REMINDER: The deadline for paying for your RAIN The Best Show DVD Package was October 26, and RAINY has posted a final PayPal list of people whose payments have been received, on Rain’s official website (omitting the China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan group orders). They began shipping packages out on October 19. If you haven’t already, please check for your name and watch for your goods in the mail. They have quite a lot to ship (600+) so give it a reasonable amount of time. Inquiries should be emailed to: rainyent.cloud@gmail.com.
R2B: Return to Base has touched down on tarmacs in South Korea, the U.S. and Canada, and is on its way around the world. It has premiered in Vietnam, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Malaysia is set for November. Japan is set for December. The latest news is that Taiwan is set for November 23 AND that it will also be showing at the London Korean Film Festival 2012 on November 5 and November 16, in the United Kingdom! Let’s see where else this bird is going to land!

The one thing I want to say if not for JiHoon I would not have discovered all the beauty of Korean music and all they have to offer, And oh yes we Black folkes R&B are the main mix and I feel so proud they love our culture so much not just music but clothes dance and so much more. They are a proud gifted people like we are. Just in my opinion they respect what we do its just they have issues in their culture just like anyone else there’s good and bad. The good embrace and the bad are stupid and/or just uneducated about us. Anyway thank you JiHoon and Thank you CloudUSA for showing us the way. Much love, muah….

Funny, that you would make this statement right in this moment because that has been and is my only real criteria for following the careers of K-Pop/R&B artists. So long as I feel like they respect the culture that the music originates from I’m good. So far I don’t think any of the groups out there have been disrespectful (as far as I can see) and Lord knows Honey Bi respects the culture (he has proven that many times over). I think there is a lot of admiration there (from them to us), so much so that emulation was bound to happen.
Are there some messed up issues within their culture? Oh, no doubt. However, the more the music from Korea “goes forth” into other markets and other parts of the world, then whatever things deemed negative will have no choice but to lessen. Artists traveling outside of their country get their eyes opened up to more people, places and things, so cultural barriers will begin to fall.

Bad thing Koreans are so hard on their singers Taeyang his now trying to break into English more and gets backlash for doing it. I hope all and any that want to branch out just do your thing cause its their lives its their money at play and their people should be so proud their putting more attention on their country for the good. GD is the head man and as been in it since he was a small kid(showbuz) Top he’s rap Tae all r&b the other two are great singers in their own right also and have some solo stuff to but they still come back together cause they stayed strong and understand its a job and the job is about making that paper. I’m just really discovering their music now. I saw Hallelujah a couple days ago and love it. TOP could really cross over into American hip-hop if he wanted. Honestly, I’m not a huge hip-hop fan (American or otherwise) but I would definitely follow his career. In other words, I may listen to some hip-hop songs but you won’t find hip-hop CDs in my car. However, I can recognize a true hip-hop talent when I hear it and TOP is definitely that. Besides, he’s mysterious and pretty with a WHOLE LOTTA swag (at least this is the perception). I’ll follow his career for that alone. He’s my kinda “edgy”…..just enough edge without giving off the “I’m-a-career-criminal” vibe. Just enough “naughty boy” to make you curious. *SMILES*……………..

Xia Junsu also sings this song for the drama Nice Guy, is soo beautiful too! At the end of each episode you hear this song and the lyrics go soo well with all that’s happening in the drama I end crying. Lord, I’m such a wimp but the lyrics and Junsu’s voice are killing me! Lol!!

Sho’nuff it is. Changmin and Yunho continued on as TVXQ (the Chinese name), and Jae, Micky Yoochun, and Junsu became JYJ. A shame, really. What a powerful group they were all together, although I have to say that Changmin and Yunho are MORE than holding it together. When I saw them onstage at Madison Square Garden, they individually and together exuded this unbelievably powerful presence. It was incredible. I thought I was going to have to go to the hospital. I mean honestly, think about that… after SHINee and Super Junior had been tearing up the place already with Lucifer and Ring Ding Dong and Mr. Simple and Sorry Sorry and everything else great that you can think of including BoA and all the girl acts, Max and Yunho came out and stole the show even after all that. Not to be blasphemous, but it was like the reaction you would get if God walked in or something. It’s not even describable.
Yunho took over that stage like he owned it. Max came out and challenged him for it. I paid very little attention to them before that show, but now I’m a real fan.
As I hear tell, Teddy Riley was in the audience texting and fangirling his butt off whenever they started a song. heheh
I’m guessing the DBSK (Korean) and Tohoshinki (Japanese) group names will simply never be used again, at this rate, unless once again they become five…

Well, I think TVXQ were magnificent as five, there’s no doubt in my mind about it. After seeing most of their videos in my adventures on YT I think SM made a HUGE mistake by not taking care of these boys when they needed it. I mean, they were AMAZING TOGETHER, so well trained, their voices complemented each other beautifully, their dancing was perfect, they had the most beautiful songs, they were called The Gods of the East and they trully were! In my opinion, SM should have taken time for them, hear them out cuz they didn’t wanted to disband but SM closed the door on them and destroyed a perfect band, I mean, if you take the time and effort to create the perfect boy band, they are in the top of their game, with fans crazy for them all over Asia and they ask for some negotiation, damn at least, give them the space to talk it out! It was a shame, really, for the life of me, I can’t understand why they disbanded TVXQ without a second thought.
I fell in love with Xiah Junsu, I admit it! I think Tarantallegra is a spectacular album, love ALL the songs and he’s an incredible singer, composer and dancer. After taking a look at Junsu, I started to like JYJ too, so now I’m a fan. I love ALL their songs, they’re are amazing musicians, actors and dancers. They have achieved so much even with SM closing many doors for them. SM is a powerful agency with great influence on Tv shows in Korea so JYJ has beeing banned from participating in any tv shows. But that didn’t stop them, they continued working harder than ever and now they’re one of the top boys groups with great numbers of fans in Asia, Mexico, Peru, Chile, etc. but in Korea they’re not as recognized as a group. Is a shame but I think they will be together as five after coming back of their military duty, I think they love each other too much, they have so many memories to not give themselves a second chance. 😀

