[from Stephe’s desk] MassageParlor-gate: Once again, Rain’s name gets thrown into a news story just for ratings. LMAO!

bottomfeeder

Oh, for the love of Chuck. Let me see if I can get these points out about this new “celebrity soldier” debacle, in between laughs.

1. Let me get this straight. The Korean Media and well known K-Pop portals have a video showing that Rain is NOT INVOLVED AT ALL in the massage parlor shakedown, and yet they throw his name in their stories and headlines anyway because, well, it’s just good press? Rain’s name sells newspapers, yeah? Rain’s name brings netizens slithering up out of their holes, right? So what if the man didn’t do anything. So what if he only showed up for mere seconds in the footage to get one of the guys and leave after dinner. So what if he got in trouble for spying for the North getting three rides back to his post from his girlfriend and didn’t wear his hat when nobody else wore their hat either, last week a whole six months ago. Throw him in there.

And you wonder why we don’t believe a thing you bottom-feeders say half the time. Just leave Rain alone, how about that.

2. Let me get this straight. With some 650,000 active duty soldiers in the ROK military, a great many of them single men, people actually think that none of them go to massage parlors (or brothels, for that matter) on the regular? ROFLMAO! Soldiers of every nationality and Houses of Questionable Reputation have gone hand in hand well before the pyramids were even built in Egypt. Get real. Soldiers go and get relief on the Down Low, folks, from the highest Brass down to the lowliest peon, in every division, corps, wing, brigade, and platoon across the board. It keeps mutinies and uprisings at bay—check your history books. And remember, the military is run by men. Hello.

Sangchu and Se7en weren’t caught doing anything that ordinary soldiers don’t do all the time. We’ve heard exactly that—from some ordinary soldiers’ relatives over there. Reporters don’t bother to follow Private John Q. Ordinary because it wouldn’t get them ratings. Celebrity privilege, my eye. Ain’t no privilege to it, if everybody’s gettin’ some.

3. Let me get this straight. I’m supposed to be outraged because the Director of the show was nice enough to thank the soldiers for their participation with a brief, no-frills, after-party dinner with drinks? If I’m petty, maybe, seeing as that same thing (including the soju and beer) happens on base in every division, corps, wing and platoon, yada yada, you know where I’m going with that. And you know they had to have permission if they were in civilian clothes. You know that, so why make it an issue? Why begrudge somebody getting something to eat? Seriously?

Rain Drinking! the headlines scream. Rain and KCM drinking! Holy $#%! Ordinary soldiers drink, too. In civilian clothes. After work. Sometimes on duty. Rain could ride a camel and it would be an outrage to you. We’re so over it.

4. I certainly wouldn’t have advised Se7en and Sangchu to go where they went, no way! (Doesn’t dude have a girlfriend?) But with neither of them being married and it not being illegal, no sense in me going BSC on them for it. (He’s going to get enough hell from his girl and his fans.) Frankly, if such businesses weren’t opened in the first place, they wouldn’t have been there. And the truth of it is, as obvious as it may be, unless we were all in their back pockets or something, we don’t know what they did in there for sure.

5. I’ll tell you what the nasty, scuzzy, disgusting part of the video was to me—watching those reporters scurrying around like rats in the dark, trying to sniff out trouble for people any way they could. They went to that military show with the express purpose of finding something, anything, to ruin a soldier, and skulked around for hours, filming and watching people without their knowledge (which is creepy as hell) like vultures waiting for an animal to fall down so they can swoop in and start eating it. I wanted to take a shower and wash the scuzz off myself by the time they finished.

“Are you a celebrity, or are you a soldier?” As if Mr. Reporter didn’t know the answer to that already, the self-righteous jerk. And the soldiers’ reactions to his guerrilla tactics were just so shocking to him. I don’t see why. He’s lucky he didn’t end up on the ground, running up on two guys in the dark like that and demanding answers. He should be ashamed of himself for making this a “celebrity soldier” problem when regular soldiers and higher ups are doing the same thing (and I’ll bet you he knows it, it’s just more important to enrage the public and stick it to the celebs).

6. Thanks, Rain, for being on your best behavior. Thumbs up.

7. Terri sends this message to the Media: “Why don’t you tail the Yakusa or some Mafia crime boss or some human traffickers and do some real reporting for once? Get some b@lls and stop running after celebrities who are scared to death of you because they know what kind of B.S. you’re capable of. Okay?” :-{

  4. true, rain is not stupid. I do not like how they treat people in Korea, because they are soldiers stars but are human beings .
also think it was very loose with acting, because they are persecuted for being “stars”It’s their free time, they’ve been granted the privilege of free time they can go eat, drink, have sex, do what they want on the their free time. y hope everything turns out well for rain, the other guys did not perform “good” in the eyes of the people of Korea and I think will have a sanction, sorry for them. is a shame, because so shortly to rain is free , the army and this problem will bring you problems. .keep calm and love for Rain , everything will be ok !!!

