sound-wise, for example “You can get with this, or you can get with that”, I mean these boys were kicking R&B/rap tail and taking names on the whole CD. I was impressed by that and also with the transitional songs that were almost classical in nature. Very cool. I did notice that “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and “Baby Baby” weren’t on the Motive album, so I’m thinking that they must be on this one pictured here… #2. ^@@^

I also wanted to say that older Kpop is GREAT.
I adore Kangta of H.O.T, KJK of Turbo, Seo Tai-ji, and TigerJK and Dynamic Duo. That was some good stuff and I’m still jamming to Tiger and DD to this day! 🙂

We don’t have fanclub’s first album. And we don’t encourage illegal uploads of music here on Cloud USA. If someone has a legal source for the FanClub album, please do let us know. But I don’t know that one exists.

I think what you heard I had was Rain’s first album, which is his Vol. 1., or his Bad Guy album. I just bought that from a private seller in Korea. I got very lucky in that it is an actual brand new, unopened album from 2002. Which sort of irritates me because now I don’t wanna open the darned thing. Sigh.
I was thinking that because it was used it would have already been opened. But NO. I hate conundrums. 😛

When you say illegal uploads what exactly do you mean? 😀 because i think i misunderstood the meaning ;p you mean about someone uploading stuff that got by stealing or found from bad sources or you mean something else? because there are stuff on internet that cannot be found anywhere because they are too old or rare and people that have originaly bought them like to share them so i dont think there is anything wrong with that.. only if you make bad use of something you have downloaded as selling it as your own or promoting it….

kmusiclover7- Now I feel bad because I was able to upload it. But I did try to find cd’s to buy, and I have bought two albums the right way by Rain. I can tell you that the music is not all idol style, and there are definite signs that Rain will be big in his presence on the songs. However the songs are not everyday listening and he is not featured on every one. If Cloud USA wants to have the songs to play in this site I will gladly give them copies. But I am not inclined to send them off somewhere and risk someone using them to make money, Sorry, I will await the mods here to see if they want to do something like that. I wish you well in your search. One day, I’m sure, there will be anthologies of all of his work and we can all sit back and listen to our own purchased recordings with pleasure!

Oh i see what you mean…. I dont really plan to make anything like selling or stuff like that just wanna listen to it because i really like bi rain and when i found out about his debut group was really excited because i prefer older kpop rather than mainstream stuff but if you dont want to share it its ok ;p i will keep searching 😀 btw do you have both of his fan club cd’s ? ;ppp just curiosity 😀

by the way when i say i dont support illegal upload i mean i dont download other people music and upload it as mine or make any indecent use of it so if thats what keeping you from senting me any of his songs please dont mind because i really want his older stuff and i have searched any possible way to buy it or find but this site was the only thing i could put my hopes on.. thanks again and sorry for writing so much 😀

Back then, I was doing a personal search and did find the Motive album on an upload site (that is now defunct) a long time ago, but the file has since been lost in a computer crash and it was the only thing of FanClub’s that I’ve ever had.
We don’t have any FanClub CDs or uploads at all. We’re not Korean either, we’re Americans living in Atlanta and so we do understand how hard it is to buy Rain stuff. It’s really frustrating! But we keep making the effort and we always will.

I see im not korean either, i am greek,a country in europe 😀 so i know how hard it is to find foreign stuff so thats why i am asking ;p If you want i can upload all Rain’s album i got since i see this forum is made for Rain if i am not mistaken. The albums i got are legit by a european forum that shares legit asian music, if you would like me to post them dont think that they are illegal or anything or im doing it for the wrong purposes …. And i dont this to be looked as i’m kissing your a** so you would send me Fan Club’s albums i just though of suggesting it since you seem to be Rain’s fans and you seem to have his stuff….

Oh, that’s very kind of you. 🙂 We do have Rain’s various album CDs, though (I listen to him pretty much every day). We don’t need uploads simply because if we were to upload music onto our Cloud USA media blog for download, we would get in trouble for that, even if the source is legitimate. That is why there are all kinds of ways to listen to Rain’s music here on the blog (videos, mixpods, blip station links, etc.) This is the way Terri and I choose to operate for now, as legitimately as possible so that we’re here for Rain and for all of you for a long time to come. And so that Rain gets paid for everything that is due him.
Greece is a very beautiful country. I hope to visit there one day.

Yeah i know what you mean ;p You should visit greece one day, you wouldnt regret it 😀 I want to visit america too i got an uncle in Washington (if i spelled it correctly and it seems to be an awesome place as he describes it ) but now with the crisis and all it’s impossible 😀 Anyways, thanks again for ur response and sorry for requesting things all the time just recently became a big fan of bi rain and looked into his past and because i was always in old kpop more than the later on when i saw fan club i really wanted to try it out 😀

Thanks for the uploader link. I wanted to learn more about this group too. It’s wonderful to hear the music as it was recorded. I wonder what happened to the rest of the members. Does anyone know? One of them looks like Alex, the actor and singer (he was in Smile again this year). Love this site! I’ll join one day.

Trying to find the FanClub albums anywhere has been every bit as hard as finding FanClub information. (I think it would be easier to gain entrance to the White House or something, my gawd) Hopefully one day we’ll run across them. The only way I listened to the Motive album was through somebody’s megaupload…

I forget how old was Rain when he was in this group? How long was he in this group? Why did they break up?

I think he was 15-16 years old. And the group broke up when their manager/producer(s) absconded with all of the money. So, effectively, they lost their backing.

Thanks Terri for info.. That was awful they all were so talented. But then you think about it, it was good that it did happen for Rain. Because if it had not happen he might have still been in a group and not went solo. Certain things happen for a reason and sometimes they are for the better. Rain is living proof of that.
