Rain isn’t just a “chick” magnet. Apparently. :)

The AskMen.com nation seems to like him just fine too, and we appreciate that.

On Rain’s celebrity profile page on the AskMen.com site, originally posted during the Speed Racer era, well before Ninja Assassin (as far as the women on his mind these days goes, Megan is out and Scarlett is IN), they say this about Ji-Hoon:

“As tempting as it is to dismiss an entertainer who calls himself Rain by choice, we can’t ignore his success and, shockingly, we support it. Unlike many of his competitors, Rain isn’t a manufactured phony. He survived a difficult childhood and a slew of industry rejections on his bumpy road to success. In a refreshing change of pace, he’s perfectly willing to make fun of himself, as his spirited 2007 appearance on The Colbert Report demonstrated. Are you listening, Kanye West?”

And they quote him as saying:

“I don’t try to wrap myself up in a pretty bow, and I hate being pretentious. I think being honest is the best policy here, and when I don’t know something, I’ll admit it.” – Rain

They even have a nice, expandable bio, which we also appreciate.  (Ignore the Usher pics—he recreated the “Singing In The Rain” number for a show, and the page seems to pick up things to do with “rain.”)

Thanks, AskMen, for showing Jung Ji-Hoon some love.

  1. ROFL,

    I so laughed at the askmen.com response to Rain in the woman magnetism section:

    “With a nickname like Puppy, you wouldn’t be far off if you accused Rain of being a sap. He’s been known to bemoan his single status at concerts, even going so far as to say “I’m lonely” and invite a female audience member onstage for a slow dance — after they’ve received flowers from him. While this is more than enough to make us smack him upside the head, the women love him for it.”

    Surprise! What women like: hot lonely men, puppies, flowers, and slow dances. Go figure. Methinks maybe the askmen.com men should be taking them some lessons…from Rain… :-}

    Terri :-}

  2. Yes I am happy they r supporting him. Now if we culd just get mtv.com off their lump n pump sum gas in their eco friendly promotion vehicle we’d hav sumthn here! (tho they did do a gud job putin him in the pop world cup, which he shredded the competition to pieces lol) Im happy Jihoon is not looked at as sum prepackaged ken doll singer. Hes worked hard 4 everythin he has and deserves the best. Muchas!
