[Fan account] Time with Rain in Bangkok – Sonic Bang 2013

3 days 4 nights with RAIN in Bangkok

We heard about “Sonic Bang Music Festival 2013” around June when it was about to start selling ticket, at that time we were dreamily-jokingly that Rain should come to this event and join with all that big name artists. Few days later, it was revealed that there will be the last and surprise artist whom will be announced on July 11th, 2013!!!…Uh-oh..besides of our beloved Rain, who else will have reason to be waited to be announced until July 11th???? Few weeks before July 10th, Sonic Bang gave us more clue and made us more excited with a shadow picture of “That must be Rain” on TV ad. ^^

After we were all flooded with photo and news from Seoul on July 10th, then the most exciting news came, the last confirmed artist of Sonic Bang was RAIN…..really RAIN!!!!! ==SCREAMMMMMM==

Even the name was confirmed and many of us already bought tickets soon after that, we were all aware that thing could be changed, especially when Cloud 8th fan-meeting was cancelled just a week before its schedule. Thus, when Sonic Bang released a video of Rain confirmed his coming, we were all more than happy and relieved…After 2 years, after all those messed up things with him, after been quiet with no news- no photo-no words……Rain would have first appearance here in Bangkok!!! YEAH!!! ^^

As this was quite special occasion for us, “Only Rain-Thailand”, we even prepared T-shirts and small banners for this concert, to show our love for RAIN.

August 22nd :

Then came the day of his arrival,
I went to welcome him at the airport, luckily that I arrived there quite early at around 7 PM and was able to wait at the 1st Fl while most of fans that came a bit late (because of the bad traffic caused by heavy rain in the evening) had to wait to see him from the 2nd FL. Sonic Bang setup a backdrop for photo session of their artists in front of the gate, and many media reporters were gathering there for Rain.

Just few minutes before Rain walked out from the gate, the reporters were getting ready on their spots, then I just moved to the side of all reporters with few fans there, and be able to see him quite closely and take a short vid of him and a beautiful shot of his greeting in Thai style..it was soooooo exciting moment. He was so gorgeous, his aura, his handsome, his charisma….
I was stunned and a bit shaking Oh man, I was shaking even this was not my first time to see him!!

All Thai fans were so impressed with his beautiful “WAI” (the humble greeting by put the palms of 2 hands together with a bow), he also ‘wai’ and waved hands to fans at the 2nd fl before leaving to his car at the outside of the gate. I was following him there with all the crowd & reporters. When I got to the right side of his car (while others were on his left), just 2 mins before the car left, I showed my banner (Thailand luv 비) to him, and even saw his hand waved to me from inside the car too …^^ ahhhhhh….yeah!!!
I tried to tweet about his arrival after that but my finger was not be able to type…hahaha…
What a happy first meeting!!!

Friday Aug 23rd:

Only one news that we just heard before was his schedule for rehearsal at 3 PM, nothing else.
I arrived at the Sofitel So Bangkok hotel around 11 AM and just saw that his car was ready for him at the 1st fl. When I went up to the lobby on 9th fl, I was on the very right time as I saw Rain walking out from a lift at the lobby and walked pass me to another lift to the parking. He was in all black which made his skin more outstanding. I went down to get my car, picked up friends from the front door and follow him to Siam Paragon Department Store.

It took us a while before we found out where he was. Some fans were already waiting for him at the outside area of the restaurant at the G floor, but my friends and I went to eat inside. We were quite near his table but separated by clear mirror so I was able to see him clearly. My eyes might be too sweet when looking to his way, so after a while he noticed our table and…..put on his sun glasses while eating as nothing happened….hahaha….you know, his reaction was funny. Few fans came to the next table to me later on and got stunned by him in sight, as some never saw him off stage before.

