Rain is #16 of 40 Forbes Korea top celebrities?
[ *ETA 2: This post at allkpop clinches it and gives things perspective. Forbes Korea conducted a survey and their list is the result. » Thanks for the assist, allkpop.
*ETA: Forbes Korea.com shows that this is their current cover (for February or for March?). It would be nice if we could blow it up and check out the small print… ]
Several sites across the Internet have posted this news with the Kim Yu-Na cover below: Forbes Korea has named their list of the 40 most powerful celebrities in South Korea in their March 2010 issue… and Rain is number 16 on that list.
You can see this Forbes list, headed by Kim Yu-Na, » at Thai News HERE, or at » leeseunggiworld, HERE. (What’s with the bad English on the cover?)

I’ve noticed that Forbes Korea.com sometimes shows the CEO cover or the Kim Yu-Na cover, at any given moment. The “current issue” switches back and forth, depending on whether or not you translate the page. You be your own judge.

Well, as I said, forbeskorea.com shows both covers, depending on whether you translate the page to English or load it in Hangul. I have no clue as to why that is. I have no clue as to why the Yu-Na cover feels strange to me. But since it has no real bearing on the fate of the world… I’m moving on.

you mean they did a survey in one day?? she just won the gold medal!!! and yes, right now she certainly would be #1 (but she’s not an entertainer, she is the top sport figure) i just saw a run down of her income, estimated at about 8mil per annum. with expectations to double in the coming year. i also noticed a comment that says this news is a year old. i am hoping also, that i see this announcement in some of the Korean news on line. I didn’t find anything yet. and finally if they are looking at $’s generated in Korea from CF’s and TV appearances, Rain at #16 is reasonable, since he’s been out of the country more than he has been in. i also noticed that Forbes published it’s Feb. issue on the 15th, do they have different release dates each month and mis-spelled words on their cover?

hunh, hunh..i’m suspicious again, hahaha
it just doesen’t seem to me that Forbes would have a cover with Kim Yu-Na and the other two on it’s cover. Forbes is a business mag. on second thought i can see Kim Yu-Na (since she just won her gold medal and has plenty of endorsments), but does Forbes really publish a mag for just celebraties?? i didn’t know they did that, but i sure can’t grasp how Lee Hyori, 2PM, BigBang,Ha Jiwon comes before Rain or some of the others on that list ahead of him, for that matter being the “Most Powerful Celebrities” in Korea?? so not true.

I suppose it is their determination–there wasn’t very much information, just a translation of the actual list from Hangul into English and not a write-up, per se. When I went to Forbes Korea.com, they still had what I presume was their February cover up on their site, so no luck there.
I must say this cover bothered me. And I’m still not comfortable with it. Not sure why…
