[article] The Ministry of Defense isn’t punishing Rain because he wasn’t even THERE.

LMAO

Now, check this out.

We’ve been suspicious from the word go if Rain was ever even at the table with the soldiers being investigated. Why?

Because the reporters never seemed to even try to show him in there eating, drinking any alcohol, on a cell phone, or coming OUT of the restaurant, or gallivanting around town with the other soldiers. All they did was suddenly cut to footage (the ONLY footage of him) standing outside and then walking away after fetching KCM. The Biggest Fish in the Pond when it comes to your prejudice for celebrity soldiers, and you don’t get him breaking the rules? (If that were us, even if it involved breaking our necks with the effort, we would have gotten HIM if nobody else!)

So now look at what Colonel Wi is saying about that night. “Rain came back later after the consolation performance, and couldn’t have a meal with other soldiers. Therefore, after he had meal with the executives, he came back to his lodgings and went to sleep.” About the suspicion toward drinking alcohol, it was explained that “even if Rain had drunken alcohol, it was caused by the order given by the executive. The commanders could have offered him to drink in terms of encouragement.” Well, ain’t that interesting.

And you wonder why, when we know that reporters are desperate and on a witch hunt, we question EVERYTHING THEY SAY. Er, did you all conveniently forget to mention that Rain wasn’t with the group you were following all over town? Did you? Was he even on the bus you kept showing? *tsk tsk*

The MoD isn’t punishing him because the Brass was sitting there watching him the whole time during their own meal. They’ve already told the Media he has nothing to do with the investigation. Now you see why—because he wasn’t with the group of soldiers being investigated, except for two seconds, maybe.

The bottom-feeders in the Korean Media and the scuzzy netizen sites aren’t spreading Innolife’s article because it’s always tradition to just let Rain take the fall. I mean, what would people do if they couldn’t bash Rain? Oh, the horror of it!

*LMAO at those dumber-than-dumbass netizens who couldn’t figure out REAL news if it fell on their heads* ROFL ^@@^

Rain will be discharged from military as planned on 10th… Ministry of National Defense would give him no punishment

Among the controversy around the reality of the military services done by entertainment soldiers, the singer Rain (Jung Ji-Hoon) will be discharged from the military as previously arranged on coming 10th.

Colonel Wi Yong-Sup from Ministry of National Defense talked about the situation of the progression of the specialized investigation about the reality of entertainment soldiers’ military services which became the controversy through the recent report given by SBS ‘Site 21’, in the Cabinet meeting held in the briefing room of the Ministry of National Defense in Seoul, Yongsan-gu, on 5th. According to Ministry of National Defense, the soldier Jung Ji-Hoon has nothing related to the controversy surrounding the entertainment soldiers’ military services, and he will be discharged on 10th as previously arranged without punishment.

Rain had been in the center of controversy when SBS ‘Site 21’, which was broadcast on 25th of last month, reported the scene of him having meal and drinking alcohol outside after the performance of consolation for soldiers. About this, Ministry of National Defense said “Rain came back later after the consolation performance, and couldn’t have a meal with other soldiers. Therefore, after he had meal with the executives, he came back to his lodgings and went to sleep.” About the suspicion toward drinking alcohol, it was explained that “even if Rain had drunken alcohol, it was caused by the order given by the executive. The commanders could have offered him to drink in terms of encouragement.”

The result of other entertainment soldiers’ specialized investigation will be notified on next week. According to the Ministry of National Defense, the investigation of other entertainment soldiers, excluding Rain, and the commanders in charge of those will be proceeded as scheduled, and the investigation will be finished in next week, followed by strict action.

  1. I am so happy that Rain did not get in trouble for something he did not do!!! July 10th can not come any faster!!!!!!

Can someone answer some stupid questions for me:

When they say the executive who are they talking about?

So after the soldiers perform they are not actually off duty but still on duty?

A soldier can not drink or talk on their cell phone after they have finished a performance?

