So do enjoy this entertainment news spot of Rain’s guerrilla date/surprise interview that was sprung on the Seoul residents milling around Starbucks near Hongik University, the night of the recent lunar eclipse.
Rain charms the masses (with his adorable mop top), makes several female fans stutter in amazement, makes a baby girl (and we know how much he wants daughters one day) wiggle determinedly BACK to her mom (LOL!), and speaks on that world tour he » originally hinted about back on stage in Japan HERE, during the ZEPP tour (Love Saitama). Haha. Yes, he spilled those beans to the Japanese fans back in mid-July. We hadn’t forgotten about that. Not for a second. 😀
We wanted something about the new album that was pushed back… and there ya go. It’s still alive and well.
The condition of his body isn’t surprising, really. The way we see it, his dancing career from 2000 up to 2007 particularly took a terrible toll (no one else can dance the way he does), and the torturous Ninja Assassin odyssey was the cap on that stack. Ouch. But the man is still in amazing shape—no doubts about that. And he has a hell of a lot left in him. Just watch.
There’s plenty of action still lurking behind that sexy exterior. 😉

Wow….I’ve been out all day so I’m just getting the news that Rain is going back to JYP? It’s kinda like going back home to live with Mom & Dad after you’ve been out on your own a few years. I feel like Terri, a little concerned. It’s almost as if there’s no one in Korea that can handle just How Big a star Rain is. Rain should have had several U.S. projects either under his belt or in the works by now. Just coasting off the Ninja Assassin “steam” alone, but hey can’t cry over spilled milk. JYP might be better connected than the JTUNE bunch, but he made some missteps too.
Bi, Baby Love, I hope you know what you’re doing. Just because it’s Rain doesn’t mean he always makes the right decisions. I hope for his sake this one is.

I still don’t know how I feel about this switchback to JYPE. After all, JYP didn’t do such a great job partnering with Rain in his world tour the first go around, did he? With everyone getting sued and all.
And although I really like the Wonder Girls, I really don’t think JYP has done very well for them either. Case in point: Why in the WORLD would you EVER let your budding “girl band” open for a “boy band” like the Jonas Brothers, in front of a throng of Jonas Brothers FANGIRLS? Regardless of the “connections” you have in the American music industry, that just seemed like a really STUPID thing to do.
I don’t know. Maybe JYP felt like he needed to use the connections he had to get the Wonder Girls in the door, but from what I’ve heard on the street, the girls has a terrible time with those Jonas Brothers’ audiences…so much so that at one point they were actually BOOED offstage. Again, not a surprise to me since they were performing in front of American FANGIRLS who can be brutal.
Seems to me that those girls would have done better performing with someone like Demi Lovato, who is another Disney/Bubblegum Pop singer who sings similar stuff. Or even The Cheetah Girls.
Katy Perry would have been okay too. Although I have no idea if JYP has any connections close to Katy Perry, and her stuff is a little mature, so her audiences might not have connected with The Wonder Girls either. I just can’t figure out what that was all about, except exposure. But dude, the problem was it was exposure to totally the WRONG FANS. I mean seriously. What was he thinking?
Ah well. I guess time will tell with Rain and MBLAQ, won’t it?

Can someone please clear something up for me. Every time I read something I get different information. My questions are:
1. Did Rain start JTune records?
2. Do Rain own JTune records?
3. Did Rain every manage JTune?
4. Or was Rain just a majority shareholder at one point and just signed to the record label as an artist? I thought there was a CEO and president already that managed the company.
5. Is this a merger between JTune and JYP? Or does it mean JYP own JTune records?
6. Is JYP only going to manage the company until Rain goes to the military or are they going to manage it until Rain gets out of the MS?
Can someone please answer these questions especially number 1,2,3,4.

