Word has come from The 7thCloud that this year’s membership recruitment (the 8thCloud), which has been postponed since May 2010, may finally be opened from mid-November to mid-December (this is tentative). The 7th Cloud executive board has concerns and is asking for feedback.
Some of us have already gone over and begun giving just that on the subjects they’re asking about. PLEASE add your voice to the group. This is major, as we have never been asked our opinions before. Don’t waste this opportunity!

Hi , this is Cloud7th Board.
Fugitive Plan B got good comment after broadcasting, also Asia Song Festival was successfully ended. Thus, we would like to have your opinions about the recruitment of Fanclub Cloud 8th. Committee is planning to begin recruitment Round 1 Cloud8th from mid-November to mid-December after this opened comment period.
Then, from mid-Dec to late December, new Cloud8th Board will be managed the membership. On Jan 1st, 2011, Round 2 recruitment will begin, duration is about 2~3 weeks.
After that, Cloud8th activity will begin.
(Above is only the estimated schedule, subject to be changed according to artist’s other event schedule etc.)
* If concert will be held on late December, Fanclub ticket will be given to Round 1 Cloud members only
* Or, Cloud7th members +Round 1 Cloud8th members. In fact, this issue is still under discussion.
Also, issues about membership fee and souvenirs, we really need everybody’s opinions.
Free membership has been requested by some Cloud members in before. Although, it is impossible for us to provide Free Membership, we are trying our best to make it happens though. Therefore, we tried to reduce cost of the goods in order to eliminate the Fanclub membership fee. Actually, Free Membership is an ideal. Even Cloud official website, we have to pay server maintenance fee, it is difficult for Fanclub to provide Free Membership. Thus, we have the following proposal.
Membership Fees:
Korea domestic members will charge 10,000 won~15,000 won ($9.00 to $14.00 US)/ Overseas members will charge 30,000won~40,000won($27.00 to $36.00 US) (Since overseas shipping cost and remittance expense, overseas membership is higher than domestic one).
[*That’s quite a drop, considering at present the fees are Domestic $23.00 and Overseas $62.00… good deal! – ^@@^]
Membership Benefit:
FanMeeting may attend once (FanMeeting fee will be determined for number of participants).
Priority admission as usual regulations on public broadcasting & other events.
FanClub Card will be distributed.

Below is disadvantage and advantage per the comparison between an original Fanclub recruitment regulations and new one.
-Overview event duration during army service period.
Perhaps it is too early to discuss this issue, however, many people have been inquired it. Here is our illustration.
I believe we all know that artists probably will join army next year. Similar age as Mr, Lee Jun Ki and Mr. Kim Nan Ji are also still shooting movie or TV series in the case of recruitment, which everyone can understand that it is difficult to predict the enlistment date accurately.
Therefore, artist is most probability has to join army during Fanclub event duration.
In this case, we would like to illustrate that refund request of Fanclub membership fees is not an acceptable reason.
Hope everyone may leave message about what is the purpose of having Fanclub or any other expectation.
Although we know that many Cloud prefer quietly waiting for (do not shout) the answer, but we cannot exchange ideas if we do not provide feedback. So please be sure to pay attention to this notice, the new Fanclub recruiting method will be based on your recommendations.
Although not too much time from now to mid-November, we will fully listen to their comments.
Hopefully, at least 100 or more comments will be received. We can have more confident to run Fanclub with your opinions, short or long comments are not fine. Also, please feel free to leave message below if you have any other opinions, so that we can discuss together.

Yes, I concur with “BiAlamode” on releasing our personal number as it relates to everything we do in our home country. But so far, I had not encountered any problems with it. Cloud Mgmt need it as authentication as there were many frauds in the previous mother-site & we receive spam of all sorts from the kind of ppl we do not wish to relate to. Lolss…lose Some, Win Some…???