I couldn’t remember how long we were there, when his dishes were cleared and desserts were served, we were getting ready to move too. Finally, Rain with friends and guards around left the restaurant and walked up to the other floors, with several fans follow quietly in distance.
I always love walking after him in Siam Paragon  ^^  we made no sound, no shouting, no calling his name, no approaching. We stopped when he stopped, we waited outside some shops when he got inside. They walked around for a while from floor to floor..maybe 30-40 mins, no greeting between Rain and us- his familiar faces & loyalty fans, as always.
He left Siam Paragon at around 2.30 PM, we thought he went to Impact for rehearsal so we didn’t hurry follow him but walked back to Starbucks to get ourselves some coffee and asked the girl there what Rain ordered a while ago ^^

We went to Impact after that and got message from friends that he went back to the hotel after leaving Paragon and still there…..well, then we surveyed around and waited.
I saw the dancers at the parking lot before 6 PM but didn’t see him. The rehearsal started around 6 PM, and several fans found a spot in front of Hall 3 that we could hear the sound from inside. Thus, we found out with excitement that he gonna perform for 14 songs!!!! No one expected for such a full list, and we surely were extremely happy!!

My friends and I went to the back of parking lot to get the glimpse of him leaving the venue, and we did. ^^
He was in the same dress as in the afternoon but different hat. We were at the footpath where we guessed his car should turn to our way, so we just thought of some funny thing to do. ^^ Well, as he pretended as if he didn’t see us in the afternoon, so we lined up on the footpath, holding our banners in hands, some waved to his car…and surprisingly, his car slowed down with the light turned on and he even waved to us!!!!!  Hahahahahahaha.

We headed back to the hotel after that, he was already there when we arrived. But we decided to go to a restaurant nearby for our late dinner and let him enjoy his dinner without us at the hotel. 😛  He might already miss us…..hahahahahaha

Concert Day, Aug 24th :

I arrived the concert venue quite early to gave tickets to my sister, and went into the BOOM stage at Hall 3 before 1 PM.
Not much crowded then and the audiences moved out-moved in during 15 mins break after each performance. I went out few mins to get a bottle of water and back and be able to move up to the first front row after next performance. I found out that few first rows at the middle area of stage were already occupied by Rain’s fans from overseas who came there earlier than Thai fans. Well, I was standing there to secure my very best spot since 1 PM until his performance started at 6.30 PM I wouldn’t be able to do such that if not for RAIN.

I enjoyed myself with all artists at this stage but no chance to see other stages of this big music festival at all. I looked around from time to time to see if the hall was full or not. At the music festival like this, many big names at other stages, it was hard to guess…..
Finally, when it was Rain’s time, it was FULL !!!!! ^^ Yessss!!!

At first, this BOOM stage was supposed to be Hall 3-4 but it was resized to only one hall, which was GREAT!!!
The stage was not as big as Impact Arena (BANG stage) but was big enough to delivered great show and not too big for fans to get close to the artist on stage.
The distance between the 1st row (the fence) to the stage was not far, so I feel like I was so close to him more than ever. Rain kept moving from left to right through out that hour but the stage made him always in our sight ^^
There were some light boards from overseas fans but Rain surely noticed our “Thailand luv 비” banners from both left side and right side of the stage. He stopped right in front of me many times, gave me cutely smiles , sexy dance moves, playful moves……well, I was at the RIGHT spot. ㅋㅋ
He was really overly fan-services that night and fans were definitely…..dead (in heaven)…..hahahahahaha.

As it was already seen in tons of pics, Rain was in all white which was soooooooooooooo handsome indeed. It was simple but made him so handsome. When taking off his suit, he was so CUTE!!! and SEXY.
Rain was in the VERY PERFECT body shape this time, and he was like proudly showing off ….hehehe.  One media reported that he got the loudest stage that evening..I guessed it might be at the scene of his 6 packs revealed ㅋㅋㅋ

He was so cool with his strong dance moves and was so cute with his playful moves. And he was fun by teasing us all.  After all the news of his back pain since last year, it was so good to see him dance strongly this time.