1. The company is called J.Tune Entertainment. It’s not a record label. (that I know of. Has J.Tune backed any albums that anyone knows of???) It is a talent management company. Yes, Rain started J.Tune Entertainment.
2. Rain was a shareholder of J.Tune at one time, so technically, yes, he was part owner of the company. (Like I am part owner of the company that I work for, because I own shares in the company.) However, it was a public-traded company. So, there were also other shareholders/owners. Yes, at one time he was a major shareholder of the company.
3. No. He had a CEO and managers who ran the company for him.
4. Yes. See #2. And there was. See #3.
5. Information on what this means exactly is still unclear. We haven’t been given enough information yet to know for sure how JYPE is going to handle J.Tune. All I can say is I just hope JYP and his managers handle the J.Tune stars’ management and promotion better than J.Tune has. Because J.Tune was not very good at it.
6. From the stories I’ve read, it sounds like JYPE is planning to manage J.Tune at least until Rain gets out of the military. Beyond that will probably remain a mystery until the far future.
I visited JYPE’s website yesterday. This is the first time I’ve done that. Frankly, I have to say that I was much more impressed by what I saw there than I was with J.Tune’s website. At least he had music playing, and his artists’ images and information was readily available to me. He also had some of his messages written in ENGLISH right there along with the Korean. Fancy that…

Rain started J. Tune Entertainment (not a record lable but a talent management company). The company is a public traded company. Therefore anyone who ownes stock in the company is part owner. Is this correct?
My questions for you are:
1. Since Rain cashed in all of his stock in the company. Which made he no longer the majority shareholder. Is he still considred part owner because he started the company?
2. If Rain is no longer a owner or majority shareholder how could be ask JYPE too become the majority shareholder and manage the company.
3. Is JYPE also a talent management company that Rain use to be signed to?

You sure do have a lot of questions, don’t you? LOL. I will answer them if I can.
1. I seem to recall that Rain sold all of his stock in J.Tune, except a very small percentage. (Does someone else remember??) Is he still considered an owner? If he still owns stock, then yes, he’s still an owner. Which I think he does. I think he still owns a little bit of J.Tune stock. I don’t really know how the company is structured. So, I don’t really know the answer to that question.
2. We don’t really know how much say Rain had in the restructuring or the third-party allocation of stocks to JYPE. If Rain still holds any stock at all and holds any kind of position with the company, he likely had some say, but all we can do is go by news sources that said he DID have a hand in the proposal, along with the shareholders.
Then again, they could simply be playing nice, so that the shareholders and JYPE don’t look like total jerks for leaving Rain out of the planning. I imagine though, that the intent was to save the company. So, I figure the owners really were interested in Rain’s ideas. After all, what good would it do to ignore their only major and highly successful star? It’s more likely that the owners were desperately looking for all good ideas on how the company could possible run while Rain was serving his time in the military. Now, let’s just hope their idea works.
3. Yes. Rain auditioned for JYP and was picked up as one of their talents. He started out as a back-up dancer for JYP, and JYP trained him and developed him into a star. JYPE was the management company that Rain was signed with before he started J.Tune.
4. Yes, Rain discovered, trained and developed MBLAQ. He has even written some songs for them. So, yes, they did work for him. With the changeover in companies, however, they won’t work for Rain any longer. They will work for JYPE. The plan is for Rain to focus on his own career and then complete his military service. I imagine there will be some regrouping once he returns.

On December 27th, JYP Entertainment announced, ‘JYP Entertainment and its employees have become the biggest shareholder of J.Tune Entertainment via third party shares allotment.‘

yes, I saw that info in Tweter but I wasn’t surprise by it. If you think about it, JYP is a savy producer and is the only person with enough experience to take over J Tunes. Also, it seems that Rain trust him enough to take care of his business while he is in MS. We will have to wait and see what happens in the future to really tell if it was a good decision for Rain’s career.

i have to say that even though his doctor said that his body it’s of a 40 yld man, i’m pretty sure that most 40 years old guys out there doesn’t look as hot as he does and would anything to have Ji-Hoon’s body shape.
Concerning His military duty, i think we should all pray that the situation between North Korea and South Korea does not get any worse while he is enlisted. You know to the point that he had to get involved in the situation.

