World Cup Updates: Day 1, Friday.

REALITY:  FIFA World Cup 2010

South Africa 1 — Mexico 1 (tie)

France 0 — Uruguay 0 (tie)

On Saturday, South Korea goes against Greece, and the US battles England.  “USA… all the way!”  “Dae… han-min!-guk!  Hoh!”  (This is horrible.  I’ve always been a bit fond of English teams, especially West Ham and Manchester U…  Gah!  Well, may the best team win!)

And by the way, Figgy & Fatty made Stephe a very happy bunny today by posting an awfully delicious pic of Team South Korea commandeering the soccer field as sharp-dressed men.  Have mercy.  » Oh do check it out.

FANTASY:  MTV World Cup of Rock 2010

Mexico (guitar god Carlos Santana):  62% of the vote

France (Air, Daft Punk, MC Solaar, Soprano, Phoenix):  38% of the vote

(Choose to view the results.)  Score one for Mexico…!

There doesn’t seem to be a predetermined list of matches posted, so we’re not sure what countries will be up for competition today.  Please check the » MTV Newsroom Blog regularly so that you don’t miss Rain and South Korea’s chance to advance toward MTV Gold.

If MTV USA sees that we will indeed respond enthusiastically and respectfully whenever they include Rain in their activities, that just may lead to bigger and better things for our Ji-Hoon there.  I think they are testing the waters, so let’s support him, Clouds. Aja!