Thank you so much for your diligence and perseverance in trying to get more English speaking support for Rain. From where I sit you are doing an excellent job. Having said that, you mentioned that Koreans are “less open-minded” hence certain deficiencies on The Cloud web page. I have already made my personal statement regarding membership, but maybe you can communicate one other thing to the Cloud Masters. As Lotus has said and I concur, the possibility of giving out our social security numbers makes a lot of people VERY uncomfortable, this American in particular. I already went out of my comfort zone by giving my home address, but please understand we don’t want to be difficult, but personal internet security is a REAL issue. I don’t even like giving my personal information, at times, to other Americans…..(SMILES)….no offense.
The Cloud Masters need to realize that Ji-Hoon has a very real, GROWING fan base in the U.S. and other English speaking countries, as well, so the English on the site is quite justified, but they also need to know a couple things:
1) The Cloud Masters need to understand American discomfort with giving out personal information, without knowing the purpose for it. Our social security numbers are our “life’s blood” damn near in our country. EVERYTHING we do here in our home country is with our social security numbers. This number is WHO YOU ARE from the time you are born until the day you die in the U.S. The sensitivity about giving that number out to a foreign web site is a VERY REAL thing.
2) I don’t want to sound like a typical American, but I probably am at this point. But it would be nice to get an internet “Shout Out” from Ji-Hoon, in English, to let us know he hears us too and knows that we are trying our best to be there for him. I know he works primarily in his home country and I TRULY get it and have no problem with it, but I feel he needs to communicate to we English speaking Clouds a bit more sometimes. HIS English is quite good by the way, so that’s not an excuse…….(SMILES)
PLEASE don’t think I’m “bitchy”, I just think it would be cool for us to hear from him too sometimes to set Our Minds at ease. Is he even seeing the messages from us on The Cloud site? I don’t expect him to respond to us on a personal one on one basis. I’m too old to be THAT NAIVE…….(SMILES). Stephe and Terri if you deem my comments inappropriate, please delete them…..I have no problem with that.

Hmm I’m not sure. Still a little iffy on what might be offered with green status because of translation issues, so I haven’t made any suggestions. I will wait to see what they come up with before I make a decision.

So…here’s some clarification, having read some comments..my sharing so that your members can understand the problems that the current site faces…
1. Yes, http://rain-cloud.co.kr is RAIN’s Official Cloud Fan site, hence the main language is Korean. This site came to effect on 16th August 2008.
2. Many of us were already in the previous 2 Official Cloud sites when RAIN went independent wef June 2007.
3. Please understand that RAIN’s team had to struggle with doing everything themselves after the JYP days!
4. Therefore, many like myself, did our best to “communicate” with the Cloud Masters to create the English section.
5. In the previous sites, there were no English segments at all. I persevered with posting my messages in English to RAIN as he was then going thru tremendous pressure after the LA concerts cancellations & filming Speed Racer.
6. The current Official Cloud site has improved leaps & bounds where Foreign languages were included. Japanese ( is top on the list as RAIN has gargantuan support from Japanese Clouds. Love Tours are prove of his gratitude to them! ) Than the Chinese as his China/Taiwan/HK Clouds are his next largest supporters. Then, of course Our English Talk section.
7. I can understand why many of you feel a bit disappointed, seeing there may not be much support from the English-speaking Clouds. Hence, my continuous effort to “recruit” Clouds like yourselves…For this, MUCH THANKS…for all your Support & Unconditional Love for RAIN.
Let’s get back to the colored Cloud scheme…and the numbering!
Unfortunately, I have to say that I am confused myself and many of my queries to Cloud Master have not been answered. I realize that it’s not them not wanting to reply me…but I think they don’t understand my English either. And their hands are so “full” managing Korean Clouds & events that we are always (unfortunately) not primary to them. Sigh>>>
In 2007, I was a Blue Cloud, then known as Cloud 2th & somehow when this new site started, we were 6th Cloud when we officially registered!
In 2009, the registration takes us to Cloud 7th & we became Green.
Therefore, I guess when we register this year for Cloud 8th, we may just be RED??? Hahahaha…someone here mentioned RED…I love this color, too!
Q:- IS REGISTRATION NECESSARY TO BE AN OFFICIAL CLOUD?
THE ANSWER IS YES… and this is for CLOUD 8TH MEMBERSHIP
There is a YEARLY RENEWAL process.
Otherwise, you remain a Grey Cloud, which is what all of you here are already! No problem, You can still support RAIN…BUT…
For those who have the means, please join this 8th Cloud Membership as a
SIGN of OFFICIAL Support to RAIN…the numbers count in his books when computing then number of Foreign Fans he has!
To be heard, to be supported @Cloud Page, we need to make the numbers OFFICIALLY! Then we will have more clout to ask for more support from Cloud Master & Team.
I am very tired of some so-called Clouds (not you ladies,of course …I don’t wish to be misunderstood again!kekeke) who will just post some nasty comments about Overseas Clouds paying more to subsidize Home Clouds’ activities! I feel this attitude is all wrong. RAIN is Korean his activities (apart from Japan) wd likely to be focused in his home country. Isn’t it great that Home Clouds can make the NUMBERS with their PRESENCE to support RAIN on behalf of all of us who cannot make it…geographically speaking!
And Thank GOD. We have a great Cloud in huhuhuhu who does her best to attend all RAIN functions, even as far as LA for Ninja Assassin Premiere!
Yes…many of us do not have the time nor finances to do so…therefore, for those who can, we should Thank them for representing us all, am I right…

