As soon as the music for Hip Song started the floor of sardines suddenly all became live otters and created a sea wave on the floor. If you didn’t follow the flow, you would simply be pushed to nowhere land. We had to move along with the flow during the whole concert, but Hip Song created a small tsunami. Our prince wore a Mazinger Z tee. Knowing the super power he had over us, he put a hand V over his chin, admiring himself and letting us admire him, then pointed to the Mazinger picture on his tee and gave us a nod that he was Mazinger himself. Couldn’t remember when, he even held up his arm, showed his strong muscle to boast his strength. Couldn’t blame him for showing off, he was indeed in his top form!
I believed the talk part was after “With You” and “Fresh Woman” (I could be wrong). In the first night he said he’s happy that we would celebrate his birthday together in Fukuoka. He probably even asked if we had prepared birthday gifts for him! My guess was as good as the translator, who had proved himself very incapable the second night. Our prince said something. The translator said a few words and stopped. Our prince turned his head toward the translator and gave a puzzled look. He probably thought the translator did not catch his words so he repeated again. The translator stopped again at the exact spot. Our prince waited and gave an even more puzzled, a “this is unbelievable” look. He then gave a helpless, apologetic smile and said to us in Korean: “That’s OK right?” Yes, prince, the translator was a cyborg, but that’s OK. [Good one, huhu! LOL — Stephe ^@@^]
I learned from my Japanese friend later what our prince said. Indeed the first night was about celebrating his birthday in Fukuoka (it seemed we could expect to have some kind of birthday party). The second night however he talked about the World Cup. He told us that he was happy South Korea made to the final 16. Now he would cheer for Japan. (I believed Japan would play its critical game on 25 June? The following was my guess again. It could be totally wrong so please bear with me.) He asked who would have to stay home to watch the game instead of going to Fukuoka to watch him, and he said jokingly “I hate it.” He asked another question and asked us to put up our hands. (Again I guessed he asked how many of us will follow him to Fukuoka.) Then he asked us to put up our hands again for a better count, and said something about 70%. He seemed impressed. Dear prince, please deduct one hand from whatever answer you are seeking, because I just followed the flow and put up my hand too without knowing the question! Such was the accuracy of statistics!
The background screen changed to a highway when our prince sang Free Way and asked us “Come on and ride with me.”
After “Free Way”, it was “You.” If I remembered correctly, our prince had never sung “You” in a live concert – except the 625 fashion show concert. At that time he was leading the models, so there weren’t many dance movements. This time, he’s surrounded by sexy lady dancers and performed some sexy dancing of course. Then he walked up to the high stage, sat on the chair in the middle, and enjoyed being spoiled by his admirers before he disappeared to change. He had severe prince syndrome! [LOL! ^@@^]
During his change time the big screen showed the Love Song MV. There were some shots I had not seen before – I wondered if it was in the DVD that goes with the Japanese version of the Back to the Basic album. In the first night his Love Song outfit was black and gold, in the second night it was white and diamond. [ATL ice! 🙂 ^@@^]
And we knew it was coming to an end when he sang “To You.” He thanked us and disappeared.
We cheered for his name and encore. After a while the words “Back to the Basic” appeared on the big screen, followed with a video clip, showing the various periods of our prince. Our prince read out his message in Japanese. Reading from the Chinese characters amongst the Japanese subtitles on the screen, I could see that our prince was thanking his fans for their love and support over the years, and said that he would continue to work hard. His melodious, sincere voice touched the hearts of everyone. The ending shot of the video was our prince performing his first album song, “Instead of Saying Good Bye”, the fresh, young boy in his first year of debut. Red balloons dropped from the ceiling. It was chaos when everyone tried to snatch one.
And the screen rose and the music of “Instead of Saying Good Bye” started. Our prince, after 8 years, performed the song once again. It was very touching to see his good friend, Baegka, appeared on stage side by side with him in the second night. [ » OMG, it was BbaekGa! Gosh! ^@@^] They performed the song together. Baegka wore a beanie, with a thick hoodie over a tee. Our prince, on the other hand, just wore a white Love Tour short sleeve tee.
After the song it was the dance part. Our prince was in excellent mood. He cheered for all the dancers to give a solo performance. We could see him smile so happily as he watched them. He then walked towards Baegka and spoke something in his ear. Baegka nodded and then the two of them got to the centre of the stage and performed a duet dance. The friendship, the love, the support could be felt and seen in their beautiful, powerful dance.
Our prince gave a solo after this. I could feel his happiness, and I wanted such happiness to be with him forever. Even though he had to bow and say goodbye to us finally, even though I smelled like a days old dead fish afterwards, we both had a most wonderful time together.
It was raining the second day of the concert. It was raining in Fukuoka as I typed out this fan account.
Thank you dear prince, for a wonderful date.
