As posted by 8th Cloud executive Kang SangYeon today, Corporal Jung JiHoon/Rain will be promoted to sergeant on May 1, not in April as was previously stated. Apparently there was a mix-up because of a new military regulation. Oops.

(Usually, we only put up a link instead of a full post from the 8th Cloud members’ private bulletin board, but seeing as Rain’s promotion concerns the entire fandom, here it is.) ^@@^

Last February 19th, we posted a notice that Rain would be promoted sergeant on April 1st but have now learnt that it was incorrect. Consequently, the event(s) ran based on mistaken information, and even Rain was said to be wrong about the date.

We’re informed today that since January of this year, the military has changed its rules to allow corporals, who are about to be promoted to the rank of sergeant, to be promoted sergeant exactly on May 1st, and therefore, Rain’ll be promoted sergeant on May 1st.
