Many of you have already seen various videos of the Cosmopolitan photo shoot that baby Rain did around his debut year.
We have marveled and gaped at how utterly contradictory he is in that footage (like a babe in the woods and yet completely aware of what his body is capable of doing. Yes, lawd.) If that footage was water, it would alternately run cold and hot. I’m just innocent… No, I’m not. I’ve never been touched… Oh, yes I have.
Something else just as obvious is how Rain developed his incredible work ethic early on. Photo shoots aren’t glamorous; like rehearsals, they are grueling and never seem to end. Yet here he is, so young but totally aware of his surroundings, listening for every instruction, always quiet and polite, never leaving his blocking, never having a “moment” or insisting on a break even to the point of mental and physical exhaustion and cramping feet.
Never letting himself get distracted—well, until he catches the camera lens trained on his bare chest several times and his shyness kicks in. Heheheh.

I’m sure you’re right about both things. He was definitely tired as hell, and he also wasn’t used to being bare-chested and exuding so much sex in front of a camera and a room full of people. This actually may have been only his first or second go-round; the other one I saw from this year looked completely schoolboy sweet and he was in no way undressed LOL.
Just imagine realizing, for the first time, how easy it was for you to “flip a switch” and ooze sex, and imagine the people’s faces on the set as they stared back at him, probably speechless.
Yeah, I’d say mortified.
And he’s gotten past that pretty well, hasn’t he? Ha!

LOL, yes, one of my favorite quotes from JYP was this one. early in Rain’s career:
“I was worried that he could never look sexy,” JYP said, “because usually sexy people have a little bit of a bad, naughty side to them. But this kid was too good, too genuine. That was—well, now, of course, I don’t have to worry about that.”

Very cute… He knew how to work it, even back then. So shy! You could see at one point that he was a little mortified at what he was doing but he did it anyway. Or maybe he was just tired and I’m reading into things. But still… adorable.

@ Stephe I know what you mean!!!! He looks young, shy and inocent but he is focused and when that camera goes… wow!! there is this sexy, simmering, smoking hot male. sigh.. love that combination.

I love seeing new footage of Rain’s early career (new to me that is). This was a great video, except the background music from the Carmen opera started to annoy me. I don’t know why cause I love operas. Anyway, I must agree….the man is the EPITOME of discipline and has a great work ethic!
