WHAT is North Korea thinking?
How about putting your guns away? What are you doing over there?
» Tension In The Korean Peninsula Escalates Again, at the IDSA
No, this isn’t Rain news, this isn’t Kpop news, but you’d best believe that if things don’t calm down… Rain, his friends, family, entertainment colleagues in and out of the army, and every man, woman, and child in South Korea will be affected in a most disastrous way.
Everyone pray for this impasse to be resolved, for Korea’s sake.

well, steph you know all of this is so burdened with politics until it tires a person out just trying to understand it. i read about the Korean war and a lot of current stuff, trying to get some understanding as to why No. Korea aggervates the So. like it does…not to long ago there was a scrimish on the water boarder line because some fishermen from the So. almost cross over. the No. fired warning missles. i just can’t understand why folks have such a hard time discussing and keeping their words if promises are made. (to me that’s what seems at issue here) before these six party talks started it had been agreed that the No. would receive certain support if they stopped their development. the support for electric, food etc., was apart of the agreement. this was under the So. President who committed suicide. (the No. and So. had a good working relationship and were making progress). but the new Pres. came into power, made some changes, the agreement wasn’t lived up to and the bombs started flying from the No. to express their displeasure about certain things. i really, really hope things develop for this country and somehow the citizens can all have peace. afterall each of these small (43mil on one side and about 30 mil or so on the other) nations have relatives living on each side. there are so many conflicting issues, who knows what will happen. i just hope it will be for the best. but your right, if war breaks out, Rain and a lot of others will have to serve.

I’m glad you didn’t find anything more, busy, because I didn’t either and at least I know I wasn’t just missing something. (I did see about Kim’s birthday, though. And I did see where he insisted that the US be involved in helping settle things.)
That the entire situation has been going on as long as it has shocks me more than anything else. I just think there are better ways of fixing things that just shooting across your border.
Thanks for checking this out.

i went on a hunt to find something, anything about this. i haven’t so far. i notice the article mentions the end of Jan. that this happened, but since then i have seen where the President of So. Korea has said he will consider talks with the North if they agree to come back to the six-party talks. Japan has visited there recently to meet Kim Jon-Ill about these talks.
but as of right now, both Koreas are in a state of celebration. the South in heavy travel to ancestrial grounds and of course celebrating Lunar New Year. the N. is celebrating their leader’s birthday throughout the country with plans of making it a national holiday and all kinds of sports, ice skating etc. is taking place there. it seems like this is a study paper or something, but nothing at all is reported in current Korean news or on tv. hummmm but you know what, they have been having scrimmages off and on for the past year. but, i doubt it will result in an all out war between the two nations.

I am hoping that there is better news as the day has worn on. There may be.

Korea’s Unification Ministry and N. Korea started their employment sharing project again…hummmm
