[article][soldier check] Top South Korean singer Rain to hit Hanoi stage.

It always tickles me when I read “Rain’s concert” in these articles, because that always congers up a certain image that we’re all pretty used to, rather than the fact that JiHoon will be one piece of a HUGE military crew and that as one of the soldier/ambassador/representatives, things will probably go down a little differently than when he was a civilian. It should be pretty interesting, though. And this is a good write-up.

Top S.Korean singer Bi Rain to hit Hanoi stage
According to Thursday reports from international newswires like Newsis and TVreport, South Korean hit singer Bi Rain will be the next music star to perform in a military concert in Hanoi next week.
The event is part of a series of cultural activities to celebrate the 20th year of diplomatic relation between Vietnam and South Korea.
As Bi is serving in the Korean Army (military service is compulsory for all Korean males), he will perform with the Korean National Military Symphony Orchestra on the Hanoi Opera House’s stage. RnB singer and songwriter Park Hyo Shin, who is most well known for composing soundtracks for hit dramas like” I’m Sorry, I Love You” (2005) and “Athena” (2010), will also perform at the event.
According to Newsis, the whole Korean crew will consist of 90 people, including 60 members of the orchestra, 17 traditional musicians and 7 assistants.
In related news, after a Korean-Vietnamese concert featuring top Korean girl and boy groups like Super Junior, Beast, MBLAQ, Sistar and singer IU held Thursday in Hanoi, the Korean Embassy and Korean Cultural Foundation in Vietnam are re-examining the concert’s ticket distribution system.
Yesterday’s concert, which was a collaboration of Korean TV KBS and national broadcaster VTV, raised questions as its tickets, which were supposed to be freely distributed, did not reach most of the audience, prompting a hysterical ticket search among the young K-pop fan community.
Bi Rain is expected to arrive in Hanoi on March 17 and participate in a few cultural exchange activities with Vietnam’s Military Cultural and Art University and the Korean Cultural Center in Hanoi.
Born in 1982, Bi Rain is a highly accomplished dancer, singer and actor whose acting and music career has expanded beyond Asian boundaries.
He has led numerous concert tours around the world and starred in Hollywood movies like “Speed Racer” (2008) and “Ninja Assassin” (2009). In 2006, Bi Rain was named by Time magazine as one of the “100 Most Influential People Who Shape Our World.”
Bi Rain’s concert will be held on March 21 at the Hanoi Opera House at 1 Trang Tien, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi.

Well, no matter what Baby sings I KNOW is gonna be beautiful! I’m just happy that he’s gonna be doing what he loves, music!! I read somewhere that the songs they are going to sing will be “patriotic and made to lift morale” soo I guess his songs wouldn’t be part of the concert. The only one I believe can be included is Friends. But anyway, I JUST WANT TO HEAR HIS VOICE!! No matter if he’s in uniform (Yummie!!!) or sings whatever, is Baby singing so I wanna see him and melt over that heavenly voice!! I know he can sing amazingly well whatever they dish him so I can’t wait to see those fancams!! Arghhh!! Fangirl mode!! kekekeke 😀

I am excited too but wondering if he (Rain) will have to sing National songs or some kind of military song. I can’t imagine he will be doing, “Bad Boy”. What do yall think?

Gee,
We were sort of wondering the same thing. I mean, really. I don’t think “Nan” would go over real well for these audiences, do you? Hopefully, someone will share some fancams with us at some point. We’ll see.