I do think the military might be good for him coz he has to sleep and eat and everything at prescribed times so he will be forced to sleep. He’ll probably be so tired from boot camp that he will fall asleep quickly. He has to eat what they have, he can’t diet all day everyday. Like Stephe said, he’s a national treasure so they’ll not like throw him in the front enemy lines or anything. If they do I’m so going down there to go off on someone… hahaa…
I do hope there will be pic opportunities. I’m so used to having almost daily doses of Rain that it will be like going through withdrawals.

If he does the world tour and he actually make to the US besides being fortunate enough to go see him perform, it will even more wonderful to get to meet all the Cloud USA fans. i’m sure it will be so much fun to finally meet all of you in Rain’s concert. Hopefully that day will come.

i am with you, he should not tell people about his health coz that’s private. He is so sincere sometimes. Can you tell of an american star that tell something like this? Not in a million years. They tell if they are at dead’s door. Lol Aww but he was soo happy in this interview, hugging fans (sooo jelous, argh!!!) and smiling away!!! Sigh I am excited about that world tour but also worried coz if he comes to the US near my girl’s prom I am screwed. Well, I hope his management gives those dates early so we can make arrangements.

And you know, that is one of the things we love about him, isn’t it? He doesn’t tell much a lot of the time, but every now and then when he does, he’s so sincere with the information and happy to share.
I’m not really complaining about it. I just wish people would THINK about what he says before driving themselves into panics over nothing. (He gives us enough to really panic over without us adding extra hahaha) I see that all the time on lots of blogs and sites and have for a long time, and it’s got to drive him crazy that the majority of the time he’s going to regret saying a certain thing or taking a certain picture ’cause they’ll be misconstrued. *sigh*
Thus is the life of a mega/icon, I guess.

There were some great moments in that interview, weren’t there? His interactions with his fans in the street were so sweet. Those girls were so CUTE. All freaking out. :-} And there he goes grabbing a baby again. Ha ha. That little girl was PRECIOUS.
Very generous with information too, wasn’t he? Well, except for the dating part. Boy, he wasn’t going there. Not for one second. LOL.
But yikes! All that talk about “climbing back up to that mountaintop” in his 30’s doesn’t bode well for any slowing down, does it?
Ji-Hoon, you know, we really wouldn’t mind it if you slowed down a little bit. We really wouldn’t.

no kiding here rain been workking to much for us and keep himself more so actvated i feel sad for a man like rain try to so much for us and this what he get it SO TRUE that rain overwork himself so much but exceries will wron his body i have coould not see this coming from him at all i mean i have see alot peoples been exceris to even rip his body like crazy but rain lord i am feel sad and hope this is nothing to serious for the next furture or his perforamce and career either

Stop crying.
Rain has worked his body so hard that it’s pretty much ten years older than he is right now. BUT this is not stopping his activities at all. His career is still on track. He will still be making movies, making dramas, and performing at concerts for years to come, the way he always has, and going in the military. It is nothing serious. Just overwork.
(sometimes I think he just shouldn’t tell people stuff at all :/)

Yeah, I agree. Baby Love has worked damned hard. NO ONE can be on the go non stop doing everything entertainers of his caliber do without it taking a toll. As much as I love him and want to see him perform for years to come, I would have him be healthy and in his right mind first and foremost!
As quiet as it’s kept, I may be one of the few people, if not the only one, who thinks that him going into the military may be the “break” he needs. Barring any wars or military incidents, he will be an ordinary solidier subject to what the rest of the enlisted are subject to.
After boot camp is over, he will get his military assignment and carry out his duties just like…….”Real Peeps.” He can get a mental break from the “constant grind” of entertainment. He may even gain a few of those years of wear and tear back. It’s just like being overweight (as I need to lose a few), you may be older on the inside, but once you adopt a healthier lifestyle, the effects of overeating can be reversed. I think my Baby Love will be “AHHIGHT”………..(SMILES)

