There’s no doubt in my mind that Rain is going to do a sexy scene when a good part that requires it comes to him. I think that it will be in the asian market cuz in the American market there’s that “asian only do action parts” tabu that won’t be easily destroyed. I hope with all my heart that the American market gives him an opportunity to act in a romantic drama but I know is still far away. He’s gonna have to prove himself in other parts and do many movies and then maybe Holywood would give him the opportunity to do a romantic part. Regarding fans, I don’t understand why some fans can’t stand to see Rain doing sexy scenes. I mean, girls this is the only way you’re gonna have a “sneak preview” of how he looks/do things in bed! It won’t be with YOU in your bed so you better get used to the idea!! To me is just ridiculous to think that you have an opportunity to be with Rain in real life, specially if you’re not Korean or live in Korea! Rain probably is going to get married with a Korean woman or a woman of Korean descent, I’m 99.999% sure of that. He could surprise me, of course, but he looks pretty traditional to me when it comes to real things so I think he will choose a korean woman.

I haven’t see R2B but I was thinking that maybe the director cut those kissing scenes cuz is a movie that’s related to the government. I don’t remember well but girls you can correct me if I’m wrong, this movie was made to remember the 50th anniversary of the Korean war and I think it was done with government funds so if they’re paying the movie, they can cut whatever they want. Maybe the government saw the final product and determined that romance between the main character and his girl wasn’t the perspective they wanted to emphasized. When the production team said that R2B was edited up to the last weeks before the premiere I thought it was weird. Maybe it was cuz the government was doing the editing. I mean, what’s the use of filming kissing scenes if you wasn’t planning to get them into the movie? This tells me that maybe it wasn’t the director or the actors who made the final decision of cutting those kissing scenes. Of course this is my opinion and I could be wrong! 😀

Because he’s acting in Korean films made for Korean/Asian audiences, maybe?
Sigh. Actually, we may never find out how far Ji-Hoon is willing to go with regard to sensual scenes. I know that’s sad, but it’s likely true.
First of all, for a juicy scene to happen with him, he actually has to be cast in a sensual role. That means he has to be considered for one somewhere. Is he being considered for any sensual roles? We haven’t heard of any. Why? Well, this comes back around to the question you were asking earlier–your kissing question. Is it the directors or is it him?
Like I said I think it’s the directors. I think it is they who aren’t giving Rain the opportunity to show his sensuality onscreen the way he might if he was just given the opportunity to do so. I honestly just don’t think he’s being offered any parts like that.
Also, I don’t think he is willing to take just any part just to show his stuff, because he knows that when he does, he will likely lose half of his Asian fangirls the moment he does it. So, if he does it, then the part he chooses better be kick-ass and the movie better be a real winner. Like Oscar-worthy, if you know what I mean. Otherwise, he may be screwed. (LOL. And not in a “good” way.)
So, if he’s not being offered the “right” parts in Asia, then he may need to be offered the right part in an American or European film. But for that to happen, serendipity is going to have to play a major role in the game. You know how Hollowwood feels about Asian actors, right? They are action stars, right? (Sigh.) And an Asian kissing anybody is apparently the kiss of death or something. I’m thinking that the only way for him to get a juicy part like that is for the stars to align perfectly. But when they do, I’m totally there for him. I really am. And I really hope it happens. I hope he gets a really great part from somebody that will show the world his acting talent and range, and that he wins lots of awards for his effort. (Angels, are you listening up there? :-})
Okay, and now I’m going to just go ahead and be brutally honest here. I haven’t said this before, but I’m saying it now, because it has been bugging me ever since those kissing scene stills for R2B were released and I’ve been reading some crazy fangirl comments on them.
And if my comment here applies to any of you out there reading this? Well, then you’d better do some serious soul searching with regard to your own psyche.
You fangirls who are jealous of things like onscreen kisses or sex scenes that involve Rain or any of your other favorite stars have got some serious problems going on in your head. First of all, Rain is an actor, okay? In the future, he may kiss dozens of girls onscreen. Maybe even hundreds. He may even have fake sex with some of them. And you know what? NONE of them are likely to be you.
It’s crazy thinking, girls. Just insane. Really. I mean it. Seriously. I’m not kidding.
So, if you get a strange, sickly feeling in your gut every time you see Rain kiss one of his costars onscreen, and you think you want to kill her? Well then. You’ve got some serious psychological problems, and should probably get some help. Really, you should.
And please stop telling me about your bizarre feelings by making icky comments everywhere, so I won’t know how insane you are, okay?

