In one month, our dreams will come true! Rain’s new TV drama Red Swan (English title)… 화인가스캔들 (Korean title, which translates to Hwa-in Family Scandal)… comes to Disney Plus for 10 episodes.

Synopsis by Asian Wiki: Wan-Soo (Kim Ha-Neul) reached the top of her sport as a golf player. Dreaming of having a perfect life within the upper class, she marries the successor of the Hwa-in Group. Now, Wan-Soo works as the chairperson for a foundation and has gained worldwide fame through her charity work. She has Do-Yoon (Rain) as her new bodyguard. Do-Yoon, who graduated from the police university, excels in the martial arts. He joined the Hwa-in Group’s security team for a specific reason. Synopsis courtesy of IMDB: ➡️ Oh Wan-soo is a woman born into an impoverished family who turned her life around by becoming a world-class golfer attracting the attention of many, including her future husband, heir to the Hwa-in Group, Kim Yong-guk. Struggling to clear her mother’s debt, Wan-soo agreed to marry Yong-guk but quickly became unhappy after discovering her husband’s infidelities. For over 10 years, she has stayed with her husband, determined to make it work, but things quickly begin to change on the biggest night of her life. Shortly after arriving in Manila for her debut appearance as a Goodwill Ambassador, Wan-soo is caught in the middle of a hail of gunfire, narrowly escaping thanks to the heroic actions of the company bodyguard, Seo Do-yoon. Soon after, Wan-soo begins to develop feelings for Do-yoon, reconsidering her whole life up until that night but little does she know Do-yoon’s real motivation for working for the Hwa-in Group.

My own two cents to add into the mix: The original Korean title 화인가스캔들 (Hwa-in Family Scandal) is quite interesting to me. Firstly, 스캔들 is the English word “scandal” spelled in Hangeul, pronounced the same (su-scan-dul). Secondly, 화인가 romanized is Hwa-in-ga, which refers to what looks like the company/conglomerate’s name. And that is your Korean lesson for the day! 🙂

I’ve seen it also called Fine Family Scandal, Oh What A Scandal, Fine Group Scandal, Hwaga Scandal, Why Is It Scandal, Fine Ga Scandal, and A Scandal, and several others. I don’t know if that’s due to faulty translators or not, but because of my reasoning above, I’m sticking with Hwa-in until further notice.
