Rain & Ken Jeong win MTV Movie Awards.
Mochi Magazine 6/7/2010 — At last night’s notoriously pop-culture-infested and entertainingly over-the-top 2010 MTV Movie Awards (hosted by the hilarious Aziz Ansari, who is best known for his role on NBC’s Parks and Recreations), two Asian entertainers went away with a famed golden popcorn award in hand. Korean singer and actor Rain (a.k.a. Bi) won the award for “Biggest Baddass Star” for his role in “Ninja Assassin,” while Korean American actor Ken Jeong won the “Best WTF Moment” for his outrageous performance as the villainous Mr. Chow in “The Hangover.”
Rain’s victory is particularly noteworthy, as it marks the first time in history that a native Korean has won an MTV Movie Award. In addition, he beat out the likes of Angelina Jolie in “Salt,” Chris Pine in “Star Trek,” Channing Tatum in “G.I. Joe,” and Sam Worthington in “Avatar” to garner his win—and looked rather handsome in a sleek, all-black clothing ensemble as he accepted his award….