Oh yes, he also said “Phom rak khun (I love you)” in Thai for Thai fans ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ. He really knew well how to please us, “I love you” once during I DO, “Phom rak khun” twice during MY GIRL and at the end of INSTEAD OF SAYING GOODBYE. ….I love you too!!! ^^

After INSTEAD OF SAYING GOODBYE, he went to the side and people kept shouting for encore..Jung Ji Hoon, Jung Ji Hoon. This was the first encore of the day and it was the most impressed encore ever because he went off the stage and touched with fans from left to right, from front to back…I was lucky enough to touch his hand too…ahhhhhhhhh.

Among the audiences this time, some were his loyalty fan clubs, some were his former fans who already forgot him for a while but came back to see him in LIVE again, some were not even his fans but knew his name.
Considering from all the reaction throughout the show for more than an hour, I truly believe that all of us were so impressed!! Both of the artist on stage and all the audiences were all happy together. Fans were overwhelmed with joys.
When it was ended, I was like to shout to people that “Hey guys…..This is our RAIN!!”

I left the hall soon after Rain left because I was too tired and Pitbull’s fans wanted to take over Rain’s fans spot ^^“  All fans were still in exciting moments while showing each camera screen of Rain’s 6 packs at the front area ^^ I respect ones who could catch picture of that second….I couldn’t …..hahaha.

From this concert, only mobile and compact cameras were allowed. I didn’t take many clips as some guards keep came to me (since I was at the first row) to warning that no video – only still shots OK. Fortunately that I had a new & nice mobile in hand that able to take nice still shots of him, the best still shots of Rain on stage ever from me!!!
I admit that I didn’t take photo when he was right in front of me because I kept my eyes on him instead 😛 …So I got only one photo that he looked to me. ^^

Rain left the Impact venue after the Meet&Greet. My friends and I were around there for a while, eating, talking, watched Jason Mraz, etc.
I went back to the hotel at late night, keep talking with friends at the lobby, and while I was about to get back to my room, Rain is back….hehehe. Good night Rain. ^^

Aug 25th :

I had to left the hotel and got back home since early morning. I keep checking with some friends who were still around at the hotel while checking pics from my camera at home. I was too tired to get back to the hotel but got info from friends later that Rain went out to some places and went back to the hotel in the afternoon, had a meal at the hotel’s restaurant.
I went to the airport in the evening, waiting to send him off. Well, wrong decision, I should have say goodbye to him at the hotel instead. ㅠㅠ

We were waiting at Gate 1 where most K-pop idols used before, I didn’t think that he would use VIP gate at another bldg which was set for k-pop idols recently. I was wrong…I saw his car coming to the airport but not stop at gate 1..so we had to run from gate 1 to gate 9 (He used the premium lane of the last passport control section) ㅠㅠ That was very FAR. I got there and saw him for few seconds before he went in. Some young fans were much faster and saw him more seconds than me.

Well, our time together with Rain in BKK was ended there. Rain had good time chilled out around for days, saw his familiar faces here and there (happy, right? Hahahaha), wonderful time on stage again –  showing to all that “Rain is Back”.

Fans were all very happy to have Rain here again after 2 years. He is still the same Rain as he was before….hehehe (you know what I mean? ^^ ) We are so appreciated to him for coming to Sonic Bang 2013 and put on the awesome performance, and hope that he’d come again next year as a part of BIG international artists of the event. Thanks to Sonic Bang for the fabulous stage and for their generous to Rain’s fans since the beginning.

I think that Rain also got some more power from all of Thai fans this time. He said “I’ll be back soon” at the end of the last song in the show , I didn’t know that he just meant for encore a min after that or meant for a real comeback to Bangkok again soon. Please, my dearest RAIN, comeback to Bangkok soon. We all miss you so much and you are always welcome here.

Also big thanks to all “Only Rain – Thailand” friends for all wonderful things that you have done for Rain and for us, thanks for all the things you’ve shared. You are the best!!!.
