Poor JiHoon. He has politely asked everyone to not send him so many gifts on base because The Cloud (probably Benamoo and DC Rain Gall too) and his family are already taking care of him and there is nowhere to put it all. Rainy Entertainment has even provided an office address where fans can send anything they want to, whenever they want. But darned if folks are listening to the man or doing what he asks. Are y’all trying to make him cut everybody off completely to keep from getting in trouble with his superiors? What are you thinking? Bless Hana, she was trying to say it nicely, but I’m just saying it. *shaking my head*
Many thanks to Hana and this soldier’s sister for their kindness in giving us information about JiHoon. 🙂 It’s wonderful (and expected) that he and his bunkmates are enjoying their chocolates. Let us hope he has vegged out a bit during his time off.

The sister of a recruit attended her brother’s graduation ceremony on 16 February. She heard some news there. Knowing that we are dying for some news about our prince, she wrote the following letter (my translation) for us:
As a celebrity he could take a easy way to fulfill his military duty, but Assistant Instructor Jung Jihoon did not do so. Truly proud of him.
Although I am not a passionate fan, I must say he is really handsome^^
I attended my brother’s graduation ceremony on 16 February and I heard some news. I know all your Rain fans are curious about how he is doing so I wrote this for you.
When I conducted an event for my brother in this cafe, I got support from many Rain fans. Thank you to you all.
I heard that Rain had his holiday.
I got the news from my brother.
He gave very nice gloves as gifts to the executives of the No. 12 unit and his team members.
Everyday there are 1000 letters from his fans. These have all been well delivered.
He can be seen quite often in the camp, and he is really kind and handsome.^^
Many celebrities like Yunho visited him, which proved his connection.
The Valentine chocolates are well received and shared together happily.

I apologize for any inconvenience caused by my last writing.

My brother (Rain) replied yesterday that he had received packages containing boxes of chocolates from you and enjoyed them very much. He really thanked you guys.
According to him, because storage space in the unit is at a premium, he doesn’t feel comfortable about your having given him too many gifts.
Such being the case, small amounts of gift will suffice if you do it at all because he could make you feel sorry if he asks stopping you from sending him gifts.
If I have offended you again, I apologize.
I can understand that you want to always provide him nice food, and he’ll probably know it better than I do, so please understand him a little better.
I hope you are always healthy and careful not to catch a cold. And, oppa (Rain) is having a great time. He said thank you for always worrying about him.
I have to finish writing now.

oh it nice of fan and her share this with us and told how her brother doing and received so many gift and chocolate that rain enjoy to eat too i am bless knowing Rain have such a sister hana who truly care for her brother and do what ever to get him feel safety and confident about his fan felt for him while he away they still have him in their heart and care for him while he in army served his duty !!

There are two options for sending snail-mail to JiHoon presently. The last update we has for the military unit address for cards, letters, and gifts (we recommend sending only cards and letters and very SMALL, consumable gifts, by the way) was in December, and it was as follows:

Poor mail room soldier is right!
The most recent accounting said that Ji-Hoon gets 1000 letters a day. One thousand letters a day! That’s an entire mailbag of letters! And I’m not talking about a little mailbag, I’m talking about one of the big ones.
Can you just imagine what it’s like being assigned to sort mail in Rain’s unit? I mean, at first, it was probably like, wow, this is cool. But then the letters, cards and packages kept flooding in. So now? Not so fun anymore.
And like Rain said. Storage space is at a premium, which means, basically that the brunt of the cost for figuring out what to do with all that stuff is whose? You guessed it. Ji-Hoon’s.
Have any of you ever been in an Army barracks? The space each soldier is given is really REALLY small. So, where in the heck would he put all that mail even if he did want to keep it? What is likely happening is Ji-Hoon is having to have everything he gets (even most of the cards and letters) packed up and sent to some fan mail processing center or warehouse somewhere.
Not to mention does anyone really believe that he has the time or the energy to read every single letter and message or open every single box himself? Really???
I know it can be tempting to send stuff to him, Clouds, but I suggest that you refrain from doing that, if at all possible. The best option is to simply sign onto the Cloud’s fan-site and leave him an electronic message there. There is the Cloud Letter option for paid-up members of the 8th Cloud there, and if you aren’t a member of The Cloud, then you can still leave messages for him on their main Support Board.
If you find you just can’t stand it and you’ve just GOT to send him something, then please make it something CONSUMABLE, something he can eat or use or share with the rest of his unit–something that won’t take up storage space, or that he won’t have to be bothered to ship off to somewhere else.
Much easier and a lot less costly for everyone concerned.

Yeah, I told myself a long time ago not to get too caught up and just send notes here and there. Honestly, I think he’d be much more appreciative. Yeah, I don’t think he’s gonna spend his precious time off reading 1000 letters……that all say the same thing (love you, miss you). Can you imagine? (SMILES)

I’d say…..Yes. People are really stubborn and don’t like to be “told” what to do. I’ve sent three physical letters since his enlistment and that was back when he first enlisted. Even with letters, any letter will get drowned in a sea of letters, so I just leave notations at The Cloud ever so often. Bottom line, people have been told and they Know the man has limited space to keep things. I just think some people want their item to be the “special” one that he sees and keeps forever, but I’m sure he sees a lot of the same things and can’t possibly keep it all. I would LOVE to be a fly on the wall, when he gets his mail. Honestly, I know all the reports that come out regarding Bi are quite positive and wonderful. However, if reality prevails and (truth be told….quiet as it’s kept) you can’t tell me that all the “hoopla” in the mail room doesn’t get on Somebody’s nerves! (HA!)

Rain is going to be really popular because I bet he shared lots of chocolates with his buddies! I hope he got to taste mine because I tried to send really interesting kinds that he might not have tried before (chocolate with chili, chocolate with bacon, etc.)
I thought when Rain went into the army it would be two and a half years of no news so it’s great to still get little tidbits of news like this!

…is rain*s adress the same for sending letters to the army…even if he upgraded his rang in the army?couse my internet conection is really bad and i cant search for this information by my own…
i was really ill in the hospital until february so i couldnt write nor follow anything about his new life in the army… and after i saw the adress you posted on this site i sent a letter after that….i hope others will do the same to(i told him in my letter, that ill write a letter in 1*2 months so i wont bother him to much,no gifts..etc) …but i guess fans tend to overdo it and couse i guess after hearing that more then 1000 letters in a day are send to him…to many….and to many gifts that cant be taken to him couse as we all saw in many pictures..he has a little bed with a little place only to store his personal things and his clothes…and he has already a busy day there…and maybe he feels really akword with his team mates and maybe he*s feeling sad to couse he can say to fans *dont send me anymore things*couse he loves us but at the same time fans doing this only bring him trouble with others there…and i for one hope that the time he is spending there will be more like a vacation,even if he has training..but i mean a vacation without worrying that his superiors may come any moment and tell him over and over again that they have problems with storing things again..must be very hard for him…so i*m really hoping that others will do the same as me and give him space to breath..and think about his life..change in better as he sed in his last concerts…if anyone is reading my little*big comment pls try not to everdo it again so he wont have trouble anymore for the time he has lefs in the army..thnx and hope you*ll answere soon…Alexandra…

Yes, Rain will have a new address. We will let you all know the new address as soon as we know. In the meantime, please use his address at his old unit as follows. I’m sure they will forward his mail to him at the PR department. So, don’t worry.
