Vote for RAIN: 2014 MNet Asian Music Awards (MAMAs)

There are SO many polling opportunities out there that include Rain, that it’s often difficult to tell which ones are important and which aren’t. Let me be frank. Most of them aren’t important. That is the main reason you don’t see Cloud USA promoting them, because although they are fun, most of these popularity polls truly don’t matter much in the long run, and we know your time is precious.
However, this one is different. This one IS important. Why?
Well, for those of you who don’t know, the MNet Asian Music Awards, held annually by CJ E&M through its music network television channel MNet, is one of the most IMPORTANT events in the South Korean music industry. It’s a big deal.
Luckily, the MAMAs poll is also of the few critical Korean music industry polls that global fans actually get a chance to influence through their international online poll. YAY for us!
Rain has won 5 MAMA’s during his music career and has been nominated for 9 of them. This year’s event is also a special award ceremony to us Clouds, because this is the first time Rain has been nominated for the MAMAs awards since he completed his military service and made his comeback last year.
Lucky for us, Rain did manage to prepare a short performance for the MAMAs show last year. And what an amazing performance it was—so exciting for those of us who had missed him so terribly while he was away. (In case you missed that stellar performance, you can still watch it on MNet’s Official YouTube Channel. ♥)
The bottom line is if you are going to spend your precious time voting for Rain online somewhere, then please do it here. Your participation will mean a lot not just to Rain, but also to us here at Cloud USA and beyond.

You will need to register with MNet or another social media site and be logged in to vote.
Rain has been nominated in 4 categories:
- #2 – Best Male Artist
- #8 – Best Dance Performance Solo
- # 16 – Union Pay Artist of the Year
- #17 – Union Pay Song of the Year
(Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the arrows to maneuver between categories.)
Voting period:
- 6:00 PM KST on Monday, 10/27/14 through Midnight KST on Tuesday, 12/02/14
You are allowed to vote ONCE per day per account (I.e., MNet ID/Facebook page/Twitter account). So, if you have multiple accounts, you should be able to vote multiple times per day.
After you vote, you’ll receive a ROSE for voting. Please send your ROSE to RAIN.
You must send him a rose so that his star ranking will go up. The star who collects the most roses each day will get a special promotional banner displayed on his/her MAMA voting page the next day!
Right now, Rain is at #24 in the star ranking. So, please vote for RAIN and remember to send him a rose to help push his star ranking even higher. ♥
Don’t forget to also watch the awards show in December to cheer Rain on. The details of the ceremony event are listed below.

Hi Terri, I’m new-ish to the KPop but growing to love it. Could you tell me the difference between the actual awards show (is it called the “ceremony”?, the “Red Carpet Party” and “After Party” – are they all at the same venue this year (2014), if not do you know where the after party will be held? I’ll be in HK during the MAMA but clueless on HK ticketing etc. Thanks!

Hi! So other fans of other groups are saving their roses and picking a day or days to vote all at the same time to push their favorite performer ahead.
Is there anyway we can all unite like that. To vote and then save our roses to all vote on exactly the same day to hopefully get it up where he has the most votes that day rather than scattered rose giving?
Just a thought as I keep giving roses and he’s down below and I’m all damn!! lol

Terri and Steph: Rain’s roses dropped from over 7200 when I voted yesterday(15th) place to the 5000’s. What could have caused that? I’ve been wAtching that rose count closely. I opened new accounts to vote for him but the the rules say that’s okay right? He’s in 17th from yesterday but that rose count definitely fell. Thanks Beth….:-)

To me that means that just as fast as Clouds vote and get him new roses, these other little fangirls start voting their little butts off for their biases. They are kids with nothing to do except vote all day. It can get hard for working Clouds to vote like that.
Of course I could be wrong……………………………….

Plus the whole having to vote in all 17 categories before your vote applies….SUCKS, especially for somebody like me who doesn’t follow the K-Pop groups like that. I follow Rain….that’s it. I could give a rat’s _ss about the others on the list. If you could vote for your bias only, that would’ve helped speed the process along IMHO.

I’m voting every day–twice a day, actually, since they’re letting me use two different accounts.
Unfortunately, we don’t seem to be making much headway against all of the Taeyang and Exo fangirls. Sigh.
Actually, they let me vote with Cloud USA’s Twitter account too today, so that’s THREE times I get to vote each day. Yay! I wonder why I couldn’t do that before? Maybe it was something I did wrong.

ANSWER: I tried to vote for only the 4 categories Rain was in but they would not register. You have to vote in all 17 categories and click FINISH for your vote to count as registered.

Isn’t it though? About to go put in my votes. I was able to vote with both my MNet ID and my Facebook, but that’s it. It’s either Twitter or Facebook, but not both, apparently.

I don’t know if you can only vote for the 4 categories Rain is in. I didn’t try. But I’m a K-Pop fan and so I knew who I wanted to vote for in all of the other categories anyway right away.