I am asking these questions because I thought that the other soldiers were off duty and was allowed to drink and talk on their cell phones. Can someone clear this up for me?

    • Flower,

To my knowledge (hubby is former military), when any soldier is off duty he is just that off duty and that is their Free time. They can do whatever they want during their free time. Just like at your job, your lunch break is considered your Free time and you can do what you want (within reason of course) during your free time.

After reading the post above again, I believe the use of the term “executive” was just the choice of words the individual used to describe Rain’s superiors that’s all. The choice of words was just to let readers know that Rain had dinner with his superiors after his performance, spending most of his off duty time that evening with them and shortly thereafter went back to his hotel. This is how I the article reads to me.

  3. Clouds, let’s remember the families of the two casualties from the Asiana Airlines Boeing 777 crash on Saturday 7/07/13 at San Francisco in our prayers. They were only 16 and 17 years of age. Beginning of their hopes and dreams!!

  4. It is what I thought that people are jealous of Rain’s success and are trying to pull him all the way down. I went on the netizens blog with all those silly netizens and told them they have no idea what they talk about. They spout off rumors about what they have heard and one girl even gave me her source URL in Soompi. I had to laugh at her for that. They need to be very carefull cause Bi could sue the silly netizens.

  8. WOW…..just Wow! So it was as WE (*reasonable, sane individuals*) thought all along. Rain was chilling…minding His Own Business…Not Even Present with the “Scandalous Ones”….back in his hotel room SLEEP. All the while he was unaware…..Sleeping, scandalous stories are being Concocted/Rigged to make HIM look bad. It took an “investigation” to tell us this? I mean….really people…..Really??

The military brass needs to get ordinary (* I use the term VERY loosely*) citizens out of its business. The military needs to operate/handle its business without the INCESSANT interference of the outside media and “nut bucket” netizens alike. First and FOREMOST it should be about your nation’s SECURITY. Quit letting the damned media “all up in” your rear. The Korean media will do more to damage the security of their own nation by being stupid and going after celebrities for popsicle stand “news” stories.

Listen Up Korea………..Rain has done more to advance awareness of Your country than any other celebrity to come from Korea. I will state again…..and Again, Korea was not even on my radar until I became aware of R-A-I-N and that’s a FACT for you who are true journalists (*facts…..”memba” them*). I will NEVER understand why someone who has done great things to promote his home country (*that HE cares about*) is CONSTANTLY vilified. Makes no damned sense! As I stated before, no matter how many times you (*person(s) who lurk in the shadows*) try to stop his Shine you won’t be able to. Rain’s life journey is what it is and will be what it will be. So instead of swallowing all that “Haterade”, just Stand Back and watch the GLOBAL superstar take his rightful place in the world. That’s it.

  11. Did anyone else notice that the general netizen belief (and those of international fans) is that Rain or whoever is representing him actually paid off the military so they could release positive articles about him and say that he wasn’t involved. Like…seriously? Rain and his agency or whoever is that rich to pay off a branch of the military (O.o)?

  14. It’s too obvious to critics of rain is jealousy and hatred towards him. Korean men want a tip, if provilegio annoying situation because there are not enough men to complain of its armed forces is really pathetic complaints are behind a computer, but do not have the guts to go to complain to his army worthy. at all costs wants to see the rain on the ground. When a person has feelings of envy is a negative experience is limited and assigned to him / her. It can be expressed in any environment: work, family, friends, neighbors, relatives, destroying relationships.
Envy is jealousy, resentment, bitterness, anger, frustration, disappointment. So you can have a good envy.
Envy does not produce or appreciate the qualities you have to accomplish what you want and annihilates its growth. Some people are slow to recognize that envy. This is what I feel that many citizens: who complain “are jealous of the rain” and the Korean press at all costs wanted to turn it into a scapegoat to fill your pathetic headlines.
    I liked your note stefhe.
