Time Magazine Says This Week’s Conversation Included RAIN

~ Cloud cover by: Terri, Managing Editor :-}

Well, well, well.

I was upstairs, where I was chillin’ with my family after my lunch break and watching a little television, when my dad suddenly pipes up from his recliner.

“Well, well.  Lookie here,” he says.  “Look who’s in our Time Magazine.”

I get up from the sofa to take the magazine from him as he taps his finger on a piece in Time Mag’s Inbox, on page 6. There, in the section called, The Conversation, which highlights a few of the magazine’s topics of the past week, is a brief mention of Time.com’s Online Poll and its current leader:  Rain.  They also include a photo of Rain flashing a peace sign, from the MTV Movie Awards:

Aw.  It’s only a small mention, but still, I think it’s great press for a fella Cloud USA just happens to think is DA BOMB.  Go Rain!  And keep on VOTING, Clouds!

P.S.  I also enjoyed the rest of the magazine as well.  Of notable mention elsewhere is David Von Drehle’s article about the Civil War, called The Way We Weren’t and HBO’s announcement of their serial adaptation of one of my most favorite fantasy novel series called A Game of Thrones, by George RR Martin.  If you don’t subscribe to Time Magazine, you can read Drehle’s The Way We Weren’t. online at Time.com.  Give it a gander.  It’s a intelligent and informative read. :-}

The Inbox Image that grabbed my daddy’s attention:

An HBO promo poster for The Game of Thrones. (And NO, this has absolutely nothing to do with Rain, but it’s my blog and I do what a want.  :-})

  1. Jihoon in Time mag. so cool. See Jihoon u get around proud of u.

  2. OFF TOPIC: Because folks here have asked me in the past… this is the kind of fiction I write. Fantasy, epic. Although, with my second serious novel, I’ve gone deep into dark paranormal. They both feed the need in me, let me tell you, especially since they have strong romantic elements as well.

    Just thought I’d mention it. (And of course, I’ll let y’all know the instant I’m published.)

    Stephe ^@@^

  3. SO AWESOME! Hopefully when he wins they’ll do a full spread on him and interview. Terri, I to love fantasy and I’ll be checking this out. Diva, thanks for the preview link.

  5. Yay for Rain in Time mag! Very cool.
    But really… The Game of Thrones! I TOTALLY forgot that was being made into a show for HBO. Omgggg… I have all the books and have read them all, some a few times over. That is one of the best fantasy series ever and I’m STILL waiting for George RR Martin to write the newest book. Sadly I doubt it’s still forthcoming but still… waiting hopefully! Gonna go check out who’s playing who in the series… thanks for posting about that! Will have to get HBO for the duration of the show. 🙂

    • Mari,

      Yes, Game of Thrones was an incredible novel series. I had heart palpitations when I heard HBO was going to do an adaptation for the small screen. And the cast they chose is PERFECT. The author was very involved in the production, so I’m really hoping that it will turn out well.

  8. I haven’t been on the blog in a couple days (busy college senior and all that), so I decided to check it today since its the weekend. And as I scrolled down the page I was surprised to find a picture of the most recent TIME magazine (which I hadn’t read). I thought, “What? That’s not what I was expecting to find…” As I read over the post my excitement grew. “Rain’s in TIME magazine, aahhhh!!!” (I don’t really care that its so small) So I ran upstairs to look at the magazine for myself. I had to do a bit of digging around, but I eventually found it lying on a table in my sister’s room. I must have looked very frantic barging into her room and digging through her stuff. When I found it I immediately turned to page six, and sure enough, there he was! My sister was like, “Oh. Yeah… *shifty eyed look* He’s in there… I guess I forgot…” Right, she totally neglected it on purpose, lmao! She’s lucky I didn’t roll the magazine up and beat her over the head with it, anime/manga style…!

  9. I have to get this issue, I want to read the Civil War article. I definitely want to see The Game of Thrones….can’t wait! Besides Rain this is “My Kinda Stuff” as well. (SMILES)

  10. I would like to just say how very COOL it is of your father to spot & recognize Rain & to holler out for you 😉 Go Dad!
