Hear ye, hear ye!
WHAT: It’s time for another Cloud USA get-together, where we can all get our Rain-on and celebrate his return to the world stage. Only this time, the super cell won’t be hovering over Atlanta like the others have, but over “Nawlinz.” The Big Easy. New Orleans, Louisiana.
WHERE: Cloud USAer Gee is graciously opening her home to Clouds and other Rain fans for the event. She lives only about a mile away from every major hotel in the city, so she won’t be hard to find. She is planning an amazing menu of New Orleans dishes, and there is even going to be soju. 🙂 For anyone who might be worried about hotel AND travel expenses, Gee’s house is large, and she has four extra beds (a set of twin beds and two queen-sized beds), if you need to save on some money. She’d love the company!
WHEN: Saturday night, September 28, 2013 at 7 PM until. (You heard right. UNTIL!)

As we understand it, there is a big football game in town that same weekend between the New Orleans Saints and the Miami Dolphins. So, don’t wait too long to make concrete plans as to where you’re going to stay. A good idea is to check for lodgings in Metairie, as that is only five minutes from downtown New Orleans and five minutes from Gee’s home. There are quite a few options on Causeway Blvd. (the Hampton Inn Metairie, the Sheraton Metairie, the New Orleans Marriot Metairie, the Holiday Inn Metairie, etc.) We know of one Cloud who has already made reservations at the Sheraton.
Gee is planning goodie bags and door prizes in addition to great food, and we’re bringing some Rain goodies with us from Atlanta to give away and some classic Rain entertainment to enjoy. So, you can bet a great time will be had by all. 🙂

Alright Cloud Sisters let’s talk, I see alot of talk about eating and drinking. In New Orleans the party is alway BYOB! That means bring your own bottle. Whatever you drink, bring it! I have enough food (maybe) (smile) but let’s be real this is not a resturant. (smile) I Love yall (even the ones I haven’t met) but let’s be real. I’am going to show all of you the best Southern fun possible. I want everyone to also know (cause I know you watch the news) treat this place like any other place you travel as strange. Pay attention to where your at and your soroundings. I have no fear here because I m always paying attention to where I m at. Just a note to all of you. As far as drinking, well all I can say, ” I’m from New Orleans and this is what I’ll pass time is” meaning do what you want. Anyone who can’t make it out of here, (my house) will have to stay and sleep it off. LOL! I will take care of all of you, believe me. I have the best family and friends any one person could ask for or wish for. You will be in good hands. I m so excited and happy to be your host in one of the funniest cities in the US. (smile)

Point(s) taken miss Gee! I, for one, you won’t have to worry about. I’ve got 2 “road dogs” coming with me to the Big Easy. I definitely plan to be able to make it back to the hotel. Dee Dee is not a big drinker…..believe me. I still have to be “coaxed” into a drink. Also, when it comes to eating don’t take my earlier comments too much to heart. I don’t “pile it on” either. I guess everyone is beginning to feel the excitement of Clouds getting together, but I don’t personally want you to feel put upon. Besides even if I was inclined to get out of line (which I’m not)…..there’s a little short non-Cloud who would gladly “pull my ear” to get me to straighten up and fly right. So no worries.

(^_^) Sounds like so much fun! I’m really near but unfortunately will not be attending this time (prayerfully the next time, though). Take some vitamins a while before drinking (for easier strength, energy & recovery after), and bring Pepto-Bismol pills to take RIGHT AFTER drinking as a sour stomach preventive/stomach settler, just in case…Third thing- bring electrolyte drink/water or coconut water to drink in the morning WITH ANOTHER vitamin a bit before breakfast, or in place of breakfast if you’re still a bit queasy & will skip eating. This triple combo works beautifully for me, and these could be on hand at the place of gathering for everyone & to take with back to your respective hotels.
I’m sorry to sound like a Debbie Downer (“SERIOUSLY, Ms. Stranger Mom!”)<<< LOL, right? But it's too easy to go overboard and the aftereffects are bummer…! So, just in case you've never thought of these things.
I use a small, whole food capsule vitamin that I take each day (can name it here if anyone is interested) because those kind can be taken on an empty stomach and never makes you sick. At least, they've never made me sick like all the synthetic hard vitamins, nor have my sisters had any problems. I don't recommend any drugstore/big box brands.
^^^^^ With all that being said: Sing a lot, EAT A LOT and do group performances (LOL!) to "Rainism", Hip Song" " Instead of Saying Goodbye", and Love Song" <<< but of course keep it all on. :)) And make up a "secret" Cloud dap before you depart, yes? I'm thinking you can start with a couple of head toss slide front-claps, on to 1 overhead slide-clap, then straight into a little switch-foot/bounce with an over the hair to side of face to chest to stomach hand slide- and sealed with a snap & a hand slap. ("I'm gonna be a bad boy, I'm gonna be a bad boooyyy…")….. I'm dying with laughter in my head imagining this future greeting, and at the same time oh-so-serious. It's like I'm already there, even though it hasn't started and I can't even go. 😦 Maybe I'l just perfect this on my on and then dap Rain Bi if I ever meet him. 😉
And if you're all non camera-shy (I'm camera shy so I understand if you don't wanna): Make a short vid/pic compilation of the gathering, please…????? (Your performances don't have to be included, that part of my imaginings is just fun to think about it in my head!)

Thank you for the good advice. Really, we are not going to be drinking too much. So no worries there. Or at least I’m not. I don’t believe in drinking and driving period, and I will be driving. So, that leaves me out of the heavy drinking department. Besides, I’m not as young or as resilient as I used to be. That being said, we do thank you so much for the tips.
Don’t know how much we can get the group in front of a camera, but we will at least try to do a group picture, okay? And I do hope some of us will get to do some sightseeing together on Sunday…if we don’t party too long into the night, of course. Um…okay, maybe it’ll be a Sunday dinner out. LOL.

I checked the Spec’s web site and there was no Korean beer/soju to be found. However, I do realize web sites are not necessarily reliable and there are several Spec’s locations to choose from. I was going to just stop by one on my way to New Orleans, but if you’re going to that’s cool. I don’t have to have “spirits” actually. I’m not a big drinker. *SMILES*

Hite Max, if you can find it, is one of the best, as far as I’m concerned. Of course, that’s among Korean beers, not among other beers. Just about ANY beer from anywhere else is better than Korean beer–even Budweiser. OMG, I can’t believe I just complimented Bud. GAG. LOL. (Me, I’m more of a Guinness girl myself.)
How much you want to buy is up to you alone. We really are going to try to find some maekju too from somewhere before we head out.

I’m glad you put that qualifier on top of the post, Stephe, but like you, I’m now wondering if Peachi meant it the way we thought she did. Maybe she didn’t. Maybe she will speak up soon. Peachi, where are you, my lady?
Again, let me reiterate: Rain will NOT be there. This is just a plain old Cloud USA get-together. Except instead of having it in Atlanta, we are going to have it in New Orleans. Me, I’m just going to enjoy the fact that I’m in New Orleans and NOT at work. (Halleluia!) Of course, being with other Clouds is an exceptional bonus. :-}
If this meeting works out well, maybe we can have meetings in other states as well? What do you all think? Would that be fun? Traveling around the country meeting ladies who love Rain? If you can’t come to us, we’ll come to YOU. Sounds like a win-win to me.

Ohh, how I’d love to be there, but , it is the day before my grandbaby’s first birthday. It would be too far to travel overnight (rats!). I’m sure you all will have a grand time and how gracious of Gee to open her home! Safe travels for everyone and have some fun for me. Maybe next time. 😦
