The Military pot is stirred yet again.
There is a hot little snippet going around the Internet this morning because of an article that just came out of Money Today at NewsNate.com… The article is mainly an overview, it seems, on Korean men going in and out of the army these days, the terms they serve, why they must serve, et cetera. And apparently, in this piece, there is a one-sentence statement about Rain that translates:
“Hanryu star Rain also plans to join the army as early as this year or by the end of next year.” (Thanks, Rain Europe and Indulging In Rain’s World.)
As soon as one of our source sites writes about this or expounds on it, we’ll bring you that article. In the meantime, just remember: With Rain’s new albums coming out in April and October, the new drama J.Tune is talking about, as well as an encore concert overseas in the works, it sounds reasonable that he would set an end of this year or end of next year military date, because we’ll have plenty of fresh, finished Rain projects to keep us happy and waiting for him then. (The only problem would be if the military is pulling shenanigans behind the scenes right now to get those projects put on hold and Rain in uniform earlier than planned. Heaven forbid. At least let the man finish.)

Well, one thing we know for sure is that Rain is being very tight-lipped about the whole subject, as he should be. He isn’t making any statements to anyone or talking about it AT ALL–to anyone. So I wish all the big news outlets would stop trying to get him to talk, and stop making statements as if he has talked when we know good and darned well the man hasn’t said anything.
Big News Outlet: *yeah, we’ll put Rain’s name in this article, because he’s got to be going sometime*
Until rain-jihoon.com Cloud master slaps a notice up, or Rain or J.Tune calls a press conference and gives everyone a quotable statement about his service directly OUT OF THEIR OWN MOUTHS, let it go.

Hello all,
I have confirmed (via Google Translator) that the referenced article does say that Rain plans to join the military. But the date mentioned in the article is late “NEXT YEAR,” which would be the end of 2011.
Certainly, it would make sense to delay his departure until then, because he’s planning several projects for this year (releasing some new albums and filming a new drama for starters). And yet we know he will be 30 in a few years, so he’s gotta go reasonably soon.
Yes, yes. We know this is an inevitability. We really do. But do we have to talk about it RIGHT NOW? It will be bad enough when it gets here. Talk about a drought. Sigh.
Let’s wait for the official announcement from JTune, shall we??? And stop talking about it. It depresses me.
