Jung Ji-hoon of Drama ‘My Lovely Girl’ to Go Back to the Basics

The press conference for SBS’s upcoming drama ‘My Lovely Girl’ was held at Mok-dong, Seoul. Jung Ji-hoon, Krystal(Jung Soo-jung), Cha Ye-ryun, L (Kim Myung-soo) of Infinite, Park Young-kyu, Kim Jin-woo, Hae-ryung of Bestie participated.

Producer Park Hyung-ki said, “A man, who lost his love and turned his back on the world, becomes a ‘Daddy Long Legs’ when he meets sister of his love. They embrace and cure each other.”

Jung Ji-hoon will appear as a very competent music producer named ‘Hyun-wook’ who had been through hard time because of aftereffect from a car accident. He finds out Sena(Krystal)’s talent as a musician and comes back into musical circles to help Sena.

Jung Ji-hoon said, “I came back to the small screen in 4 years. I gave a really careful thought to choosing a drama.”

When asked if he was under pressure about appearing in this drama, he said, “We are all having great time at the shooting site. Partners in my previous dramas have always been older than me, but now I am older than my partner. So, she always respects me. In fact, I felt little laid back after finished my film abroad. So, I went back to the basics and trained pronunciation and vocalization again for about 3 months.”

“When it comes to acting, I think, if a person has great basic skills, then he or she is able to have great harmony with partners. I studied and learned hard in order to speak in accurate pronunciation so that viewers can clearly get my line,” he added.

Regarding his partner Krystal who is 12 years younger than him, he said, “It was first time to work with Krystal. She is smarter than any one in her age. Her acting is also very natural.”

When asked why he chose this drama, which is like a fairy tale, he answered, “I thought this drama would break stereotype against celebrities. Also, this drama depicts life of celebrities in more genuine way. Story of Sena and Hyun-wook, competition between me and other producers and conflict against father are very realistic.“

Lastly, Jung Ji-hoon said, “I think this drama will bring many issues that people can talk and discuss.”
