We’re Honored: Taiwanese Animators Take on the TIME 100 Poll
You know you’ve made it when Taiwan’s Next Media Animation includes you in its hilarious takes on the news.
If you haven’t heard of Next Media Animation, where have you been for the past few years? A brief primer can be found on TIME.com, but here’s the gist: They provide cartoon versions of pop-culture news for Apple Daily newspapers, which reach Hong Kong and Taiwan, and then land on YouTube for the rest of the world to enjoy. We’re excited to join the ranks of Lindsay Lohan and Tiger Woods as an animated subject. (Do we have to watch out for paparazzi now?)

NMA’s video spoofs the fact that Korean music sensation Rain took the top spot in our TIME 100 poll — for the third year. The singer literally causes “rain” to shower down on his fans, and causes dismay for runners-up Jay Chou and Susan Boyle. But Rain’s ultimate goal? According to the video, he plans to conquer the United States…by riding in on a storm cloud and terrorizing us. We think taking the top spot in our poll (and appearing on Colbert) is a better way to gain American fame.

The cartoon is so funny, I love it and is cool but I am soo pissed at the video Times did. Grrrrr!!! They keep trying to diminish our effort!! 😦 Gosh, it just makes me soo mad the way they are showing all this people in the video that are “supposed” to be better choices than Rain but really, NONE of them can come close to Rain. They are not taking us seriously and keep mocking us for choosing Rain. I don’t know what to do other than make a hard comment on Rain’s post. Any ideas?
