싸이보그지만 괜찮아 (I’m A Cyborg): Il-Sun is smarter than you think.

This entire movie is  simply delightful and a personal favorite.  I’m so glad Ji-Hoon did it and put his own spin on Park Il-Sun, a character about as far away from mega-icon Rain as you can get.  What a challenge, and a fine addition to his résumé.  Here is my favorite section of the movie, English-subbed (well, in addition to That Mega-Kiss, that is).  Enjoy!

Il-Sun definitely had issues, but he was a lot more sane than people thought.  And smart enough to save the woman he loved (Young-Goon) from starving herself to death by playing her own game.  Brilliant.  (courtesy of funkydragonetc @YT)

  1. i never, ever get tired of watching this movie..the more i watch the more eliments if find that i missed. it has me giggling at times and i know those who don’t know Rain’s acting abilities would never in a million years think this is the same guy in Ninja Assassin or Speed Racer or any of his dramas. he is just that good.

  2. IA he was smart enough to hold a job and stuff but when he knew things weren’t going well he checked himself in. Also i think being there made him feel less “crazy” and allowed himself to not let dignoisis take over his life.
~First think i saw when i was getting into him i got it off ebay, I love these type of movies just off to the left a bit. I was like who is this~~ this is not that guy on the stage. WHY WHY hasn’t he made more movies. It’s one thing to do a tv drama or action first project other factors take over but this type of film you have to go inside and find something and switch it on. It’s not your typical first project type thing. IF like it was this person would easily easily turn heads, like he did. I really wish Korean film makers would write something for him NOT DRAMAS but why wouldn’t they want him on their own big screen. Independant, blockbuster etc etc anything.

    • I agree, Honey2thaB,

Someone needs to write something special just for Rain, so he can show off his incredible dramatic range. And not an action flick, for goodness’ sake. Something special. Something with every emotion in it: tragedy, comedy, romance. Something BIG.

What an amazing actor he is. And sadly, there’s absolutely no piece in the world yet in which he can showcase his talent.

If it’s frustrating for us, it’s got to be hell for him.
