Today, we pause and reflect on our fallen heroes.
It is Memorial Day here in the United States.
As the daughter of a retired Air Force veteran with 21 years served (my father was one of the first Black men to desegregate the US military back in 1956), I honor not only our dead, but the men and women who continually put their lives on the line for us every day. These people have made the rights and safety of every human being on the Earth their personal priority, and we honor their sacrifice.
Spend more time with your families and loved ones today. Fill the hours with hugs, laughter, good food, and great company. Terri and I are doing just that.

We shall remember those who gave their life for our freedom, my son was in the Army and served 2 years in Iraq, thank God he is home safe, hopefully the rest of the troops can come home soon!!

Thank you for posting this. I think a lot of people lose sight about what Memorial Day is about. I am grateful to everyone that has served or is currently serving in the military. My husband served in the Army and Navy.