I like Changming and Junho too!! Let me make that clear, cuz I started to talk a lot about JYJ and lost myself, Lol!! They’re amazing together, their voices are incredible but in my opinion, SM kind of let them get cold, focusing on their other groups more. Now they’re coming back and of course, their fans are going crazy with them! But I’m sorry to say that to me, their new album is not what I expected. I wanted more, SM could’ve put more effort in making a spectacular album like they did with Shinee and Super Junior. Changming and Junho are legends, they deserved a magnificent comeback! 🙂

Mari, I think all of us DBSK fans are highly disappointed that the boys broke up. That whole debacle was extremely upsetting. I know what you’re saying about SM Entertainment and how they seem to be focusing on other groups more. That was something I really felt at the SMTown concert at Madison Square Garden last year.
As the concert wore on, and they never came out, I kept thinking, where the heck ARE they? Where’s TVXQ?. TVXQ was there. I knew they were there because I saw Max and Yunho at the press conference. (If you can believe it, they were SO much more handsome in person than they are on film and so I remember being a bit taken aback at that, and as a consequence I took WAY too many pictures of them. LOL. But that’s another story…LOL.)
Finally, at the very end of the concert, they fly down from the ceiling and the place goes wild. They sing only a couple of numbers and then are gone. That fast.
Throughout the press conference I got the distinct impression that they weren’t all that happy to be there. Many of the stars were nervous, of course, mostly from being in front of American media. Still, somehow I could not shake the feeling that something was off somewhere with the duo.
Don’t get me wrong. They were perfectly polite. They nodded at me several times and smiled and pointedly posed for photos. And their performance was spectacular. On that stage they gave everything they had.
But the way they were “presented” by SM Entertainment, sort of like an “afterthought” or as “kings” of the concert to provide the final performances of the night just felt off. It just felt like that was not how Max and Junho felt themselves or would have wanted to do it themselves.
I don’t know. I can’t explain it. It was really weird and it made me wonder how those boys feel about being the ones left behind to deal with all of the SM Entertainment crap themselves. How difficult that must be. And after that concert I really began to wonder. Is it really going all that well for them?
I know they just signed a new contract with SM Entertainment in 2010. Does anyone know when that contract is up? I wonder if they think now that it was the right decision to re-sign with them? I wonder if they had the chance to do it all over again would they?

Thanks for that account, I would LOVE to see those photos! Lol!! They’re so handsome!! I feel bad for Changmin and Junho, I read that at first Junsu, Jae and Yochun wanted to talk about their working conditions and their percentage of earnings. They were very young when they signed that contract and since they got really popular in Japan, etc. they thought, we’re getting lots of money to the company, we should get a higher percentage. But SM closed the door on them and next thing they know, their schedule was clear up. They supposedly agreed that they were going to go together but something happened, it’s not clear what, so Junho and Changmin stayed and the members of JYJ were forced to go with only their clothes on them. All their music, lyrics, etc. were taken away. I think SM promised Junho and Chanming some stuff and that’s why they stayed. My guess is that whatever SM promised was not fullfilled. Instead they were put aside. Then they did an album and the song “Put your head down”, which I think they were forced to sing, was released on the album as a way of trying to break their friendship apart cuz they missed each other terribly. They were such a good friends! I think Junho and Changmin are not happy with SM but they signed again cuz their enlistment time is coming, they have no other choice but stay with SM until their are called for the military. I think they will come together again as five after their military duty. I’m really hoping for that. Junho and Chanming must feel awful, they were in the company first but Super Junior and Shinee were created and they were forgotten. I was appalled when I hear their new album, if you compare SJ and Shinee songs with the songs they were given, there’s a huge difference in quality, the lyrics are lame and their choreography is blah. Take a look at this song, “Rising sun” and the choreography. This was just before they were disbanded. This is what these boys were capable of doing, they were AMAZING! Junsu said that after doing this song, he felt like his soul was separated from his body cuz he was exhausted. I believe him!

True, I envy those fans who were able to see these young men at their best!! These times may never come again if they don’t get back together. Is such an awful shame! Sighhh But the worst part is that to this day, Junsu can’t sing “Fallen leaves” without crying, Changmin said the other day, that he used to watch Super Junior and Shinee and his heart was heavy cuz he missed that sense of brotherhood he used to have. They missed each other terribly, they were devastated and to this day, it still hurt them. 😦

To my fellow Clouds in the East coast, my prayers are with you. I hope you’re ok. It will probably take a while to get everything back to normal so take care. I used to live in New York, it was a great place to live and I have good memories of those times, beginning with my eldest daughter who was born in there. I don’t know what it is, must be the air or water, but my daughter is a true New Yorker! She only stayed there like eleven months but she is! Lol!! Then we moved to Florida and my younger daughter was born in there. She stayed for a month but again, same thing, she’s a Southern Belle! I have a New Yorker and a Southern Belle in my house, believe it or not! You should see the battles, sometimes is the “Civil War” at my house all over again! Of course, I’m talking in the mildest way possible and I’m not in any way, talking about the tragic part of that period. Is just that my girls north/south personalities just pop up at any moment! My hubbie and I make so much fun over this, you have no idea! My point is, New York and Florida will always have a special place in my heart and whatever happens there, I feel deeply for it. 😀
