The 사랑의열매 (Fruit of Love) Social Welfare Community Chest of Korea is a South Korean nonprofit organization launched in 1998 and is the only government-sanctioned charity in that country. It is South Korea’s largest welfare institution and supports various welfare organizations. This past September, Rain and the lovely Chuu (formerly of girl group Loona) became spokespersons for Fruit of Love and filmed the charity’s year-around advertisement. ^@@^

Flea Markets and Season B Season.
On November 4, 2023 Rain held a public flea market (his first!) in Seoul selling a portion of his own things at discount in order to raise donations for Fruit of Love Community Chest. It was a rousing success and raised a total of 9,455,000 KRW (just over $7,000. USD). Rain then added his own money to the pot, which he’d already planned on doing, and made the total donation 100,000,000 KRW (just over $75,000. USD). ^@@^
His one-day flea market (with longtime friend and singer KCM) is shown in Season 4 Episode 9 of his YouTube entertainment channel Season B Season. I tell you, this is one of those videos that makes you wish you lived in Seoul so you could’ve shown up on the scene and gone shopping!

Spreading the value of sharing.
On November 10, spokesmodel Rain visited the Fruit of Love Community Chest Center in Jung-gu, Seoul and presented the full donation to the Chairman and the Secretary-General. (This is also included in the above episode.) Needless to say, they were thrilled out of their shoes, especially because his actions mirrored the purpose of their mission about citizens “demonstrating positive influence through donation.”
Chairman Kim Byeong-jun was quoted as saying in the resulting article on their website: “Singer Rain has established himself as a top star representing Korea by demonstrating his charm and talent as an irreplaceable presence in many fields such as singing, acting, and entertainment. He’s made a good influence through donations following his appearances in advertisements, and I’m deeply grateful for that.” After mentioning Rain’s recent dramas, music, recent performances at home and abroad, and Season B Season, the chairman ended with, “Rain is continuing his solid career as an all-around entertainer working in various fields including broadcasting and special interests.”