Frirstly, we thank many Clouds, like ratoka who has kept up her momentum to post many articles from “everywhere”…but many of us had “advised: her not to post any “negative” reports that usually arises from the gossip sites (u know which!)
And we have since none of those, except those that come from reputable newspapers…
Dear CloudUSA frens…I have been doing my level best to support RAIN in the English language ever since his unfortunate incident of concert cancellations in USA. To be International, he obviously need more of our support, but please note that the Koreans (to a certain extent) are less open-minded than us. So, please understand why Cloud Page has its own deficiency. Thank You.

I don’t want my personal decision to dissuade anyone if they want to register and become a paying Cloud on The Cloud website. MY apprehension has to do with the following things:
1) I have been “burned” in the past by sending money to a
business entity not located near me with no recourse to
get my money back and that left me highly pissed with
a “bad taste” in my mouth about sending money to places I
can’t get to in case there is a problem.
2) I said before I LOVE BI, but I am uncomfortable giving
personal information to a web site in a foreign country. I
am still wrapping my mind around giving out my address on
The Cloud, but I get it. They need to verify that I’m a
real person and who I claim to be.
As a twenty-something I joined Janet Jackson’s fan club, as well as The Jackson brothers fan club so I do know about the paying of a yearly fee for memberships and you do get cool stuff. All of that I have no problem with. It’s the “it’s a foreign country, that has my name, rank and serial number” that gives me pause. REAL TALK…..I’m a married woman and what I do out of my household could possibly in some way affect my husband too, even something like this. Heck even leaving some of the comments I make on this blog could be disasterous…..(SMILES), but Hubbie knows about my Rain Lust…..(SMILES).
Anyway, I don’t see myself flying to Korea for concerts and fan meetings, so other than the being able to purchase unattainable merchandise, that may be the only advantage to me becoming a member. Unless I win a contest that would bring Ji-Hoon to my door in Texas!…..(SMILES)
However, I will continue to post comments of love and support for Bi on The Cloud.

A green cloud (during any year) means you’ve paid membership dues during a membership drive and registered yourself on the fan site, whereas a gray cloud means you’ve only registered yourself on the fan site (have not paid yet).
I think I did read that a 9th year in Asian culture was seen as a favorable year, or something to that effect…

Sorry had to make a run and now I’ve read all, yes I’m slow at times so question whats the difference in cloud8 green and cloud9 except 9 is suppose to be Rain’s favorite? and whats the price’s for them and what are the benefit’s for us? unless I’m really missing something 63.00 is not enough money to be so worried about, and I don’t think JiHoon would allow his name on something that would be bocus to any of is cloud fans? I’m I wrong. And trust I don’t have money to just blow, I ain’t got it like that at all.