I agree 100%. I’ve always thought it’s the Korean entertainment establishment that is SO stifling for most of their artists/actors not just Rain. It just baffles me that’s all. It’s so contradictory when you look at some of their films also….makes no damned sense. I’m not mad, just confused as to why and really think it’s time for then to seriously change. Because you know what, Demand for Bi will make then have to change culture or not. If you want to compete with other markets where their artists are a little more “free” to experiment and stretch the boundaries, then Korea is just gonna have to get with the program or lose the momentum they seem to be having now in entertainment.
As far as fangirl psychoses, there are many out there who truly need psychological help in a PROFOUND way. Something is going on WAY DEEP. It’s one thing to love an artist/actor for their artistry and talents and heck for their fine as hell bodies and beautiful faces. However, it’s a whole other ball game when fangirls start “projecting” their own twisted head game fantasies onto an entertainer as if he/she Actually belongs to them and is in a relationship with them. It’s bizarre and just damned C-R-A-Z-Y, Loco….Nuts! You are…..Off Your Rocker….way off. When fans take their fixations that far, it really is about what’s going on or what has transpired in their own lives that has caused some kind of psychological “break.” This is why I say seek some help. Truly, there is help these days. TALK to somebody with a medical degree in mental health issues on the wall. Seriously!

I’m agree with you on that Terri, I think Rain has a lot of talent, he has a lot to offer, but like you said there’s a lot on game here, and there is much more than just one director opinion, there is cultural issues,and we want it or not, JiHoon is going to have to put a lot of things in play if that kind of scenes comes in a future, stillI hope he gets the chance to demonstrate all the can do and transmit through his acting skills.
Referring to the fangirl comments,I must admit I felt a little envious of her, but not that kind of insanely jealous you said, more like “she is so lucky, Rain looks so sexy on that scene, if I was her I would…so luckyy >.< haha xD" so I don't know what kind of scary comments you must have read, but must be so difficult to be an artist and that you fans feel that you belong to them, yeah we all have a fangirl side I must said it, but one thing is to watch the scene and at the beginning have that silly feeling of jealousy, because you really like him like an artist and you also think that he's so sexy and talented, and another very different thing is to pretend that he is your man o.o! he's an actor, very talented one for the record, and we want some romance here u.u!!

Regarding Bi and kissing scenes. My thoughts are 1) to what degree is the decision to cut or not to cut in his hands (2) or is the decision to cut strictly in the director’s hands or the Korean powers that be (3) Will Bi keep his characters “chaste” when he films movies in the U.S.
I think this ultimately is a Korean entertainment thing and the need by his country to make him tone down his sexuality. I would give further opinions on the movie itself, but I don’t want to put spoiler alerts on this comment.

Okay, lemme clear this up.
In my humble opinion, it’s totally NOT Rain. It’s the directors.
Rain has thoroughly kissed his costars before, whenever the story warranted it–in both “A Love to Kill” and “I’m a Cyborg, but That’s OK”, he kisses the girls just fine. In fact, in “Cyborg” it was Rain and Im Soo-jung who argued with the director in favor of their kiss, because it was supposed to be a romantic comedy. The story is that they said, “Dude, it’s a romance. What is a romance without a kiss or two?” So, the director decides to try it and when he saw the kiss and how awesome it looked on camera, he didn’t want it to ever stop. And they went on forever and forever and finally, Rain says something like, “Dude. We’re swallowing each other over here. Haven’t you got enough?” LOL. That’s why the kiss in that movie goes on and on for a bit–because they had so much footage of it.
I also totally believe the kiss in Fugitive: Plan B was an afterthought added by RAIN, because it was so last minute and looked so spontaneous and unrehearsed. It was such a surprise to Na Young, in fact, that she actually looked at him in shock and giggled. I think he was thinking, Okay, dammit, this is stupid. Ji-Woo would totally try to steal another kiss from her, and I’m gonna damn do it. And the director was like, okay whatever, and left it in–probably because fans all over the world were whining about there being no kiss in the damned drama. LOL. We were pretty vocal about it.
Which is the same reason the kissing stills were finally released from CJ Entertainment. Because his fans are so pissed we didn’t get a kiss in the film.
So, no. I honestly don’t think Rain has a problem with kissing his costars at all. And that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. 😛

