Fugitive: Plan B is holding its position…

… and we like that.

We certainly hope its ratings begin rising again soon, though.  The plot and subject matter may not be some people’s cup of tea, but this drama is a slick, well-constructed piece of entertainment with a top notch cast and writing to die for.  That’s just the plain truth of it.

HanCinema 11/10/2010 — “Daemul/Big Thing” is standing still… but still number one Wed-Thur

SBS’s ‘Daemul – Big Thing’, has consistent viewer rating, and stayed as number 1 Wed-Thurs drama, but failed to break 30%.

According to AGB Nilson Media Research, 11th episode of ‘Daemul – Big Thing’, which aired on the10th, recorded 25.9% national viewer rating.

This is still not enough to compare to 28.3%, which is Daemul’s highest rating, and fail to enter the 30s.

On the other hand, other dramas on air at the same time with ‘Daemul – Big Thing’ recorded 12.3% (“The Fugitive Plan B“), and 7.5% (“Home Sweet Home”) each.

  1. Yeah, the ratings irritate me to death. You’d think that Koreans would be tired of the same old, formulaic K-Drama, right? But apparently no.

You know what the most interesting thing to me about the ratings is though? The most interesting thing to me is that every time I think about Fugitive’s low ratings, I think about that bet Rain made with Jung-Jin. Do you all remember? He said that the show would be lucky to hit 20%? While Jung-Jin expected it to hit around 30%? Is that right? And whoever was the closest had to buy everyone dinner somewhere out of the country??? LOL.

He even went as far as telling everyone to only watch it “if they wanted to.” LOL. At the time I was like, dude, don’t tank your show before it even begins! Gosh!

And yet, now that I really think about it, it looks like he knew something we didn’t, because he was RIGHT ON THE MONEY. I think he KNEW that it was highly unlikely that many Koreans were going to like this show, that it was too different to appeal to them.

Maybe we should stop stressing about this. Maybe ratings were NOT why he was doing this project in the first place. Maybe it was simply a worthwhile project that he thought would show his range as an actor, and at the same time would also give him a chance to work with these particular writers and director.

And maybe he simply could not pass up that chance–even though he KNEW that the ratings were not going to be that good. At least, not in Korea, anyway.

  2. This drama is hella awswome. I have loved this drama from episode 1. I do not understand why anyone would not be watching this drama. It has everything romance, comedy, action, great actors, and fine ass Rain. What else can you ask for in a drama. I am so happy that it is doing good in other countries besides Korea. Also, I am happy that Rain has been praised continuely for his awsome acting.