Before I read all everyone has wrote, I have a question? isn’t the Cloud a form of RAIN himself? and with that being said is this the fansite that said negative comments about him? if so I can see why he would want us to join he need our love and surpport, also I did finally figure out what I was doing wrong and left my comment on the site. I also feel that you Stephe and Terri s/b if your not GREEN static or higher. On all our behaves since you guys are CLODUSA, and can help us to understand things we may not be sure of. Also I don’t have a problem with fees and since I’ll not be travling to Asia just for a concert even if it is RAIN I could care less about the tickets but I would like to be able to enjoy the merchandise and wear all the RAIN stuff possible also with us has members we should have a stake in whats being said about him so it’s NOT negitive what do you think.

also, last year we cd pay thru 6to5 website…but it’s been chsnged…sigh…
Wd love to make special purchases thru The Cloud!
But heard that Korea is rather stict on “money transactions”
& restricts much in such websites…
hence their hands are tied…it was good tt 6to5 was used last year!
Pray that The Cloud Team already has taken steps to ease this membership drive.
Many ideas have been submitted & am sure will be noted.
Just hope that with more English-speaking members, there will be
greater support in terms of offering English trans as mandatory.
Currently we are depending on cuckoo who kindly translates for us,
or sometimes we get huhuhuhu to translate from the Chinese version! Much Thanks to them!

hummmmm, wondering…would membership include any direct way to purchase Rain’s products? would membership offer any type of discount? I will think about it coz I like the way Cloud 9 sounds. LOL On the other hand, they say that if there is a concert on December they are still thinking about giving tickets to Cloud 8 first round members. Hummmm, that can change my decision if Rain comes to the US. I know that “if” is a long shot but still, it makes me think about it. Let’s wait a bit and see what happens.

I Love Bi, but this is a little out of my comfort zone. I’m still getting used to just leaving comments on a foreign web site. So possibly giving even more personal information, signing up and sending “greenback”….I don’t know?! I hear my husband’s voice in my head right about now, which really has nothing to do with Bi, but being practical about our finances and such. This would be some real “ish” signing into something based in Korea.
If, heaven forbid, something were to get lost in translation, I can’t just jump on a plane to Korea to go “rip somebody a new a__s” (Stephe, you like my new catch phrase – **HeHeHeHe**).
Seriously, I think I’ll wait to hear how other’s experience is and make a decision from there.

And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. It’s a personal choice, and a person has to be completely comfortable before doing something like joining a foreign fan club.
Heck, the jury’s out on my own decision, quite frankly. I haven’t appreciated a lot of how the club’s been run for the past few years, and this year especially. I certainly haven’t appreciated the lack of voting support and mental support that Rain’s been given in 2010. However… they have pleasantly surprised me by trying to get to know English-speaking clouds better here lately, and including us on the site. I mean, that’s just never happened before.
So, for now I’m a gray cloud and happy to support Rain on the site and help them come to the best decisions they can… we’ll see how I feel about going “green” when recruitment is opened… *shrug* *leaning towards joining*

I agree with you on that BiAlamode. As much as I love Rain I am just going to have to wait. I think it can be a bit of an issue for me personally, especially if something were to go wrong…I mean I can’t speak a lick of Korean.
I have been leaving comments on The Cloud and I think it’s great that they’re giving us an opportunity to express our love for Rain. I mean let’s face if it wasn’t for Cloud USA, there would no other place that would keep us so informed IN the US about what is going on with Rain. On that note I am just not sure yet if I am down for “green” or not. However I’ll continue to show my support on The Cloud and Cloud USA, I am going to wait and see what happens when they start recruiting.

I’d love to get a membership but I think I’d rather wait till …cloud9!!!!…I love the sound of that since that’s how BI makes me feel…like I’m on cloud 9…so, I shall wait 😉