You’re not alone.
I’ve thought for a long time that the military would be a good break in the action for him. He can just be one of the guys and actually get some REST at night. Getting on base and skulking around in someone’s trash or stalking them is near impossible, so he won’t have to constantly be looking over his shoulder thinking the media is screwing him. Yes, the healthier lifestyle will do his body and his mind good, too. He’s in good enough shape to get through basic training without too much of a problem, and the military already plans to involve him in entertainment projects, so he won’t really suffer there. I’m positive they are going to take GOOD care of him because they know he’s not just a celeb, he is a national treasure and ambassador and nothing can happen to him or their @sses are complete toast. TOAST. They know what time it is.
I also don’t think there will be this “drought” where we get no word of him at all. People are going to be way too curious to not try to find out what he’s been up to any particular day. Not to mention they are going to get some spectacular shots of him in his camo and I tell you the man is going to make one HOT soldier. Um! And if I know him, he may have himself a “Ryan Moon” in there who occasionally “happens to” tweet us something. Hahaha.
If only baby boy weren’t so afraid that we’d forget him in there… because there is no way in hell that we will. Seriously, JiHoon?

I’d be willing to bet we will get Some Type of photos. Especially, on the day they cut his “luscious locks”. Mari might get a little sick on that day. (SMILES) I just had a flash in my mind of a shirtless, buzzed cut, soldier taking a break on a hot day in his “Camis” (as my hubby, former military calls them) and combat boots, all tall and tan and sweaty and……(*slaps self*). Yeah, they’ll take care of him, No Doubt! Forget Sweetness….Uh….Hell-to-the-NOT!!!!…..(SMILES)

Oh Hallelujah! Yes most definitely, let the choir sing…
I agree 110%, in that this will give him the break that he has not been able to take since he started over 10 years ago. When you think about it, it is utterly amazing that he has been able to go at this pace for so long, and not burn out (or turn into a “nut case” of turn to alcohol, drugs, etc.. (You know what I mean…). Mentally, Physically and Spiritually, he needs to be able to have some true down time, and the military will be the best haven for him to do so. There will be less time for thinking about “Me (him)” and what should be done next in his career and succeed, and total focus on “We (the military) and the nation”, which will be good for him. It should help provide some balance and total down-time that he has been unable to get. I think overall the time away will help him prepare for that next level in his life, and allow time for reflecting/reevaluating, as he approaches his 30’s. He appears to have the ability to pull the good out of every situation that he has endured, which makes him better and wiser. Afterwards, I think Jihoon will be more seasoned, experienced, wiser and will definitely know what he wants. He is already a truly amazing individual, but afterwards, he will truly be an AMAZING GROWN @SS MAN. Wow, put that together with ALL that he already possesses, and he will definitely make a girl swoon and/or hurt themselves trying to get at him. Plus he is SINGLE too! Like I’ve shared previously, if I were younger and single, Jihoon would have a serious stalker problem, and all the Clouds would hear about some crazy girl making a fool out of herself, because I would have to have him. 😉
Lastly …. there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY THAT I WILL FORGET ABOUT HIM while he is in the military. No Way! I will be like a little faithful Labrador (or whatever breed of dog that he likes), patiently and anxiously waiting for his return…., and will be in total joy, and knock him over with excitement (too bad I can’t show him the affection) when it returns home! 🙂

Great interview. He’s such in high spirits and so nice to all his fans. You can tell how appreciative he is about how people much people love him.

It is definitely not surprising that his sexy body is in the shape of a 40 year old. It’s like, well DUH Ji-Hoon give it a rest. His body is probably screaming from being pushed to the limit most of the time. I always have and still admire his tenacity and wish, like always, that he would take a break. But, as we know, and as he has stated, all he does is practice. Sheesh! It makes he angry, excited, and concerned all at the same time. I almost think that going to the military will be like a break for him with the grueling schedule that he has kept. Anyway, can’t wait to see and hear what’s coming next and I will always support him in whatever he does. Saranghae!