  5. WOW. I just realized something. This incident happened on 6/21, right? You would think that something this “scandal-worthy” in Korea would have been aired right away, like the very next day, right?

But SBS waited and aired this on 6/25, which was not only Rain’s birthday but the day the Korean War started back in 1950 (the Consolatory Train show was supposed to honor that day).

SBS and their special task force against celebrity soldiers are even more scuzzy than I originally thought. They killed two birds with one stone. What douche bags.

    • Yeah……..scuzzy indeed. I wish it was captioned so that we could know what they’re saying. Old dude all up in “Se7en’s” (allegedly Se7en) face sounding like he’s his daddy “scolding” him. “Sanchu” (allegedly Sanchu) sounded contrite in speaking to the reporter, but I wouldn’t have answered any of his questions. I don’t care what you saw “Paparrazo.” Even if you saw me, I’d deny, deny, deny. Every time old dude would state he “caught” me, I’d say “prove it.” Unless you got my DNA on something…..”prove it.” “You saw me go in a building so what…..I had to go to the restroom….couldn’t make it back to my hotel. This was the closest building. Is that all you got.” LOL!!!!

I’d seriously frustrate the hell out of old dude with my responses. It could work in the U.S., it would become a non story by the next evenings news. However, in Korea the netizens don’t question reports as much as we do over here and they’d fall hook, line and sinker for whatever the reporters show.

  7. Ok can someone clear something up for me. To be honest I am still little confused as to who is Rain in the video. I have looked at it but I am still not sure who Rain is. Which one is Rain? Did Rain go into the message Parlor with another soldier at one point? If that was him it seemed like he came out very fast. Who is the two soldiers that the report stopped? Is the one in the hood Se7en? Did the celebration and incident happen on Rain’s birthday?

    Like

    • Rain is wearing a long-sleeved gray sweatshirt with a big “8” on the front and knee-length shorts. He showed up in the footage after they were all finished eating, and left with the guy in the white shirt with the muscular arms (KCM). (The voice-over said he was the first to come out of the restaurant.) He went back to the hotel and stayed there.

Se7en and Sangchu were the ONLY two who left the hotel to go to the massage parlor. It is being said that it was Se7en in the hoodie.

The incident happened after the Consolatory Train show on June 21. SBS News broadcasted the reporter’s story on June 25.

      • @Stephe thanks for the clarity. So basically what they have on video is Rain showing up after dinner and leaving with KCM. They donot have him eating, drinking, talking on his cell or going to the massage parlor. Even though I do not understand what is wrong with the soldiers eating, drinking or talking on their cell phone if they are off duty. If they are off duty they should be able to do what they want as long as it is legal. I am not sure about the message parlor place, LOL!!!! But they are men and if they can get away with scratching their itch legally so be it, LOL!!!! They have to deal with their wives or girlfriends. So to sum it up basically they do not have anything on Rain. Rain is not seen doing anything wrong. So really Rain should not be in trouble. It is a shame they are always trying to connect him with trouble. They need to leave him alone.

  8. One more thing…………………………………..

I don’t agree with dude putting his hands on the celeb….cornering him like that. I don’t know if I would have been able to hold back from defending myself.

Had the celeb assaulted the reporter (as he so richly deserved) then the celeb would have been sued and/or brought up on charges. These “paps” love to put themselves in harms way, just SO they can sue the celebrity. That’s why celeb soldiers don’t give them the “ammo” to do that “ish.” Go chill at the crib with YOUR girl (or guy) and call it a day.

      • You know maybe Korea should re-think the whole “requiring celebrities to serve” thing. If so much time must be spent trying to “catch” them doing wrong/getting over on the “system” and what not, then why require them to serve at all. I understand about patriotism and serving one’s country and duty and all that….But these are men that are in very high profile careers and with reporters chasing them everywhere it’s a disruption to the goals of the armed forces and that’s to serve AND protect their nation.

Army brass should not have to spend/waste time “wiping up” after stupid paparazzi induced scandals. Maybe celebs should be given the option to serve but with strict guidelines for what those options should be with no deviations should they choose to serve. Heck, I don’t know…but as far as I can see the “celebrity soldier thing” is unnecessarily disruptive to their nations armed services.

        • I don’t know or understand what the Korean Army brass is doing, frankly. If we had celebrity soldiers in the military over HERE, all of this folly and crap would not be happening. There would be reporters in jail and shut down, and these hot messes would be handled internally. The U.S. military would not be running around letting the public tell it what to do, trust that.