she when to watch the R2B Movies Yesterday later about 9pm and she mention taht this R2B was very GOOD in both Action and Funny as TAE HOON character Rain craking a lot fan who watching this in theater and it is touching moment of this flim but she also mention THE KISS SCENE ARE BANNED out and yes it does get cut off the scene i just upset the fact it happen and i True understand it WASN’T RAIN it was PD did this i wish when he coming back that if he is filming HOLLYWOOD Movies was with Mr. Richard Gere i think at lease if they are add Kiss Scene pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee show it no cut on that part BUT i am pretty sure it might not be CUT coz u know how American are the more sensual kiss show the better they flim became good and popular i just saying though but my though is i always want to see Rain show us some GOOD sensual kiss every women want to see esp it Rain who such muti talent and versatile person too who would !!
btw… do u know how LONG this movies release in US Theater i have same though as Scopibil thinking too it just wondering after she mention it do u know ??

I have no idea how long it will run. Usually, a normal movie runs a few weeks. Maybe a month? Sometimes a couple of months if it is lucky. Sometimes even more if they have a huge draw.

The one in Dallas is only gonna run through next Thursday (this coming up week). If I’m not mistaken I think that’s what we heard yesterday. I think they’re calling it a “limited release.”
I don’t know about other showings in the other cities. Like Terri said, it probably also depends on the Demand created by ticket buyers. If I lived in Dallas, I would have seen the movie more than once myself. I think Gee and BiThatWay (Vicki) are going to see it again. But this is all I know for now.

BiAlamode and Gee, 2nd viewing—6:50 pm show, Sunday 8/26! Me, my friend who just moved back from Colorado (a Cloud that I created) and about 40 other people……..including the 7 or 8 ajummas on our row! Of course one of their phones rang REALLY loud during a crucial scene in the film and she had the nerve to answer it and talk LOUD (fussing because she ended the conversation with the classic “aish/aigoo”) like she was in a Korean drama….LOL

Second viewing, Vic — 4:10 pm show, Sunday 8/26! Me, Terri, and about 30 other people who came piling in (family, couple, friends, men and women) right at showtime. Terri was handing out R2B posters that CJ provided us with like gangbusters. LOL! One woman was waving down at Terri and came down out of her seat to get one ahahaha 😀

I didnt make this comment before cuz then people will say I jinx it. But the fact the they put these pictures in fb gave a hint that they were cut from the movie. Okay, I can see why the left the first kiss scene out, really. Their relationship hadn’t evolved to the kissing stage at that point, I don’t think. So, I think I’m with the director on that one. But the final scene kiss? No bloody way that should have been cut. Totally the wrong call.

Yeap, I agree with you there. Honestly, there are more scenes that could have used a little more “meat” if you ask me. Now, I totally get what you told me when I posted that fan fic the very first time. Ms. Terri. SMILES!! I’m glad I went back and re-did it. It’s all in the details is it not? Not an easy thing to do, but when it’s right you know it and for a movie it will definitely come across on screen (too much or too little that is) SMILES…………………..

OMG WHY THE DIRECTOR CUT THESE KISSES? They were amazing! That’s a script assassination!! Jezzz people don’t respect writers!! If movies were made as writers want them to be, people would go more to the movies cuz when directors cut important scenes like that, then the movie lost credibility, coherence and ends up being lame or worst, you don’t understand it. Seriously, I hope they put these kisses on deleted scenes. What a shame!! 😦

Sorry, Mr. Director. Your “smooth out the movie” excuse simply does NOT fly. Pilots and all military personal know that they can die at any moment of the day, and wouldn’t not kiss the person they love (that includes family members, spouses and kids, whatever). That is simply not realistic to an audience.
What a glaring error on your part, cutting this out!
I don’t know what in the world has been going on, to where JiHoon’s characters haven’t been allowed to kiss a woman EVEN IN ROMANTIC SITUATIONS since 2007. What a perfectly good waste of sexy, talented World Star.