          Doors would be closed.

The ROK military needs to go back behind that iron curtain they had up before Rain came along and they got all twinkly-eyed because they had a world star to ride on.

    • Thank you for your comment, Maureen. You are saying something I’ve been thinking for a long time.

The argument should not be that the ROK military should do away with celebrity soldiers and their privileges. Instead, the Korean people should be fighting to ensure that their regular soldiers get SIMILAR privileges.

My nephew is an American soldier stationed in South Korea. He was there for many months before his wife was allowed to join him. And he was totally miserable. LOL. After she was allowed to join him, he became a MUCH more contented soldier, and his work performance improved greatly. They are also having so much fun exploring the country together.

I just don’t understand Korea’s focus on the negative versus the positive. Wouldn’t it be better to say, “Hey! I want my son and nephew to have these same rights. My brother should be able to visit his girlfriend when he is off duty. My son should be able to eat dinner and have a few beers with his homies after he is off duty. What’s the freakin’ problem???

THAT is what I’D be fighting for. But I’d do it in a way that didn’t hurt other soldiers.

But hey. That’s just me, I guess.

  11. Wow, I woke up this morning to this WTH??!!…………

    Well my two cents:

First and foremost, if anybody and I mean Anybody thinks a man in his late teens, twenties and thirties and hell even “old farts” will go for 2 (count’em) TWO years plus and not get his _alls “tickled” you are SADLY mistaken. Either that soldier will “tickle” it for himself or get it “tickled” but it WILL get “tickled”………..Believe That!

Now, I also believe that when soldiers are Off Duty they are just that off duty and that is THEIR TIME to do whatever the hell they want to do. It’s their free time, they’ve been granted the privilege of free time they can go eat, drink, have sex, do what they want on the their FREE time.

Having said that, I do think if you are a celebrity soldier and you KNOW for a fact that the media will lie in wait for you to mess the hell up……then celebrity soldier(s)……Don’t be stupid. Don’t go TO the places Common Sense should tell you reporters would wait for you. Even if reporters don’t know the exact location where you will be, they will wait by the Army gates to follow your @ss out……Don’t you get it? Use your “noggin” for more than a hat rack (as my granddaddy used to say).

Hey, if it was me and I was OFF DUTY and wanted a little “tickling.” I’d get a friend to bring the “tickler” to me, but I will not go to a specific place where I know I could be spotted. I would be at a private residence. You (Mr/Miss reporter) if you cross over onto my private property to get ANY kind of story, that would be your @ss. Celebrity soldiers who are new on the block, did you learn nothing after what happened to Rain a few months ago? Also, We KNOW Bi is not stupid or dumb and would not get caught up in a scandal this late in the game, so please (Mr/Miss reporter) go and truly get REAL newsworthy stories. Hey, how about this……what’s Kim Jong Un been up to lately…..you know with his nuclear weapons and all?? Inquiring minds want to know.

  12. What this video taught me is the reporters follow these soldiers probably every performance. That is just crazy. Two more weeks and Rain is out and he can get his security detail back in place and have some privacy back in his life.

  13. I am confused who is the two guys that were stopped by the reporter? Why would Rain be in trouble if he was off duty?

    • You’re not confused at all, Flower. Rain SHOULDN’T be in trouble. He didn’t do anything wrong.

      Terri :-}

      Like

      • the rain may be in trouble for the simple fact that a sergeant and his highest rank among all involved is the leader and the leader should impose rules and respect them. he did not do anything wrong but is the leader of his squad.

        Like

        • Maybe not.

He’s a sergeant but he isn’t squad commander any more due to the fact that he’ll be out in 2 weeks. They usually assign a new squad leader during the month you’re preparing to leave (Rain took over as squad leader for Kim JaeWook during the month that JaeWook was getting ready for his discharge). During the last two Consolatory Train’s last week, Rain wasn’t wearing the green epaulets on his uniform, so someone else has likely taken over for him.

So, hopefully nothing will come of it. Fingers crossed!

  14. This might sound dumb but just to make sure I am understanding. Are the massage parlors legal places in Korea that one can go to have sex? If it is legal is against the military rules for soldiers off duty to go to one? It seems like they were off duty. I thought that the soldiers could do what they wanted to, if it was legal, when off duty. Is that Se7en the reporter stopped by putting his hands on him? That reporter had a lot nerve touching him like that.

    Like

    • Well, massage parlors are legal, but prostitution is not, Flower. Frankly, a massage parlor called “Happy Ending” is quite suspect, is it not? LOL. And it’s not like they visited it at 2 PM in the afternoon. They visited it at 2 AM. Yeah. LOL.
